  Gerrit Loesch was at our DC today!

  so, unexpectedly, the final talk was announced today and to my surprise and evil glee, they announced gerrit loesch as the speaker!

  first off, at the beginning of his talk, he interrupted himself in the middle of his sentence to scold the microphone brother to lower my mike it's right in my face.. anyway, it was the talk on inspired truth, vs. inspired falsehoods.

  he went through 6 expressions inspired by the demons.

  I just want a divorce!

  hi there, this is my first post, but i've been buzzing around this site for years.. i got married at 18, hubby was 20, i was a regular pioneer and we were talking about serving in bethel.

  fast forward - i left in 2004 after a 5 year battle with my conscience, family and friends who kept insisting that i was just "weak and needed to have another bible study".

  however hubby and i stayed together although it was kinda on the understanding that we would just not talk about it.

  hello bornfree--i'm in the UK too. if you divorce after 2 years separation--your "other half" has to agree to it--err--will yours--?

  in your case--with properties involved--and minor children---life gets very complicated--so a solictor/ lawyer becomes far more important--£kerching.

  also--in the UK--if you do divorce--that in itself could be the beginning of ongoing fiancial issues--so a "clean break" agreement is needed--more £kerching.

  on a side note--ive bumped my exjw UK thread--in case you havent seen it before whilst lurking here.

  no more assemblies or conventions.... no more service meetings, book studies, bible studies..... no more bethelites, gilead graduates, no more missionary work.. no more watchtower studies, field service, pioneers, elders, ministerial servants.. no more 'serving where the need is great.'.

  its over, its over.. the watchtower has decided to end it all, suspend the organization work.

  no more money.

  interesting thread this---for me the watchtower really was over---30 odd years ago.

  i knew my old mom and dad were still in it--but we rarely discussed it. i had absolutely no idea it had grown from the 1 million odd back then---to the alleged size it is now.

  i only got interested in the whole deal a few years back---when my old dad told me my grown up son had been d/f'd. i hadnt had any contact with him for years. we are now in contact--he has no ongoing interest or involvement with the WT---or anything like this site. he's moved on--and is leading a successful life.

  as far as he is concerned--the WT really has ended.

  secularist parent campaigners in scotland are trying to have schools religious assembly downgraded to opt-in - as it stands it is opt-out.

  this means unless you want to separate your child from the rest of the class, they have to have the religious indoctrination - rock meet hard place.. some of the quoted parents remind me of jw's:.

  yep--me too--the only dub in an all boy grammar school--of nearly 900.--along with a few hindus and jews. the RC's had their own class.
