  i am very angry, pent-up rage call it!

  so you will understand why and with great ease this subject is able to flow off my tongue onto the keyboard, because this time of the year is worse than your christmas time jitters!

  anxiety, stress, compulsive babbling nuts are invading our service groups!

  shunning wrecks families

  thread started to avoid going off topic elsewhere.. this matter of shunning---my story.. i made the decision to resign from the jw religion in my early twenties--i'm 65 now.

  i knew i would never deny any of mine a blood transfusion--just to appease this religion --and its deity.. my jw wife had just had our first child--a girl---and we went on over the next 7 years to have 2 more planned for kids---both boys.

  i like to think i was a good dad--they meant everything to me.. i hold up my hand and admit i caused the break up of that marriage---my wife stayed in the religion--and--apparently it was announced in the kh i couldnt be d/f'd---as i hadnt been a jw for years---so they said i was an apostate.. fast forward a few years--into the mid 80's---i had remarried--and led a relatively normal life.

  this matter of shunning---my story.

  i made the decision to resign from the jw religion in my early twenties--i'm 65 now. i knew i would never deny any of mine a blood transfusion--just to appease this religion --and its deity.

  my jw wife had just had our first child--a girl---and we went on over the next 7 years to have 2 more planned for kids---both boys. i like to think i was a good dad--they meant everything to me.

  i hold up my hand and admit i caused the break up of that marriage---my wife stayed in the religion--and--apparently it was announced in the KH i couldnt be d/f'd---as i hadnt been a jw for years---so they said i was an apostate.

  fast forward a few years--into the mid 80's---i had remarried--and led a relatively normal life. As my kids entered their early teens--they took the decision to shun me. i tried all roads to try to get over this--legal advice--talking to social workers--school teachers--family doctor--friends. all to no avail. remember--this was years before the internet--no--helpful support sites like this.

  so--by my late 30's i had lost all contact with my kids--they each got married--i was never invited to their weddings. they had children---i still have only met 2 of them--once. i dont even know all their names. SIX of them live just 8 miles away from me.

  my older son--now 36--left the religion in recent years--his marriage had failed--he got disfellowshipped. he now has regular contact with me--and is getting married again later this year. ive been invited to the wedding! (it was his 2 kids i met )

  but now--he has not seen his 2 for a year now--shunning strikes again. he has spent £ thousands on legal costs trying to keep some kind of contact--now all to no avail. sadly--a case of history repeating itself.

  in my opinion--this religion--this cult---serves no useful purpose. it survives--in the western world anyway---through this fear tactic of shunning.

  the watchtower is directly responsible for wrecking my family.

  with the new pope franciscus in mind, i was thinking about our new gb member mark sanderson.. how is our mark chosen to be one of the 8 members of the gb / fds?

  are there internal headhunters at the watchtower hq?.

  here is a photo of a gilead instructor (br.

  liverance) teaching a class on chronology.. the photo appears in a blog entry dated 5-21-2005.. note the "6,000" and "1,000" periods in the timeline drawn on the whiteboard.. i thought the 7,000 year creative day was no longer taught, but apparently it still is at gilead, at least in the year 2005..   i know there are numerous examples of crazy, whacked out stuff that the wtbts taught that most of here now realize were just that...... crazy and whacked......... but do you know how insane some of the stuff in that original 1961 bible was?.

  I was so grateful when the Bibles were finally printed in black in 1981 (?)

  interesting (well--almost )---over here in the UK we had "proper" versions--black--flexible cover--gold leaf edging---in the mid 60's--i was pioneering then--in birmingham--and we sold--sorry--placed---lots of them in the west indian immigrant community. as we got them at pioneer rates--they were a good little earner.

  i wonder if the wotsoc kept back the supply of these black editions--and fobbed off other parts of the world with the green jobs.

  i remember the 5 separate sections--plus the "christian greek" part-0--and werent they also bound as one big fat green single edition?

  good thread.

  i'm going through a lonely phase in life now--but largely of my own choosing:

  my second wife--of 24 years---died 5&1/2 years ago--and i jumped into a new relationship on the rebound--marrying a year later. i know it was because i dreaded the thought of being lonely.

  it didnt work out--and she walked a year ago. but--we started seeing each other again 3 months later. shes just moved into a new place--i helped her with the costs---but i really do think we ought to cut ties now.

  after she left--i had a live-in girlfriend for a few weeks--a lovely philipina who had to go home when her visa expired.

  so--now i'm coming to terms with single life--and the lonliness. i find the internet is a great help--i'm on several forums--and facebook--and spend hours pecking away at the keyboard.

  WT Society holds EXTREME Responsibility for 1975 and False Expectations

  however- many jw's who have come into the jw organization from like 1985 forward virtually may have no knowledge of the wt society's 1975 debacle and false predictions of the end times or armageddon predictions.

  just like in in the book 1984 by george orwell the wt society has a way of not only erasing it's history so no newer witnesses will be aware of their false predictions, but also they are re-writing their history as if those false predictions never happened.. so for those of you here who may have never read or heard of how whipped up into an emotional frenzy witnesses were in the years just before 1975 by the wt society claiming the end was any day now- this threads for you.

  to see the pressure that was put on jw's by the wt society to get rid of everything before " armageddon " .

  those of us--pre--75---obviously realised it was all a test by the governing body----they just wanted to find those stupid enough to make them elders in the post 75 years.

  its amazing how all these years later this silly little cult still exists-----have the followers no brain cells at all?
