When you realized that it was all a lie.. how did you cope?
by stuckinamovement ini realized about a year ago after much lurking here, that the truth was in fact a lie.
it rocked me to my core to come to the understanding that everything that i have been taught, believed in and taught people myself was in fact not true.
when you are a born in like myself, the teachings of the wts become all you know.

So...the bible doesnt say to follow the faithful and discreet slave...CORRECT?

Yep. for what its worth. I totally understand how you feel, but the more I wake up the more I realize none of this is rocket science. we are just in so far that it "feels deep".. it gets better.

Stuck, you and i have talked and we are both in the same spot. My biggest concern is not the org but my wife. like yours she is shutting down when I bring small things up... I know her well enough that I suspect Elderelite is going to fly solo eventually... so be it. I can still hang out with my dear old grandad..

LOL the WORST day in service (and that is saying something) i ever had was with a CO and a DO in the same car. It was a group of six, four young brothers and those two. The CO was a very nice guy but got mute cause the DO was there and he (the DO) lit into me, personally, all day for everylittle thing. Thankfully I was about 18 or so and took it with a grain of salt, I even ended up laughing at him because after a while it was just funny, but my god what a little monster!!!!! his name was Frank Bartel and from that day forward everyone in the car group just refered to him as the "little monster"..

physically and emotionally.. as a entered my adult life i had next to no self esteem, in part because he didn't really attempt to help me get some because i didn't chose the career path that he dreamed for me.. 2 years ago i forgave him.
i let go of the anger that i had for him because i knew that when it was all said and done, he did what he did and i believe that he did his best.

I can understand, on a personal level, the power of forgivness. Often when "forgiving" a parent we realize that they are simply doing what was done to them or treating us how they were treated. We break the cycle and forgive them without repeating the mistake.
I do not forgive an organization that KNOWS its full of shit, as shown by its constant changes in teaching, but cries more and more that they are "spirit directed" and the ONLY true religion. H E L L no... an org that has millions of truly devoted people that they put in the line of fire over a blood doctrine that is obviously nonsense.. so many things to cite, but the answer is I would no sooner forgive the org than I would the Nazi's. They both will believe in themselves until the bitter end

by elderelite insince you've been fingered as a troll i though i would give you a forum to tell us your story.. perhaps you could include details such as why you come to this site, how you found your way here, why you post, what cong your in, whether or not you are currently serving in some capacity.. anything you think would help us know you better.

I thank you mad for taking this seriously and posting some of your story... It is interesting and very much like many others...
however I must point out to you that there was no first centry "organization", at least not as such. An honest reading of the scriptures shows they were individual congregations, and the apostles were not a Governing Body that ran things, but rather as those directly taught by the christ they had unique insight. That insight isn't shared by anyone since no one today was personally taught by the christ. Perhaps, in line with what you wrote about researching the bible, you could research the history of the first centry congregation, not as taught by JW's but as taught by the bible itself.

I love it when mrs elite and I get into the car and I can crank something old from the ipod.. the kids are like 'aw dad not again' but she loves it and so do i.. thats the connection i enjoy (as long as she's also good in bed)
