T's thread and some life experiences have got me to wondering about this. I honestly am not sure if I know what a nice guy/woman is (odd thing to admit, half way through my life). The WTS defined nice guy as spiritual, striving to "take the lead", putting Jehovah first in all things, a "responsible family head"(open to the interpretation of local needs, lol).A nice woman is above all, submissive, putting Jehovah and hubby first, and hard working. I always thought you know a nice guy when you see one, but life doesn't always work out that way. A lot of men and women who are unfailingly nice to everyone else are downright despotic toward their spouse and children.I'm always amazed when incidents of abuse become public, and so many people say "but he/she seemed like such a nice guy/woman." So to all of you who have worn a little tread off on the road of life, what is your definition of nice? Thanks, Cicatrix

OOOOhh-the line. Yep, heard that before, from a "bad" guy I totally worshipped. I later found out that it really WAS him...he was boinking my cousin while I was out of town visiting my grandma. Then I specifically set out to find a nice guy, and thought I had. After we'd been together for four months, said nice guy asked me if he could have a threesome with me and said cousin!! So I started writing to Bad Boy, telling him how special our relationship had been, how no one would ever make me feel the way he did, ladaladalada. Sure enough, he came back to visit that summer and begged me to move out of state with him. Nice Guy got to find out what it felt like to have a little competition himself. It almost ended up in blows in my front yard, but my mother ordered them off the property and threatened to call the police. It was all pretty entertaining for me. Later, while Nice Guy was at work, I met Bad Boy and a group of friends, and we spent a pleasant day together (I requested the chaperones, lol). Bad Boy told me that he was living with a woman back home, but that things just "weren't working out" and he could move her out if I wanted to come back with him. I told him I'd think about it, then went home. Nice Guy asked me what I planned to do. I asked him if he would have a threesome with me and Bad Boy, seeing as he knew so well that one can love one person with all thier heart and lust after another, no harm done. Well, he didn't think that was such a good idea, with the shoe on the other foot and all. I saw Bad Boy later on that day when I was going to the grocery store. He demanded that I give him an answer right there in the parking lot. So I told him that after some serious thought, I'd decided not to go with him afterall. I told him that it would never work out, as we had both changed too much.

JW's Struggling With Desiderata?
by Englishman inon a number of occasions over the years, although not recently, i've seen jw's turn up their noses at my copy of desiderata that hangs inside our house.. the only comment i've managed to elicit has been a snorting "humph"!.
do they perceive it as a threat do you think?.
it is after all, a wonderful piece of writing that has an appeal to both christians and atheists generally.. i like it, don't you?.

Well, it was a good thing that the aspiring circuit overseer's wife didn't see it when she "invited" herself in to my bedroom. She was too busy being incensed about my king sized waterbed with the mirrored canopy to notice my little poem on the wall, lol.

by ScoobySnax inok freeze frame today.......out of all the interactions with others and goings-on, was there anything remotely interesting that happened to you today?
today is probably a typical day, in your probable and predictable all too short life.... this 24 hours was probably similar to yesterday and maybe similar to tommorow.
but i want to know what was the most interesting thing that happened personally to you.

I heard from a friend of mine who wants to come and visit me in May, while I was making my first homemade brownie ice cream fudge cake, which was waaaay better than restaurant fare, and I wonder why I didn't start making them years ago:) I'm not sure if that's one or two things, but they happened simultaneously.

Desiderata was considered "evil"? Well, I'll be. I never knew that in all my twenty years as a Witness! I always thought it was a lovely poem-did a calligraphy copy of it for one of my sisters when she graduated from high school, and had a copy on my bedroom wall.

Heatmiser, If you click into the other topics, it takes you to the official WTS site.Your crap o meter is working just fine:) This is kind of like those commercials they've been playing in our area on the importance of family. The first time we saw one, my daughter was with some Mormon friends of hers. They were all shocked that the WTS is copying the Mormons, lol.

Thank you Patio! We just moved, and have been looking for an organic egg supplier. Come to find out from this site, there's one just up the road:) My fourteen year old son and I listened to a PBS program that featured the Fast Food Nation author. He was so fascinated by it, he had me check the book out of the library for him. Surprisingly, he cut his consumption of fast food way back. Being a teen, I figured he'd just deem the information as overblown hype.
