REAL HELP!
by logicalthinker inif you want real help please go to:.
the official site for jehovah's witnesses and those truly interested in the jw organisation and the word of god.. i wonder if you would find so many sites (such as this one) dedicated to the verbal tearing apart of jehovah's witnesses and their religion if there was not something special about it?.
afterall when was the last time you found 10,000+ search results for catholics, jews, mormons or any supposed sect or cult?.

If you have ever looked in to the bible you will see that the father of the lie is Satan the Devil, so if you tell lies you are his sons.
You are just making him happier and happier!
Then what do you say to the fact that the WBTS has published documented lies, misquotes and misrepresentations in its publications? These can be seen by a simple examination of the appropriate publications and sources.

Comparison of Mormonism and JWism
by alex ini'm thinking that the mind-control games are very very very very much the same between mormonism and jwism.
i've lurked here for a while and thought i'd introduce myself.
my name is alex and i'm an unbelieving mormon who lives in utah.

Alex
wasn't there a deal where when the BoM was being translated chapter by chapter someone took one of the chapters and didn't give it back.. Later Joseph Smith was unable to reproduce the chapter (this was what the person who took it wanted to demonstrate) and it was paraphrased in the final BoM.
Also I heard that there were sections in the BoM that were taken verbatim from the KJV, including mistranslations or mistakes in the KJV..
any truth to these?

So Confused
by troubled inhi.. i've been a jw for 15 years, have pioneered, been where the need is great, etc.
up until a couple of years ago, i was considered strong in the truth.
but then i had my first and only episode of major depression.

It seems like talking to a counsellor or psychologist would be a great idea. I don't think it would reflect badly on JWs at all.. After all they are regular people who sometimes experience depression just like anyone else. There could also be physiological causes for your depression, have you spoken to your regular doctor about it?

The WTs Biggest Deceptions
by individual ini was just wondering what do the members of this board think the biggest deception in the teaching of the watchtower society is?.
one of the biggest deceptions for me, one that stuck like a thorn in my side was their deception on earthquakes, hence my previous thread on the last days.
the wts, as i recall, published supposed proof of the increase in earthquakes since 1914. i was so angry when i found out that this was an outright lie.

You guys should remember the words of so-and-so.. "when the blabady blah is flerpy werpy then woopwoop hoohaw riplle do." And despite the fact that the Society has claimed to speak for God, they are not really claiming so because firple doopy wap wap so in reality they are notpy bloogah poople. Just because they spiritually execute you for disagreeing with doctrines that aren't in the bible, So-and-so would argue that hedlrousity vorblix treleontologically represents farfigneugen with the juxtaposition of redverontological qwertyuiopism. So those dead kids or ones whose lives were screwed up by some lowlife scumbag pedofile will just have to wait on Jehovah. Afterall evidence shows he is using the Society , and if you curse the society you are cursing him. And he hates to be cursed. Boy oh boy.

Freedom of Thought and JW Opposers
by dunsscot indoes freedom of thought really obtain in this forum?
are those who have left god's organization and jehovah god himself actually now more open-minded and unbiased?
if those who espouse atheistic thoughts or those who believe every vile utterance spoken against jehovah's people think they are now speaking from some olympian perspective, i beg to differ.

Kierkegaard on Abraham and Isaac: Blood
by dunsscot into whom it may concern,.
the witnesses are often condemned for refusing blood transfusions and "permitting" their children to die.
such a religious position is untenable, opponents of jws will argue.

Nevertheless, I'd like to ask you, do you think there are certain dangers associated with taking blood?
What does this have to do with anything. Just going under general anethesia is dangerous and could kill you. So is driving a car, eating fatty foods, etc etc.. So what's your point?

you would have to delineate the quiddity of a falsehood
You have got to be kidding me. Here is julien delineating the quiddity of dunscott: "I know big words and things famous smart guys said, I act smart, therefore the Society is justified in everything they do. I ignore the tough questions and answer the easy ones"
You can finish up the popcorn and go take care of those chores now, buddy. I delivered a knockout blow to Mr. "pop."
Yeah that was quite a "knockout blow" there. As this autonomous agent predicted you ignored completely the more relevant first post by Alan, concentrating on defending your thesaurus driven vocabulary lessons..
I am starting to suspect you are somebody's AI project.

Maybe one who chooses a certain course that seems to violate a principled directive of God removes his/herself from God's congregation (ecclesia): There is thus no need for the body of Christ to administer any sanctions
Hmm, it's rather curious why this only applies to blood transfusions. If you follow this logic then any disfellowshipping offense should give you an automatic disassociation, no committee needed. Since it is inconsistantly applied, the explanation given rings false. Just like the BS explanation of the when the donation arrangement came into effect.. "It is to simplify our work.. (but only in some countries where we are subject to being taxed on book sales)"
