I was sorta watching it. I think they were doing interviews with different groups of believers as to what their take on it was. I don't think there was any real authoritative date given-just opinions. They also interviewed some who stated that the antichrist is not meant to be literal,and is a metaphor for learning to deal with the "evil" in each person.It would have been more balanced if they would have included comments/info provided by nonbelievers.

What I found interesting was how the JWs differred from the beliefs of dispensationalists.

LOL! When the commercial for the program on Armageddon came on, how many exJWs were thinking "Har-Mageddon" every time they said it. My brain when on automatic correct mode to the old JW term.

Oy, does the programming ever fade?LOL

Radical Apostasy v Liberal Apostasy

in the wake of the 'dannygate' issue it made me think about the impact of apostasy and it various forms and on some level how it equates to the feminist movement and its development over the years.. initially, the radical feminist movement were and are the typical man hating, bra burning cross section who undoubtedly moved womens rights foward significantly and to some degree still do.

without the radical feminist movement, the likelihood of the liberal and more balanced feminist movements ever existing would have been uncertain if not improbable.

so indirectly the feminist movement owes a lot to those radicals who were out there burning bra's and linching men (i was joking about the last bit).

i'm geting confused, and part of that is that the elders handbook seems to kind of leave this up to each congo in some ways, which is pathetic.

we have all the other exact rules, lets have one here so faders do not accidentally cross the line.

just recently was a great thread where the father was turned in by his wife for just getting c of c, and i don't believe he would have been df'd for that, or even reading that, but he chose to take a firm stand and he deserves respect for that.

funny thing is, ive been taught from infancy that the word simply meant "garden", which sounds lovely and desirable.

JW visit after 4 years

a couple of jws came to my door last saturday.

i knew one of them from my old congregation.

i am da'd, and thanks to a nosy jw lady who happens to work at our bank, the elders have our new address (they told me that's who they got it from).

Hey,

Thanks for the advice, everyone. The address incident actually happened four years ago. I would probably report her now, but then was still pretty freshly out of the org and not up to it at that point.

Edited to add:

They never came back, but I do expect another visit. Just learned my mother is back involved with them again and sicked the JWs on my sister, lol.
