Fortunately the elders in my hall were not assholes, for the most part. Some of the MS however... There was one in particular who used to be an elder but due to humility issues he was downgraded. Seemed like he always held a grudge.

June 15th WT ( again) JW's told " Elders are Imperfect " Give them a Break
by flipper inthis is one subject that really annoyed me when i was a jehovah's witness - and i find it still annoys me after being out 7 years from the jw's.
the title of this jw only wt study article is " have regard for those who are working hard among you ".
in my opinion there always seemed to be a double standard in which rank and file publishers were always told to be patient with elders shortcomings - however if rank and file publishers slipped up - elders would be into admonishing and disciplining them like flies attracted to dung with no delay.

New Way of Doing Field Service?
by snowbird inas i was driving to work this morning, i saw a familiar looking car a few yards ahead of me that kept making stops where people were standing alongside the roadway.. when i drove past the people, i noticed wt and awake!
in their hands.. well, lo and behold, this jw woman to whom i once referenced in the link below was "placing" literature with them!.

Only way to avoid heated topics is to not discuss religion or politics.

Physically sick from meetings? You must be Mary of the six screens fame! Seriously though. I would feel sick to my stomach at meetings.

The average JWs opinion of who will die at Armageddon is that if you arent a JW you will die. any time they say heart condition they are full of it.

I always like the idea of taking the chip out of those musical greeting cards and finding a way to stick them under the carpet. Unfortunately, I have neither the cajones nor the time or even care to try that. I wonder if the elders know I still have a key to the hall?

Despite the fact that i officially left the JWs last October I still had a big issue to deal with. I was still living at home. Many of you are aware of the kind of pressure that parents can put on you. Its the little things, the looks they give you. The snarky little comments. Then there is the big stuff. Getting berated. Having my opinions and feelings mean nothing to them. However, now Im officially free! Today is the day I move out of that hellhole. Now Im officially free to live as I choose. Its a great feeling of liberation. That feeling is totally worth the struggles of bills and the uncertainty of living on my own. I am no longer subject to anything the WT says or does. I am finally free. its been a struggle, internally mostly but that struggle has been totally worth it. Ive lost "friends". Ive lost the respect of family. But Ive gained so much more. My advice to any on the fence is, leave now and never look back. Nothing good ever comes easy. Its a struggle and a battle and it has by no means been easy. But its doable and totally worth it! Thanks to everyone here for helping me along in my journey to personal freedom.

How could Jesus be ruling the world since 1914 yet Satan is the ruler of the world?
by yadda yadda 2 injuly 2011 awake (p.5) says: the ruler of this world.
the bible states: the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.
(john 12:31; 1 john 5:19) that wicked one is satan the devil, a powerful spirit creature who is described as the ruler of the authority of the air.
