  the scuttlebut doing the rounds in the uk is that armageddon is coming on 12--12--2012.. yeah right ( i'm a 1975 survivor ).

  but--it occurred to me--if this rumour went wordwide--like on youtube---the result could be like the sparlock thing--or the conti case--and cause significant embarrassment to our brothers at the top.. .

  i really think it is a misconception to say leaving the jw's will destroy you and/or your family.. .

  many people here stay as jw's despite posting very opposing views and beliefs.

  i understand the difficulty of family reprisal.

  S & R--i agree with you 100%

  however --jw family members react in different ways. my 3 kids shunned me ( for 25 years )--no doubt to please their mother rather than god. 1 son got d/f'd a couple of years back--now--thanks to FB & his sensible girlfriend--we are in touch again.

  my jw father--now 91--has never shunned me--blood being thicker than water.

  it takes all sorts--in the world & out.

  i thought the man--the husband --is head of the house--whether he's a j-dub or not.

  why not lay down a few rules--see what happens--at the worst--you will soon find out where you stand.
