I report a non-existant family study every month. My wife is also present at this fictional event. So you can deduct 8 hours, 4 rv's, 1 bs, and 2 publishers from the list.
It's about damn time they got a category for bullshit on that slip.
in the january 1 issue of each year, they harp on about how many hours the jws did last year etc etc.. how many hours are possibly falsely reported?.
discuss,please

it appears that alot of people on this board believe in evolution (either by that name or by another) as the explanation for the origins of life.
to those people i would sincerely ask the following:.
1. where did plants come from?.
AlanF and JanH will do a much better job of answering your questions with greater detail.I think AlanF and JanH have learnt (at last!) to ignore this kind of posts. Sometimes you best show your intelligence by not replying.
However, not answering this kind of post risks having lurkers conclude that evolution has no answer for these "problems." Posting a simple link to www.talkorgins.org may not be much better. Post the link (or link to other existing relevant material) and providing succinct answers is best, as shown by Amazing's post.

Why aren't molds and other simple celled life forms continuing to evolve into more complex life forms?
This is like the question of a child who doesn't believe that humans grow old and die. "Why aren't I turning into an old man right now!!?" Additionally it seems to indicate you believe that one species completely changes into another "just because". This isn't what happens. Some members of a geographically widely spread species, for example mold or bacteria, might indeed change if local environmental pressure to change was there. Others would not change at all if they were already successful as is in their environment.
A good book on this subject I am reading right now is Finding Darwin's God .. the author believes in God and believes belief in evolution can be reconciled with that. He addresses many creationist arguments including those of Behe mentioned by Amazing.

I enjoyed this 15 years ago when it was called X-eyes
this thought often crosses my mind.... what happens when you reach the end of the universe?
if you believe god created the universe, then surely there is something more than the universe.
if anybody knows of any links to articles on the subject, please post.
Picture a bug walking on the surface of a balloon. Can he reach the end of the balloon? If he keeps walking he will be back where he started. That's how the universe is.
speaking entirely from a biblical standpoint:.
let's say you are a devout jw.
your wife and children are being threatened by an intruder with a gun.
That would be a far cry from murder.I've never heard anyone say they are forbiden to defend their own life or the lives of their family members especially under cercumstances like that. Thats just silly.
You are missing the point. The point is that the bible forbids the taking of another life. Yet in order to save your or another's life it is OK to break this command. I want to know why you can break this command to save a life but you can't take blood to save a life. The answer is obvious, I just want to point out the inconsistancy.

Speaking entirely from a biblical standpoint:
Let's say you are a devout JW. Your wife and children are being threatened by an intruder with a gun. He is intent on raping/torturing/killing them. You manage to get the gun away from him, now he is coming after you; or maybe he has got his hands around your 3 year old's throat. Do you shoot him?
If so, why would you do that? It is a commandment from God that you should not kill another human. This command is also given to Christians. Murder is a disfellowshiping offense. Why is it OK to break this principle to save yours or your spouses or families life? Would you be DFed by the Borg for this action? Shouldn't you watch him systematically kill your entire family rather than break one of God's commands? Especially a big one like Murder.
Can anyone guess where I'm going with this?

Unfortuantly, here is a story that will be sure to make the WTBTS happy:TEXAS MAN INFECTED BY HIV-TAINTED BLOOD DURING SURGERY
I don't see why. If the doctrine is correct then it should be followed regardless of health benefits. Besides which:
...is thought to be the first U.S. case of the virus being transmitted through donated blood since new HIV-screening technology was implemented three years ago.The first case in three years since screening was invented..
..and..
... he received during emergency heart-bypass surgeryMost people would rather be alive with HIV than dead from a heart attack.
has anyone ever spotted a gay cartoon character?
i firmly believe that peppermint patty in the "peanuts" cartoons was gay.
she was pretty much a tomboy and did you ever notice that patty's friend marcy always called her "sir" even though patty was a girl?
what about the "exit stage left" guy, snaggletooth I think;
he was rather effeminate. Gazoo on Flintstones was also that way.
