It's for my thesis, that's why I was writing it. I thought it was pretty amusing, but I don't think the markers would!

True Funny WW2 Experience
by JW83 inthis is taken from daily telegraph, sydney, 22.9.42, after a convention had not been allowed to go ahead.
mrs inez stoop, a jws tract distributor, said yesterday: 'do not ask me why the conference was not held.
you are from a newspaper, and all newspapers and their reporters are of the devil.

Explanation: During WW2 newspaper copy was censored before it could be published. This story was brought to the censor's attention because it involved a banned organisation, JWs. So I got this story from newspaper copy which passed before the censors (in a letter between censors, I think) & I haven't checked whether it was actually printed or not. I got it from the actual government file on censorship WW2 re Jehovah's Witnesses (National Archives, Canberra). It would be an easy matter to check whether it was published or not, but that isn't really important except for the issue of access.
In other words, a journalist wrote this story & the censors checked it. Whether it made publication or not has no relevance to its authenticity.
Hope this helps!

Hi, I was in the same situation just after high school. I don't know how it works in the US, but here there are always share houses for uni kids - you pay a fifth of the rent, or whatever, & live off cans of tuna - get a part-time job to pay for it, it works out okay. We don't have fees for school here, though.
If you absolutely can't get by without your parent's support, then just bite the bullet & do it. Education is priceless, & as soon as you have finished, you can move out & live your own life!

Letting go.....
by bikerchic insometimes when i'm feeling stuck and all the jw "stuff" of my past overwhelms me i get out my old recovery literature and go through it.
this little gem really helped me recently and i thought i would share it with you, maybe it will help someone else struggling with the "what ifs" of life and moving on.. .
letting go.

Hi Bikerchic
To "let go" is not to adjust everything to my desires but to take each day as it comes, and cherish myself in it.
I like that one - I always think that I can change people. Sometimes it works, often it doesn't. Cherishing yourself is a great concept!
