How the new "generation" study went down in the meeting today
by slimboyfat ini made a big effort to get to the watchtower study today.
i have not been to the meetings much for months, but i figured this was a pretty historic "study" and i wanted to see reactions and how it would go down locally.
well a few things struck me as a bit odd in the study itself, and in the audience response as well.

I just hate how does the WT is playing with the dubs. I was teenager at the 80's and I do recall almost all the articles regarding the famous generation that it will not passed away. You can fill libraries regarding this subject with WT material...my God they are so blind...
Because of the generation my life and many other have ruined..we have stayed uneducated, spend our lifes preaching a false gospel. I can imagine bact in the 80's if someone would have said that they will be a change in the "understanding" of the generation it would have been disfellowshiped for apostasy...or that in the year 2008 we wouldn't be in "paradise"...
Dirty old men, with twisted minds, and a banch of blind leaders that they are leading millions into the pit
If only I had opened my eyes before 15 years, I would have save my self from a lot of trouble

Tribute to Mrs. Flipper - Happy Birthday to my Sweet Wife !
by flipper inwell my wife turned another year younger yesterday - had my son and his girlfriend visiting so i couldn't post too much as we were busy celebrating !
i can truly say that having been in a couple bad relationships years before i met mrs. flipper that being with her the last 2 years plus ( married year and a half now ) has been the happiest years of my life.
the positive energy and great hilarious humor she brings to my life is one of the magic formula's that help , i believe , a couple get through the stress of living in day to day life with the pressures we all face.

The Death Penalty? What do you think?
by Country Girl ini, as most persons, think a sexual assault of a child is a very horrible thing.
like most parents, i would want to put the person to death that assaulted my child in that way, but is that just?
i'm two ways about it: i feel for the child, and the child's family; but at the same time i am wondering if it is deserving of death?

I do support death penaly, specially for child abusers and any one who hurts an innocent soul.

I ATTENDED A JW FUNERAL YESTERDAY---WOW!
by Terry inback in 1959 i became best friends with a fellow who was instrumental in my becoming a jehovah's witness.
yesterday i attended his mother's funeral.. from the time i was 12 years old i became a part of johnny's family and got to know his mother, jennie, very well.
in fact, she was more instrumental in convincing me there was intellectual merit to the reasoning process of consulting the bible and drawing jw conclusions than any of the arguments johnny and i had.. fast forward a bit.

I agree Terry of what you said...There is 2 years that I'm disfellowshiped, separated with my wife, and left the 2 small kids with her, and I know what is the feeling.
I agree they are only humans and have feelings like the rest. It is just the cult mentality that keeps them traped. I went to the "memorial" this year and one friend of mine and "elder" he welcome me and give a hug...he was the only one who spoke to me....
It is a shame how does the WT ruins peoples lifes and relations

JW's and divorce...higher or lower than average, or just average?
by gaiagirl indo jw's enjoy more stable, happier marriages as a result of applying "bible principles", or does the stress of toeing the line make their marriages break up more frequently?
or, do they pretty much match the national average?
.

From my personal expierience in my country I would say it is higher than the average. There are many divorces due to fornication and other subjects...
Few examples:
1. Wife's elder(abusive husband) leaves the house and has an affair
2.Ministerial servants wife(abusive husband)leaves the house because he was violent and she hit her when she was bregrant...she lost the babe and as a result she cannot have children
3.Ministerial servants wife(abusive husband)leaves the house because she had an affair with a wordly person
4.Another case like the one above but the husband wasn't abusive she has an affair with wordly person and he gets baptized!!!(nice way to bring dubs in the Org!!!)
5.Elders wife has an affair and leaves the house
6.Ministerial servants wife she was lesbian
7.A couple gets divorce both in the "truth"and they get married with another "faithfull"mate...
8. A very rich witness still in the "truth" because he gives lot of money and presents to the Org and the CO's, he left his wife, and stay's in a luxury villa. Everyone knows that he is hanging around with nice women but they don't have a proof!!! By the way he got a sexual transmitted dissease...money will cover a multitude of sins...said St. Paul
9. Ministerial servant leaves the wife and kid because he liked to hang to strip clubs....
10. A couple of special pioneers seperated because the wife has an affair
I mean this are few cases that I remember in my country that we got 2000 JW's!!! I can imagine what is happening in the rest of the Western World...
Ther reason is that JW's are getting married because they need sex...after that problems arise. Personality etc etc. The stupid logic of the WT that when both are JW's and they are in good standing and they love Jehovah is okey, it just creates more problems, since the Org likes to contol every aspect of a JW life including marriage

3 a.m. - my wife is in tears! What do I do?
by The Scotsman inwell my situation has developed a bit, any advice appreciated.. their has been a gradual building up of pressure ever since i stood down as an elder about 6 months ago.. i have been telling my wife about my doubts but have continued to attend "some" meetings.. as time has progressed i have become more open with my criticism of the org.. i mentioned the un scandal, molestation trials, false prophecy ect etc.. interestingly she does not deny these facts and yet still wants to continue as a jw.. i told her that god is not happy with people knowingly being part of a false prophet (deut 18 - etc) - starting to lay the groundwork for my exit.. she appreciates the difficult situation doubters are in - they cannot openly express their feelings for fear of jcs.. anyway, a few weeks ago we moved house which meant changing congregation.. but i felt it would be best if i did not attend meetings " at all" at the new cong so my fade could be easier.. but i could not have predicted my wifes response - when i told her it was an explosion of emotion, i mean real heartbreaker stuff.. she seems depressed at the prospect, perhaps the reality is finally hitting home.. last night, about 3a.m.
i noticed that she was not in bed.
i went downstairs and she was sobbing away to herself.. "i can't go to that hall myself!

I can feel you dude...I had the same situations. The only thing is that I was reported to the elders for having apostate ideas from my wife...
I got way with it 8 years ago, but before 2 years she reported me again for apostasy. That was the end. I didn't wanted to continue being part of a circus made in USA so I was disfellowshiped for apostasy, and left home because there was no way to live with a person that loves the Organization more than me...
I don't know how your wife feels about the Org but if she loves the Org more than you she will turn you for apostasy. This is the sad world of the JW'S my friend. We don't own nothing there. The Org owns our children our wife and everything...that is really sad
