if they could set up pay pal accounts and enough of us could contribute say $20 - $50 per month it would help them though their hardship.. these two people have helped many escape from the wts and i know for sure have given money and other material help to those in need, even when they could not afford it.. if you can help, send an email to: [email protected].

I love Farkel and have done what I can for him in the past. I also know that some went to much trouble a short while back for him. I am very saddened to see him complaining that no one cares for him as he has seen PROOF that quite the opposite is true. Wonder why he has gotten so forgetful?

America is generally viewed as Christian--even though we have so many religions. All of the religions here besides the Muslims are considered Infidels. Israel, (the Jewish state, more Infidels), is seen as the oppresser of Palestine, a Muslim state (or actually trying to BE a state). America and some of her allies are supporters of Israel. All are consider Infidels. All are hated by the Islamic extremists. It is not such a stretch to believe that indeed the relationships in this whole situation do influence the actions of these extremists groups.
Regarding the US propaganda, while it seems almost surreal to us we have to remember that these people have a different mindset than we do. Such things being drummed into their heads repeated will likely result in fueling the fires that are inspiring the defections etc. that are already happening. Like Hussein's Republican Guard that was going to present us with the Mother of All Battles. Turned out they readily surrendered to reporters and photographers (i.e. unarmed foreigners). Propaganda is still a good weapon in the middle east, and the better prepared one is to back up their own proganda, the better. Ours may be part bluster, theirs is ALL bluster.

i found some ladies purse at the local shopping mall parking lot tonight, it had her entire life in it, her social security card, her cell phone, her cash, her credit cards, even her daughters social security card.. from looking through the contents, me and saffron were able to find out many things about her:.
1)she had recently moved from way out in the country to columbia maryland... 2)she was probably divorced from a man of middle eastern origens.
3)she was white.
Good job on the returned purse bboyneko-- Yeah, she couldn've slipped you a ten spot or something but she may have been broke. I once had a purse stolen, a boy who found it in a dumpster called me and I bummed a few bucks off my mom to give him a reward. At first I wondered if he had been the one to take it but when I got to his house I saw they were a poor family. The place was neat as a pin and I interrupted his homework when I got there. He admired a pin on the purse and I gave it to him since he refused the reward. Just goes to show, you never really know.
I've had people break down and cry when I caught up with them to return their lost wallets. Really touching.
Naeblis, lol, you are such a wise ass. I hear you aren't actually Greek, but Turkish. Is this true?????

Hi Andi and everyone--
In light of the attacks on so many innocents on 9/11 how can I feel anything BUT fortunate? Sure I too have known great miseries but I have lived to tell about them, unlike many.
I have two great kids that have taught me more than I could've learned in several lifetimes. They are brilliant, beautiful, kind and most importantly, healthy. Their father, my husband, and I have been on an interesting journey together for many years and we have learned a great deal from and with each other. Many of the things learned were rather difficult but, in the end, have helped us to grow.
I have learned so much from so many, a great debt I can never hope to re-pay. Another wonderful, enlightened teacher I was fortunate enough to have for 27 years was my dad. He was brilliant, kind, witty, patient and the epitome of selflessness. A remarkable man by all accounts.
Like many of you I too have the good fortune of having some wonderful friends. There is nothing that can make me happier than to know that those I love, friends and family alike, are truly happy with their own lives. To share the ups and downs of life with these people is a great privlege for me.

While I doubt child molesters join the JWs with the intention of finding easy victims (as there are much easier ways), I do think that people with evil and/or self-serving purposes often take cover under the guise of religion and righteousness. There are even some who are so self-important that they feel they speak for God and their intent is obviously to cultivate followers of their own. Can you imagine someone thinking they are so special that God would instruct them regarding stupid day-to-day bullshit instead of addressing the horrors that are going on around the world all the time?
Religion is the best hiding place for so many evil-intended because the religious are often so gullible.

#1 - original sin: supposedly all this stuff is going on because adam/eve "ate the fruit" (type of fruit still under question).
because of this, god let billions & billions of people, "his children", suffer imperfection, pestilence, plague, wars,death, etc.
& let his "true followers" throughout bible history be persecuted because of this "original sin".
Another point I think is interesting is that supposedly, if Adam and Eve hadn't eaten the fruit there would be no such thing as death. Can you imagine how many people have lived and died throughout the ages? Even harder to imagine is how many of us there would be if no one had ever died. There wouldn't be enough space for all of us, much less food and other resources. What an absurd idea.

I get comments from people like you from time to time, basically criticizing what I am doing. But if there were more people like me doing it, I wouldn't have to do it.
And I would love to ask you "old guys" a few questions, but I fear that I will get answers that somehow involve using the "God-crutch" to solve problems. I don't do "God" anymore. Used to. I called, nobody home.

Thanks for going to all the trouble to post all those delightful scriptures for our enlightenment. I was saddened to see you did not include any of my personal favorites so I will include them here for you as a personal favor. Mind you I have time limitations and can only provide a partial list at this time.
Genesis 38:6-10 As I am sure you are aware Brother Thomas this is a sample of God's undying love for us. Judah's son Er was displeasing to God so God put him to death. Then Judah told his other son Onan to go get Er's wife pregnant. Onan disobeyed at the last moment and he soon felt the wrath of God too. I mean hey--if you want to waste your semen on the earth than you must die and that is that! There is to be no squabbling over contradictory scriptures in Leviticus about lying with your brother's wife--no, no, God doesn't play that game.
Deuteronomy 21:18-21 I like this tough-love approach to parenting. It says here that if you have a son who is rebellious then you take him to the elders who will drag him out to be stoned to death. This is a fine example for the other aspiring rebellious sons to reconsider their actions. The love here is so evident I can almost feel it.
2Chronicles 13:16-18 This is a shining example of how powerful believing in God can make you. Here Abijah was able to slaughter 500,000 of God's own people which taught them a lesson in humilty. One can never be too humble.
Isiah 13:9-16 This shows that the day of Jehovah will be "cruel both with fury and burning anger". I get chills and thrills reading about how all the folks found will be killed by the sword, children dashed to pieces and the women raped by God's people. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling all over.
I could go on and on because there are so many examples of God's love for us. I will merely conclude that we know all these things to be true and worthy of knowing because 2Timothy 3:16 tells us so. "All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight for disciplining in righteousness." As far as I am concerned we should fall to our knees and thank God everyday for such enlightenment.
