They (The GB & Society) Just Don't Get It!
by minimus inthey live in a make believe world.
they live in la-la land, in story land.. it is embarrassing to realize how uneducated and dumb they sound.. they pride themselves in being ignorant while living their life in this "world".. it's too bad so many witnesses drink the koolaid and prefer to stop exercising their brains..

Yeah thats what they pretty much live in, in La La land.

To be honest I am a little more distrustful of people, even some ex Jehovahs Witnesses, but especially of religious nutjobs, and overbearing Jehovahs Witnesses who think they are right and everyone else is wrong. My family (relatives) have never really been close my immediate family are somewhat close, but lately, theres been a lot of tension, and sometimes I kinda wish that I had another family, one that was less religious, not over the top. I know thats kinda wrong, but I felt so alone growing up in that Jehovahs Witness crap. I always knew something wasnt right about that religion, but I felt trapped, and doing research confirmed it for me. My parents are religious hypocrites who want to talk about EVERYONE except them. Thanks to them, thats why I am such an atheist. Its everyone else, not them. The only thing that I feel like I have is this computer and internet and keyboard to type out what I feel, but sometimes, I dont think its enough. Now I work at a job that I CANNOT STAND, trying to get back into school, but just getting into more debt, single, childless, no type of security, no END OF THE WORLD. But of course I did it to myself!!!!!!!!!. I refuse to accept this as my reality...so I am leaving my hometown in 2016 to finally get Jehovahs Witnesses out my system for good! But having websites like this and also YOUTUBE has helped me a whole lot. I know it was so much tougher for former Jdubs back in the day. I am so happy that times have changed and now former members have a place to go to and vent.
But I think I want to stop spending so much time online and really get out and start doing some protest, really getting my feelings out there.

Having children is bad
by dissonance_resolved inwent to the weeknight meeting this week for the first time in a long while.
the study was all about how having children was ill-advised in this time of the end- the comments dwelled on what a burden children are, how you can spend more time in the ministry without children, and look what they did in jerusalem- they cannabilized their own children!
it's going to be so horrible to watch our children suffer during the great tribulation!

I know when I was little, I knew I heard the brothers say it was best not to have children and this was in the 80's. My parents constantly say it. (But they looooooooooooove being grandparents) Now the faithful and discreet slave says thats its a conscience desicion. The watchtower covers up their history.

Gerrit Loesch was at our DC today!
by goatshapeddemon inso, unexpectedly, the final talk was announced today and to my surprise and evil glee, they announced gerrit loesch as the speaker!
first off, at the beginning of his talk, he interrupted himself in the middle of his sentence to scold the microphone brother to lower my mike it's right in my face.. anyway, it was the talk on inspired truth, vs. inspired falsehoods.
he went through 6 expressions inspired by the demons.

DFing and shunning causes 22-yr old to murder friend
by Scully inso i was randomly watching a show on investigation discovery today - the show was called killer next door, and the episode was called murder without motive.. the show is a french-canadian program that has been translated into english, and this particular episode had to do with a homicide that took place in ste-croix-de-lotbiniere, near quebec city, in november 1999 of a young man named victor lemay.. the confessed murderer was his friend, andre roy, then aged 22.. in the year or so that preceded the murder, andre roy had been disfellowshipped from the jws and had, as a result, been kicked out of his parents' home.
he had no social support outside of the jws and had to start making new friends.
the psychologists on the program felt very strongly that the shunning he experienced by the jws in general, and his family in particular, contributed to increasing rage, and that his friend, victor, became a convenient outlet for his rage.

Wow that is really sad. Shunning and disfellowshipping are so harmful.
