Nickolas: I thoroughly enjoyed reading those pages in The God Delusion where Dawkins shredded the watchtower's swiss cheese reasoning.

Evolution vs. Watchtower Society
by FrankWTower ina few months ago i had a part in the service meeting about evolution.
it was based on the reasoning book's entire section on the topic.
my conscience bothered me because it was the scientific method and science in general that led me to doubt my beliefs in the first place.

Hey Dan...I'll echo what everyone else has said: just hang in there!
I thought zoiks offered an important reason to be strong in this difficult time..."Do what you need to do to stay safe and sane and to be there for your son."

NASA scientist finds evidence of alien life
by darthfader inhttp://news.yahoo.com/s/digitaltrends/nasascientistfindsevidenceofalienlife.
that astonishingly awesome claim comes from dr. richard b. hoover, an astrobiologist at nasas marshall space flight center, who says he has found conclusive evidence of alien life fossils of bacteria found in an extremely rare class of meteorite called ci1 carbonaceous chondrites.
(there are only nine such meteorites on planet earth.

How far are you on your journey away from the JW Org?
by punkofnice ini mentally left the org in march 2010. i stepped down as an elder after my lad got into trouble.
i researched the publications to make myself 'spiritually strong' but it backfired.. i was in mental and emotional turmoil, still on fs, the platform and meetings etc.
i had to force myself to conform to ever failing jw doctrine.. i announced to my family that i was not going back to meetings in august 2010 after the 'overlapping' joke of 'new light'.. i told the elders not to call.

miseryloveselders and Franklin Massey: How do you do it? I simply can't fathom pulling that off. That's equally impressive to me as what must be your level of frustration.

Kenny G...what a head of hair. My "cool quotient" in grade 8 wasn't quite as low as that...but close, very close.

Did you feel your BOE was spirit directed?
by pontoon inwhen i was first appointed i did, not me myself, but the body as a whole.
good group of spiritual men.
at first a pleasure to serve with them.

Yes, believed it at one point. Never served on a BOE though. But going thru a few JCs was what started opening my eyes - no spirit direction at all. Just a bunch of men...idiots mostly.

unshackled, if you divulge your true identity, I'll start a slow clap for your extraordinary display of courage.
Awesome Cheez...I'd love a slow clap. True identity: Kenny G
A little pee just slipped out. That's brutal, my friend. I'm assuming that the ladies weren't throwing their panties up on stage?
Brutal indeed, Falcon. BTW, thanks for starting a topic that dug up a longtime repressed memory. And no, no panties. Funny thing is you didn't have to say what you were playing. Just thought everyone would think it was a great piece of music! After class two girls asked me if I played in church. Busted.
((((((( Unshackled ))))))) here's a hug for bravery or just not knowin' any better, we were all guilty of not knowin' any better so don't feel bad
Thanks wasblind...it was really lame. Talk about misspent youth.

Guilty...I was a nerdy keener in my early to mid teens...at least I thought I "made the truth my own".
Okay, this might be the most embarrassing thing I've ever admitted to: for an assignment in junior high band class I played "Make the Truth Your Own" in front of the class...on the saxophone. Okay, gotta go kick my own ass now for that one.

Wish I could say yes...but I've been out a long time now. But wouldn't that be great to get labelled with that? I'd get a t-shirt done up "Guilty of Brazen Conduct" and wear it proudly.

Started fading 10 years ago. Haven't been in a KH for about 8 or 9 years. No contact with my JW family members for about 5 years. Forunately do have some siblings not in the cult...they are my only "real" family.
