The Way JW Females Act
by LaurenM inthe more i interact with non-jw men and women the more i notice that i still behave like a jw woman.
when i interact with people (men especially) i find myself being super submissive and docile.
acting like i don't have a brain and can't make decisions on my own.

I love this! Bravo. And you're lucky to have a husband too. It's scary getting out of a cult by yourself. But definitely worth it. -

Acting like I don't have a brain and can't make decisions on my own. Giving so much up just to please them. Like, I do everything to please them without thinking about whether it makes ME happy. But that's the way we've always been taught over and over: Women must be submissive to the man taking the lead. But I feel like this is a bit backwards & excessive in this day and age. Do any other exJW woman find themselves acting this way? How did you learn to stand up for yourself and not always bend to what others tell you to do? I think I've become an easy target for people looking to take advantage of others. -

Disturbing how Christians Feel about Non-Christians
by LaurenM inso i posted a question on yahoo answers asking about what christians feel god feels about non-christians.
the overwhelming answer was that he feels they must convert to christianity or risk hell/death/distruction (john 3:16).
i just don't understand how this could be!

Yes, true. But it seems like ALL Chriatian denominations (well all that I've encountered) teach the exact same thing :( -

That's very true! And each person believes their own belief is true and everyone else's is false. -

So I posted a question on Yahoo answers asking about what Christians feel God feels about non-Christians. The overwhelming answer was that he feels they must convert to Christianity or risk hell/death/distruction (John 3:16). I just don't understand how this could be! If God is love, how could God destroy, for example, the 1.6 billion Muslims in this world who are devout, love their families, want to be happy and could not dream of leaving their faith. Why would God do that?
But if you believe in the bible, you have to believe that he would, he'd also kill all homosexuals too by that matter
I'd like to believe in a higher being, but how could an omniscient God be so prejudice and narrow minded to think that "righteous" and "unrighteous" can be judged based solely on the premise of whether the person thinks Jesus is their savior and lives accordingly. There are good and bad people of every path and faith. Logic 101!
What do Christians/non-christians have to say about this?

WT Study 1/10/16 Encouraging Child Baptism And More Nonsense
by JW_Rogue ini've noticed that each wt lesson really only has one or two points they want remembered.
normally they build up to these by about the third subheading.
this week's lesson though was different, the main point was insidiously made through an experience in the first paragraph:.

I was baptized at 12 and I didn't truly believe it even then...but I did it to please my parents. Most kids want to please their parents and trust their parents and don't understand the ramifications of such a serious action as baptism...there was a kid who got baptized at 7 last assembly...so sad. -

Share Your Personal Experiences Please!
by LaurenM inso since leaving the borg i've made quite a few stupid mistakes, hurting myself a lot..but i finally feel like i've learned and i think, in time, i'll find my happiness again...even more happiness that i could've ever had being a jw.. but my question to you guys is, what was your experience like leaving the borg?
did you struggle at all?
how long have you been out?

Haha you're funny brandnew...and I agree that's a good thing to keep in mind Airborne. It's not an easy transition finding your wings after being part of a cult. Perhaps that's why it takes time & isn't an easy process. -

So since leaving the Borg I've made quite a few stupid mistakes, hurting myself a lot..but I finally feel like I've learned and I think, in time, I'll find my happiness again...even more happiness that I could've ever had being a JW.
But my question to you guys is, what was your experience like leaving the Borg? Did you struggle at all? How long have you been out? What is your life like now? Is it happy? I still have this unshakeable, irrational feeling that Jehovah will/is punishing me for what I've done..although I know that's not true. Please share!
