have you noticed that god's name seems to be getting shorter and shorter in magazines and in witness talk??

it went from grand titles like "the heavenly merciful sassified one" to "jehovah god" and now "jah" it's jah this and jah that.

it's like the witnesses have been taken over by rastafarians.

They've been dong a lot of surfin on the net and on these sites. They see us use that name freely, being his name, and they need something they call "food at the proper time." (Psalms 68:4 in THEIR bible) Notice all the final chapters of the book of Psalms.

You don't think they come up with "stuff" on their own.
Anything so-called 'new' is regurgetated (sp?) and the other stuff is to keep folks up to speed with the exposure through the media, internet, television, legal departments etc...
Preparing them like THEY came up with it.

...."Now friends....be prepared for outward and subtle attacks from apostates ALL AROUND THE WORLD. They don't like the fact that we expelled them for speaking truth. So don't be surprised at some of the NEW objections you find out in the ministry."

Which Bible to get?

i was just wondering: never in my life have i owned (or even read) a bible other than the nwt.

i really wish to study the bible but really do not wish to use this version.

after seeing the plethora of bibles out there i was wondering if there is any person here who can give me an un-biased opinion on which bible to get.

Thank you for your kind response. I hope I am understanding correctly what you mean, Yes, to rely ONLY on what is written can lead to distortion. Being mislead possibly.

But I must kindly disagree that how God speaks to us is yes, through "THE WORD" but it is NOT written. It is "the living word of God" "the true bread from heaven that feeds us."

JOHN 1:1 and 1:14 "The Word became flesh and resided among us as the only-begotten."

Revelation 19:13 "He is arrayed with an outer garment sprinkled with blood, and the name he is called is The Word of God."

Hebrews 1:1,2 "God who long ago and on many occasions and in many ways to our forefathers by means of the prophets, has at the end of these days SPOKEN to us by means of a SON, whom he appointed heir of all things, and through whom he made the system of things."

It is our lord who speaks to us directly. Hebrews 12:24-25. Yes, through holy spirit, it is translated to us into whichever language we may speak, sounding much like our voice.

Is this what you make reference to?

why is it that men who study with elders make ministerial servant and elder way ahead of others who have been reaching out for years?.

why do circuit overseers spend all of their time with the spiritually strong and never follow (or set) a christ-like example of visiting those that 'need a physician,' the spiritally weak, like those in nursing homes and irregular or inactive publishers.. jehovah sent his number one son to the earth... the only-begotten.

Thanks for your response and I hope I didn't confuse you much.
Yes 2Timothy 3:16 does say, "ALL SCRIPTURE" is inspired of God and BENEFIAL for 'teaching, reproving. setting this straight, etc etc."

It does NOT say, however, that LIFE is found in SCRIPTURE with these verses. What is written (scripture and letters) LEADS us to the one that gives life. That is why our lord said what he did at JOHN 5:39,40. You know he knew what man and religion down the line was going to do with "the bible."
Confuse poor innocent sheep.

Theses verses in JOHN also shows us that ANYONE regardless of our background, education or place on this earth can come to HIM.
If one can't read and study the bible...NO RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD???
Of course NOT!!!

As far as what is scripture LUKE 24:44-46 tells. At the time Luke was written Revelation wasn't written yet by John, but that was to come shortly.

So you have MOSES, ALL THE PROPHETS (Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, (big books) Micah, Amos (small books) etc...., Psalms, and Revelation.

They truly are helpful as Prophecy unfolds, reminders we need from time to time, to be able to teach ones that NEED TO SEE what is written, to help set matters straight, and to able to 'test out what IS inspired.'

And yes, there are books that NEVER made it to the bible cannon that were written under 'inspiration.' We can also thank religion for that. They have a lot to hide. Ever see Stigmata??? Excellent message for those that like to hide and deceive.

Hello to all and to answer the first part of your question.....

It is because these so-called shephards are what is described in JEREMIAH 23 and EZEKIEL 34.
Also they are just like the Pharisees in LUKE 20:46-47 where he says,

"Look out for the scribes who desire to walk around in robes and like greetings in the marketplaces and front seats in the synagogues and most prominent places at evening meals, 47 and who devour the houses of the widows and for a pretext make long prayers. These will receive a heavier judgement."

*Now lets see if they wouuld allow themselves to be housed during a cos visit by individuals that would be viewed down upon. Like sinners, harlots and tax collectors. Jesus did.
Lets see if they would truly be happy with fish and bread. (simple poor budget meal by a widow)

You were so tired you NEVER really paid much attention to it. Then after EVERYONE CLAPPED for 5 minutes. lol lol

As to Paul and ALL his writings.
Yes, he was a zealous brother of ours. But notice his letters were NOT written under inspiration. They were letters, commendation, readjustments to the congregations etc...
Yes he does mention things that were given him by the spirit, but his letters or books were not "written under inspiration" as was...
Moses, Psalms, Prophets and Revelation. (Luke 24:44-45)
Paul was just like one of us who have received holy spirit and on occasion speak of our flesh and not of our spirit. And yes there is a danger. That is why we daily receive correction and discipline and HIS sons. But as long as we are still in the flesh as even Paul mentions, "What we wish to do is not what we find ourselves doing."

In response to the question as to whether some bibles are accurate or 'tainted'.....

How many different people claim they use a certain translation because they like the way it reads, what it says, or its claim to be accurately translated. eg. word for word from original manuscripts.
How long we were convinced from the WTBS that the NWT and the way they explained the translators and what they went through to show us how accurate it truly was....
just to find out they have left out or mistranslated scriptures.
eg. REVELATION 5:10 (look at the original in their own greek bible)

One main reason for SO MANY different religions or sects is someone interprets the bible one way and feels it says this, and others agree and follow.
Why the need for so many differing religions?...when there is only ONE FAITH ONE LORD ONE BAPTISM?

Because people believe what they what to believe. People only hear what they want to hear. People only do what they want to do.

When one "allows" the spirit to truly lead them, and the law (the new covenant) is truly on their hearts... one does not have to "depend" on what is written. What is written serves as reminders and encouragement from other fellow christians in the past. But it is NOT what teaches us.
See IJOHN 2:26-29

With the spirit, even those that cannot read or see or comprehend much can have a relationship with God!
That is truly the beauty of why he reads the hearts of individuals.

Hello Kat:

Hope all is well for you.
I too only EVER had and read the NWT til I came out of the org.

A small word of caution though.....
remember all bibles have their flaws and errors. Many have been tainted to agree with whatever religion it was written to cater to.

2 Timothy 3:16 does says "ALL SCRIPTURE" is beneficial for etc etc etc....but it doesn't say "LIFE" is found by reading or studying the bible.
Please read JOHN 5:39 &40 when you have a minute and see what our lords invitation is and how one must get life.

And when you glance across it, YOU KNOW the finger is pointed at YOU!

Now let me quote a number one scripture that they use to disfellowship ones like me and I'm sure many of you all.

WHO may I ask is pushing ahead??? Taking up a position that does NOT belong to them as a man-made corporation of "OTHER SHEEP."

Now replace the words "teachings of Christ" with the words "WTBS"
and what do yo have?

You see...I personally have remained in the Christ. That is what allowed me see that replacing THEM with HIM was what was blinding me to truth. Only then was I unveiled to see that they have been used as men in charge to enslave the 'seed of Christ.' GALATIANS 4

So....as a result in THEIR EYES, we are the APOSTATES.

But rejoice as JOHN 16:2 says, "Men will expel you from the synagogue.
In fact, the hour is coming when everyone that kills you will imagine he has rendered a sacred service to God. But they will do these things because they have not come to know either the Father or the son."

So 'pushing ahead' of a NON SPIRITED-DIRECTED organization is exactly what our lord wants us to do. Not pushing ahead of him is what he doesn't what.

Met my first Elder after diassociation

well i met my first witness (and it would have to be an elder who i always got on well with) last night after my disassociation 3 weeks ago and i was not prepared for how hard it felt.

i had the most human reaction of recognising someone i knew and had to stop myself saying hi.

he just rushed past me.

I read some of your experience lately and LEAVING was the best thing you did.
Somewhere in your heart you were asking, "is this the truth?".....
we don't always HEAR what he tells us at LEAST at first. If you are like me, you were raised around the org and told there IS NOTHING ELSE!!!

Being out here ALL alone. What a nightmare (at least they think)
Your lord and father Jah have freed you from bondage to slavery under mans yoke. GALATIANS 5:1.
We were as GALATIANS chapter 4 describes while inside.

NOW where do you go???
That is not how Peter worded it in John 6:68
It was "WHOM shall we go away to?" It was Christ that they knew was THE TRUTH. John 14:6 pleas read it!

It is not a where or a what but a WHOM!!!
This organization has fulfilled what our master decribes in JOHN chapter 10.
But remember...Christ sheep know HIS voice and listen to IT and HE LEADS THEM! Not man PSLAMS 146:3,4 (Do not put your trust in them)

Coming to our father through his son is what he wants us to do. That is how we 'walk by faith' 'worship in spirit and truth' and 'keep our eyes on what is unseen'...

Yes it takes faith. That is why our lord said it was NOT the possession of ALL people.

In the org. EVERYTHING was based on SIGHT. "LOOK AT US!" Jehovah MUST be blessing us...
Take away what Jah is NOT concerned with (sight, strength, and numbers) and what do they have?
Folks living THEIRS LAWS that are written in the WT and other PUBS. Then just when you got that teaching and "NEW light" down,,,they change it again again and again..

Please read in your free time JOHN 6:48-59 and see what the holy spirit is saying is open to ALL.
Something we were denied inside as part of the great crowd.

ALL of Israel were allowed in that covenant as HIS people. To belong to the Christ. To be led by spirit.

if then, the bible says of my lord that he was 'without sin' and 'learned obedience from the things he suffered', for which he was made 'perfect'... tell me, please... if you know... when did he sin?.

Was the Apostle John crazy too when he said "My Lord"???

Revelation 7:14: "So right away I (John) said to him 'MY LORD', you are the one that knows."

Wait...he even answered poor ol crazy John and said, "These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb."

Point made! Since there is only "ONE lord, One faith, One baptism"...someone who has a PERSONAL relationship with HIM is now condemmned for calling upon him as "My lord"???

Adam Resurrected?

friday says adam will be resurrected?

i thought he was the cause of all the trouble the world is in?.

i thought the ultimate test was for a perfect man to decide whether or not they would submit to god's rule?.

Yes Adam and Eve will be ressurrected!

They MUST be judged!!!
ALL FLESH that did not take part in the first ressurecction and had died WILL come back. That is the general ressurrection that will take place at the end of the 1,000 yr reign.
They will be raised and then judged...The Lambs scroll is read!!!
They are either ressurrected to LIFE or they are ressurrected to JUDGEMENT (and then thrown into the lake of fire) destroyed both body and soul.

Yes they were told that "from dust you are and to dust you will return". That happened. But everlasting destruction is yet to take place for them. After they are raised and read!

Something we did NOT know in the org.
