Were You Obsessed With Demons?
by minimus infrom my youngest days, i remember being told that we should be careful because of the demons.
they are everywhere, just waiting to pounce on us.
we were told to stay away from windchimes since they "attract" the demons.

I was a real dork! I played a computer game when I was a JW called Phantasmagorea , I probably just misspelled it. Anyway it was a scary game and I could just "feel" that I invited demons into my home. But I finished the game anyway!! I wasn't real uptight about demons but I did believe in them. Only HERE could I admit to such stu[idity!

Did One Of Your Favorite JW's Leave The Truth?

I didn't leave because of anyone else who had left. Although, a sister I knew DA'd herself about a year before I left. I was very curious how she could doubt that this was the "truth". I even saw her in a store and went up and said "hi", even though I wasn't suppose to. I was so curious! She looked at me as if I had 3 heads and said Hi back and then made a get away as fast as she could. It was a moment that stayed with me, when other events happened that made me doubt as to wether it was the truth or not I thought about alot of things that didn't feel right. I wanted to call that sister but didn't know at that time how to reach her............. jurs

What are your thoughts on writing DA letters?
by mamashel inas most of you know, i have been inactive for about 2 1/2 yrs and completely out for about 7 months.
i am debating on wether or not to write a letter of da to the org or not.
in some ways i just want closure, and on the other hand i dont want to play by their rules.

Kingdom halls without holy spirit

when i was a jw i moved a bit and was in several different halls.
i heard of a number of halls not having jehovah's holy spirit and that in time jehovah would clear things up.

What Bad Counsel Was Given To You By The Elders?

I had similar advice when I was being abused. I told the elders I was tired of being treated like a doormat, one elder said that there are alot of good sisters who are doormats. No kidding!!!

What Was the Most Unbelievable Thing You've Heard?

When I lived in Longmont Colorado , there was this one elder who would say the most bizarre things. For example A JW shouldn't join the YMCA to work out because you don't want to be ther if armagedon should come at that time. The same elder told this sister who had an unbelieving mate who insisted upon decorating their house at Chritmas time that she should not allow the decorations to go up because her house could be destroyed if armagedon came at that time. Same elder told me when we were talking about O.J. Simpson, that he couldn't believe the terrible language Nicole Simpson used!!! Didn't condemn O.J. Again same elder said too many times to count that Jehovah hates cities, in the new system there will be no cities, everyone will have 1 acre of land. I have no idea how he knew this!!! I could go on and on with just this 1 elder!!! jurs

Comparing yourself to your kids
by roybatty inmy ex and i had a sit down talk with our 11-year old son yesterday night.
nothing major, just some needed adjustment to his attitude toward his sister.
anyway, it got me to thinking late last night how much better behaved my son is in comparison to when i was his age.

Great story!!!
When I compare myself to my kids I'm not very original. I honest to God had to walk almost a mile to school in freezing weather and yes ......sometimes there was alot of snow!!!!! I was from Montana and my mother didn't drive. I grew up with holidays whereas my kids did not . I had alot of freedom. I didn't have a curfew in highschool and was able to party alot. My daughters are more tomboyish than I ever was. They play sports and like their dirt bikes and 4 wheelers! jurs
