I agree with the point about Hitler Ted Bundy and the like being demon possesed or evil . To me evil and demon possesed are interchangeable. On the other hand I do know people who thought they had demons in their house because of an object and I thought they were strange before I ever heard the experience. Also my mother, a non JW, also has seen ghosts . My mother is mentally ill. So those sorts of people have problems. I think that there are 2 seperate classifications for being denon possessed. one is being mentally unstable and the other is being outright evil.

by sleepy inhow come that when jesus was on earth there were so many demon possessd people .. imagine how scared people must have been, creeping down the street wondering whether the next person you met was crased by demons and was going to attack you.. so how did they work out that someone was possessed by demons, who told them?how did they know it wasnt just a disease or other afliction?.
and were are all those demon possessions today ?.
you would think that with all the comunication technology today that at least one example of a positivly demon possessed person could be presented to the midia somewere in the world.. or perhaps we cant tell if someone is possessed or not because there are no extra outwould signs and any disease they caused would show up like a normal disease in tests.. maybe we are all possessed and dont know it.

JW's are very strange when it comes to this demon stuff. It seems like every hall I have ever been in that several have had demon experiences. One sister was having a hard time making it to a convention (she had a flat tire) and she blamed it on demons. This same sister was incredibly paranoid about objects bringing demons into her home ex. Goosebump books. So not only do these Demons drive them into the hall they also are the culprits behind everyday problems that everyone seems to have.
Also enjoyed the points about how no matter what they win !! How true...

Ray Franz
by Jeremy Bravo ini was talking to jw's that i know about a book that i had read by ray franz.
they told me that he was disfellowshipped because he was trying to the control the religion and bend it to his will.. i have read crisis of conscience and the first half of in search of christian freedom, and can tell from my heart that this is not the case.
i see from his examples that he was truly trying to use scripture as his guide.. i am curious of other rumors that are/were circulating through the congregations about him, and on what "basis" they have been spread.

I had never heard of Ray Franz when I was a witness. When the elders came to visit me , I thought I'd shock them when I told them that I read a book by him. They didn't even flinch so I guess they knew who he was. All I ever heard was that there were people called apostates who are evil and leave Jehovah and then spread lies about the org because they are so influenced by satan.

Its different for sisters with unbelieving mates and without family in the org. Were not privvy to all the gossip and invites. I had only a FEW close friends and I know that its the same for Angie. Its lonely being a witness when your the only one in your family. I know that Angie doesn't have close friends at this hall. Her situation is similar to what mine was. When yuou study and your first in all you see is the facade at the hall. I really believed that all those families were so perfect. It took a long time for me to see any hypocrisy and the ill effects of shunning actually thats why I left. So for me it took 10 years. I had a friend who hid her alcoholism because she was scared to death of being shunned. She even threatened suicide if I told on her. Being the crappy friend that I was I told to be free of bloodguilt. It woke me up to question what the hell kind of religion did I get myself into. Sorry to repeat that story again, I'm sure many are sick of reading it. Jurs -

Why do I get the feeling you enjoy harassing me ? In the other thread you question my motives..... To address this concern of yours I'll explain. I was baptized 7 years and studied for 3 a total of 10 years in the org. During that time I never really had to shun anyone or was put in a position to shun. At the hall there was shunning but it wasn't up close and personal. I wasn't raised in the truth so there for I never was exposed to shunning like many who have a gazillion JW relatives and there entire life and their friendships have always revolved around the hall. If your spouse (mine for example as well as Angies ) are not JW's you are not part of the clicks, your an outsider to some degree so therefore shunning really is not that big of an issue, Your not close eneough to anyone to have it really affect you. I'm the first person that is in Angie's face to make her deal with shunning. This is her first awkward encounter on wether she should speak to me or not. I posted in past threads but not this one that a family actually went to her house to tell her not to let her kids play with mine ect. ect. So hopefully this addresses your comment.

Obviously I'm not an elder and I don't know much about the inner workings on what elders disclose to police ect. But I feel certain elders would not hesitate in turning this sort of person in immediately. Sadly, pedophiles aren't considered as big as a threat to MEN (elders). Perhaps because some of them even are. Serial killers get huge amounts of coverage from the press. Certainly they would not want the horrific press of hiding a serial killer and there is also the bones (evidence in the back yard) to link him. With pedophiles its often the word of the victim against the word of the pedophile. There's often not physical proof. They'd turn him in to cover their butts.

Hi everyone,
I haven't decided yet if I'll go. I really liked this lady. She has been studying with witnesses for 5 years , not all of it was done here in colorado. She's pretty brainwashed yet she still has alot of the world in her ( if ya know what I mean). I use to make a special effort to always encourage her.
I have so much make up and lotions ect that I don't need anymore and I think Mary Kay is overpriced. I Know if witnesses are there that they will shun me. In a way thats why I want to go . I want Angie the bible study to see that and if there are any "worldly "people there , I want them to see it. It may be awkward and I might get stuck buying something all for nothing. No one may notice and I've just wasted my time. Its not till Saturday so I have time to think about it.Jurs

I haven't even finished reading this thread but just finished reading your imaginary conversation with a JW. That was perfect!!! I find it so difficult to argue the point that their imperfect and Jah directs them that I'm at a loss to know what to say. I'm going to take the easy way out and print your response. All the JW responses are exactly how they'll respond and they know it. I have someone in mind whom I'm going to give this to. Thanks for sharing your dialouge.
