  yesterdays game would have been the icing on the cake if it wasn't for the idiocy of lehmann in the closing minutes of extra time.

  HOW ABOUT MENTIONING JESUS AT THE MEMORIAL!

  well i went last night...........did anyone else notice how the talk focused almost exclusively on the 144,000???

  jesus was barely mentioned.

  the first couple of minutes talked about when the israelites left egypt and the passover was instituted.

  I my self came to that conclusion. Even though I live in Greece I made the same observations. This year, the Memorial was focusing the 144000. Not much about Jesus. It seems that the GB gave the new Memorial talk to all the congregations world wide.

  When I have done the Memorial talk 12 years ago it was much different. This year all they focus was the annointed class and how many are still alive from 1935 were was the end of the heavingly calling.

  It seems to me that while time goes by(actually they shouldn't have 8400 annointed ones if the calling has and that year-1935, and this number it has been the same for the past 15 years. If someone was 20 years old back in 1935 that means it is now 94!!! ) WT will need more efford to convince the rank and file of JW's that this dogma it is correct, or again they will find another new date to set again for the annointed class.

  which one teaching really hurt you when you found out that it was not true?

  my number one thing is finding out that the name "jehovah" was not in the bible like it was in the new world translation (tm).

  christians did not call god "jehover" "jehovah" or by his first name, no more than you would call your father by his first name when you were a child.

  The Watchtower Attendance Crisis

  if the average congregation has about 83 publishers in the us, then the organization may be sinking into a crisis.. take that 83 and consider that half the congregations may have less.. take away '15 minute publishers' who don't attend.

  take away completely fake publishers who rarely attend.

  take away increasingly tired publishers who 'feel sick', are depressed, or just want to stay at home and watch tv.. .

  And in my country we have similar situation like in U.S. Congregations are about 75-100 publishers, like the one I attend sometimes. We have about 90. Take out 15 that they are old in age, plus young children, the "spiritually weak ones" then you can hardly count 50. In the W.T study you can hardly count 75.

  Indeed W.T in few years time it will need new active members!!!

  What is the mood in the Kingdom Halls nowadays?

  when i used to go the meetings in the late 80's, the mood was good, knowing that the end was close.

  later on in the 90's while i still attended once in a while, people were starting to be less zealous and were starting to put their needs before those of the kingdoms.

  people started to buy houses, instead of living in apartements, they were buying nicer cars, taking vacations far away, and mostly, the women started to work, to help pay for the better life style they were living.

  Making 607 crumble

  during my eight month long study with "elder bob" (moms husband) we have batted around many subjects to say the least.

  but the one that really stands out is the dreaded date of 607 bc.

  im sorry i just will not let up with this date, and him having to prove it can stand.

  Actually there was a flood and Noahs flood it is a copy of an older Sumerian Myth the story of Gilgamesh....It is not possible to put all those animals and give them food for all those days. It takes a great deal of efford to keep alive all those animals with food...

  Because there were earth changes earth was flooded many times, especially when the ice age finished.

  In the region of Mesopotamia(Iran, Iraq, Turkey) there was a flood that did occured before 5500 years, and that is the flood of Noah...

  It was a regional flood and the animals that Noah put in the Ark there were Animals that live in that area like Lions, Tigers, horses, dogs, cats, rabits, not many spieces but also small comparing to elephants, hippos, and some other that they live in Africa...

  Actually we have in our Greek mythology similar myth (like everywere in the world)of a flood. The only difference it is that we have a story of 3 floods. Gods destroyed the earth 3 times with the flood because people have sin.
