Well, yeah, I did, to some extent. When I was young, I was able to work at a Refreshment Stand. One of the brothers would manage the stand. AT those district assemblies---in a large stadium like Dodger Stadium---loudspeakers had been routed into the Refreshment Stand, so we didn't have to go out into the seating area, to listen to the program. We could listen to the program inside the shaded area of the food stand. Thinking of assemblies---it has now been 54 years since the "Peace On Earth" International Assembly was held at Dodger Stadium. For 7 days, July 14th to July 20th. Is there anyone else who's reading this who was there? Just wondering. Best Regards, Everyone.---Titch.

Undisfellowshipping - ever heard of it happening?
by no-zombie inwhile we are aware of the flip-flopping of doctrinal matters, revisions to how certain sins are handled judicially have also occurred.
additionally, there has been rulings created by the governing body, that has put people into situations where 'sinning' (and their disfellowshiping) was inevitable.
for example in times past, it was issues over if one mate committed acts bestiality or when the parents of hemophiliac children allowed the use of blood fractions on them.

No-Zombie: Yes, I do remember that happening, a long time ago, in the 1970s. I am not an Elder nor ever was one. But I do remember one individual, who I'll only identify as Paul. He had been dis-fellowshipped for a few years. And, an announcement was made from the stage that his dis-fellowshippment from years ago had been rescinded, or undone, reversed. So, it did happen, in my collective memory. Best Regards.-----Titch.

would you be more happy not knowing what you now know?
by ExBethelitenowPIMA ina good question is would you be more happy not knowing what you now know?.

But, when I see the word "happy", I am reminded of the words of the fictional TV character, Dr. Martin Ellingham, from the British TV series "Doc Martin." (Played by actor Martin Clunes) His words: "I think that happiness is over-rated." So, I try to not get too caught up in "happiness" or "being happy" It's over-rated. Best Regards, Everyone.----Titch.

The Last Days of a Pioneer
by madisoncembre ini am starting a new topic since this blog entry is about something different.. i have posted before about my recent split with the jws.
no exit comes out of nowhere and there were seeds planted long before this.
i have never enjoyed field service.

Madison: You put together a great blog that is well-thought-out and constructed, and I congratulate you on that. Concerning that term "field circus." The person who has used that term on this site is a person who goes by the screen-name "WT Wizard". Concerning "field service", or "field circus": Personally, I DO NOT think or believe that it is "natural" for a person to go from door-to-door, to present his/her religious belief structure to other people. It just isn't. It might be comfortable to do that to one's immediate relatives, or to their immediate neighbors, or people that they work with or go to school with. But to complete strangers, from door-to-door? Nope. It just doesn't "sit right" with me. Well, thanks for your post. Best Regards-----Titch.

FatFreek: You're right....it was Peggy Lee. Well that's what happens when you get old, like me. The memory fades. Oh well. Yeah, Peggy Lee did make it a hit, back around 1969/1970. I've listened to the song many times on YouTube, and I still enjoy it to this day. Thanks for the clarification! Best Regards.....

St. George: Your comment kind of reminds me of a song, recorded by Patty Page, back in 1970, entitled "Is That All There Is?" You might remember it; the theme of the song was that after major life events happened, all that she could say was..."Is that all there is?" (Is that all there is to a circus? Is that all there is to a house fire? Is that all there is to a love relationship breakup? ) So, come November 6th, they'll be saying....Is that all there is....to a sealed, secret box? Is that all there is? Yeah, "is that all there is? Is that all there is? If that's all there is, my friend, then let's keep dancing...let's break out the booze, and have a ball...if that's all, there is."

To All Those Keen To Tell Us About Their Beliefs
by Simon inwe seem to have had an influx of religiots - the people who want to tell us all about how we / the wts / whoever are wrong, wrong, wrong about everything and how right they are.
they obviously have special insight, or voices (probably voices, right?
) telling them the real truth.. as proof, there is inevitably a wall of random scripture references and quotes.. sorry, but we're not here for that.

Folks: You know, there is a lot of truth to an acronym that I heard about years ago. It is: KISS. Which means, "Keep It Simple Sweetheart", or, "Keep It Short Sweetheart." And, that's all I'll say about that. Best Regards, Everyone.----Titch.

All UK telephone landlines being phased out.....
by BoogerMan in.....and replaced with voip by 2025. https://www.pmctelecom.co.uk/blog/are-landline-phones-being-phased-out-in-2025/.
just heard this on a radio station's advert..

That is interesting. I have two cellular phones, with service by TracFone, and they are "flip-phones" . One is kept in my car at all times, and the other one is kept inside my residence. BUT----I STILL have a landline phone in my residence. Because I WANT one. I still have a use for a regular land-line phone. With the two TracFones, I refill their airtime and days of use when I need to . Airtime cards all over the place, they can be bought at stores everywhere. Or, I can just call their toll-free number and refill the phones' airtime with a credit card. No problem. Best Regards, Everyone----Titch.

Why did you leave the organization of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by Vanderhoven7 ini've never been a witness so i never left.
graeme hammond writes:.
for some years i’d had a growing irritation and disillusionment with the religion: i was getting tired of the pompousness, the arrogance and the control, i felt increasingly choked by their restrictions and i was drained by their demands on my time.

With me, it was when I came to the full, complete realization, that I, as a human being, have no spiritual hunger, no spiritual cravings---that needed to be satiated or satisfied, by any religious belief system or structure. That's why I never turned to ANY religion, after I faded out. Best Regards. Titch.

Biden running in 2024 🤣
by LoveUniHateExams ini've filed this under news and world events, although i could've posted it under entertainment, lol.
apparently, joe biden will be seeking re-election for another term in the white house.. this, despite a recent poll showing that 70% of people don't want him to run again.. biden just has to be the worst president i've seen.
his gaffes, over-relience on a prompter, and, more than any other president, his refusal to answer journalists' questions, all go to make him top of the list in terms of bad presidents.. it will certainly provide entertainment, if nothing else..

Personally, I do believe that the political situation here in the United States is so screwed up, that I don't even want to consider voting for a President come 2024. I am a registered voter, and I am registered as a Democrat. But---I feel that the Democratic Party should put forward a strong Presidential Candidate who will be able to stand up to the absolute bully that Donald J. Trump is and has been. It has to do that---it must do that. Now I don't know if the Republican Party will nominate D.J. Trump as their Candidate of choice in 2024. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. But, if I were to register as a Republican, and Michael Pence were to declare his candidacy for President in 2024, and his name were to be on the Primary Election ballot here in California where I live, i would vote for Michael Pence. And why is that? Because I have much more respect for Mr. Pence than I do for Donald J. Trump. Much more respect. For doing the right thing back in January of 2021, and standing up for principle, and standing up to the bullying of Donald Trump, and adhering to the U.S. Constitution; and doing no more or less than the Constitution allowed him to do. But, we'll see what happens in 2024. As I started out, I have become so disillusioned by the political situation here in the United States, that I might just "sit this one out"---the 2024 Presidential Election. Let the "chips fall where they may." Best Regards, Everyone-----Titch.
