How to stop Warwick
by Skinnedsheep ini was thinking what a crushing blow it would be to the organization if the warwick project was stalled or held up in court.
many times a project will run into legal challenges over environmental issues or a lack of planning on the social-traffic- air quality - noise impacts.
political pressure on the council also can create headaches for the project proponents.. i saw a community once that had an indian casino planned.

I Know A MS That Just Got Reappointed As An Elder After 5 Years And Still Thinks He's Not Qualified
by minimus inhe's a very good man and recognizes his limitations.
he still dislikes field service and considers himself inferior to the other elders.
he has almost no contact with his disfellowshipped older son.

The WT likes keeping the members running on that treadmill, never doing enough to reach any sort of goal. You can always do more.

i regret not getting disfellowshipped/da'd
by Django_Unchained ini'd particularly like to stick it to the woman who gave birth to me by sending a da letter to her congregation, though admittedly i wasn't part of hers when i stopped going.. say i were to send the letter to her cult hall, would the letter be read during the announcement?
how does that work?.

I'm not sure how it would be sticking it to her. Then again I don't know your situation.

Oh I thought JWs were just a "normal" religion
by fresh prince of ohio ini have found that, since leaving jws, that few "wordly" people seem interested in hearing my escape story (although some certainly have shown great interest).
when i've mentioned that i used to be a jw and that i left, the reaction i've gotten on more than one occasion is a "oh i thought they were just a normal religion", and not only that, it's like they just weren't at all even open to the idea that jws could be a really strange and cultish group.
on these occasions, i felt a little lost for words trying to explain to people just how crazy jwism is, because there's so much crazy to tell about, where do you even start?.

Most people just think they are a little looney but have no idea the extent. I have informed a few people who have asked about it.

Is The WTS Building Beth Sarim 2 ?
by metatron ini continue to puzzle over the future direction the watchtower is taking.
it seems very strange.. let's review: they are selling everything off in brooklyn, raking in huge sums from that real estate and building heavily in a fairly isolated part of upstate ny.. why?.
it may be classified as a country club (legally).

They aren't prepping for any doomsday. They know they are full of it. At least the old crew believed in the BS they spewed.

slimboyfat... that's makes the Awake magazine all that much more amazing. That little pamphlet is getting smaller and smaller and it still rivals a college education.

The 7 Most Psychologically Damaging Sects ??
by Calebs Airplane inso a few months ago, i was searching the internet for "exit counselors", and i came across an interesting article about the psychological affects of religious cults in general... i then started to take down some notes so i could go back and research later.... this morning, i was looking at those notes which included a top 7 list of the most psychologically damaging sects or cults (according to the opinion of certain people in this very limited field)... here's that list:.

I'm not so sure about the scientologists. It is actually a pretty small group overall. I think the last number I heard was like 50,000.

What's really arrogant is someone saying "I have all the right answers." I don't claim to have all the right answers. JW's are so obsessed with having an answer and their version of the "truth" being right. They can't see the irony that what was once a undisputed fact in their minds, could easily be replaced by changing doctrine. Then having the balls to come out and say they have the "truth" is arrogance of the highest order.
