Murder in the Bible.
by Mall Cop inthe story of cain and able in chapter four of the bible takes up about sixteen lines or verses of the bible.. it is arguably history's most famous murder.. but the story is silent about one key detail: the weapon cain used to kill his brother.. it's not a rock, or a sharpened stone.
yes, there was blood.. and to this day, the world's first murder weapon is still lost to history.. why has the writer/ writers left this important information out?.
afterall to charge someone with murder you need to have a murder weapon.. are there any other murders in the bible where the weapon used is unknown and or lost to history.. blueblades/mall cop.

Out at last: Probably good advice NOT to put it in writing.. I might not be able to trust my father. I will definitely inquire those two old friends and see what advice they have for me, one even from the same congregation, so he will know how the elders react.

Pirata:
Genesis 10:5
From these the population of the isles of the nations was spread about in their lands, each according to its tongue, according to their families, by their nations.
Genesis 10:20
These were the sons of Ham according to their families, according to their tongues, in their lands, by their nations.
Genesis 10:31
These were the sons of Shem according to their families, according to their tongues, in their lands, according to their nations.
Genesis 6:4
The Neph´i·lim proved to be in the earth in those days, and also after that, when the sons of the [true] God continued to have relations with the daughters of men and they bore sons to them, they were the mighty ones who were of old, the men of fame.
Numbers 13:33
And there we saw the Neph´i·lim, the sons of A´nak, who are from the Neph´i·lim; so that we became in our own eyes like grasshoppers, and the same way we became in their eyes.”

Thanks for your encouraging words everybody!
If you really listen to what they say and actually read the stuff eventually you have that moment of WHAT?
Nancy, this is exactly what happened to me. For example, I knew I did not have a good set of arguments to defend Noah's flood. While praying for Holy Spirit, I researched this topic and the only thing I found was that it could not possibly be true. I did not find any good arguments. There is no evidence at all.
At most only a few hundred of animals could be cared for in the Ark. So how could I deny evolution, stating that the 5-20 million species of earth were slowly evolving over hundreds of millions of years, but then preach that the same 5-20 million species evolved in only 4000 years from only a few hundred of animals? That just doesn't make any sense! And the watchtower library is totally silent on this issue.
Then I learned that the great pyramid of Gizeh existed BEFORE the flood, and that the Egyptian culture existed BEFORE the flood, and that many languages existed BEFORE the tower of babel. And after reading the skeptics' annotated bible, it is even stated in the BIBLE that there were languages before the tower of babel, and that the nephilim had SURVIVED the flood. WTF?

I must say that those two friends who faded were not hounded, or at least I believe they weren't, but I haven't asked them yet. So right now I am leaning towards fading, but on the other hand it would just be cool to DA and give them all a nice big FU.
What if I would just stop going and refused to speak, meet or phone with the elders? Wouldn't it be that easy?

Aussie Oz: What's coming?
Cyberjesus: Wow, what a cool name.
I know of the mind control and how it affects them, because I have been in the same situation where some of my friends stopped. They told me they stopped because they did research and found too much of the doctrine being wrong. My mind threw that explanation out and replaced it with other reasons. They were stumbled by imperfect elders, they were lazy and looking for an excuse to leave. It is only now that I am able recall what my friends really told me.
I am planning on putting together the most unsettling doubts in a big letter, like Noah's Ark, inconsistencies in the gospels and unfulfilled prophecies and sending that to my dad. If he has half a brain left he will at least reply that some things are not clear yet.
My wife doesn't study a lot so she won't be swayed by well-researched arguments. I don't know how to approach her yet. Maybe when she sees how quickly I will be shunned by our 'friends' once I go public it will open her eyes.

Hi Everybody!
I want to introduce myself. I'm a 28 year old active, married JW from Belgium. In the preceding months (I'd say starting from about March) I've been slowly losing my faith. This was caused by my intensified study activities, especially during the new family study evening.
A lot of the doubts I had stored away for later research were not answered by my research, and instead I uncovered more error in WTS doctrine and the bible itself too. Finally the weight of evidence broke the dam of my belief and faith flushed out of me like a giant flood. After reading Crisis of Conscience, Combatting Cult and Mind Control and visiting excellent sites such as the Skeptics' Annotated Bible, JWFacts.com, FreeMinds.org, Talk Origins FAQ and WatchtowerLetters.com, there is no going back for me now.
Next up is breaking the news to the congregation, my family and my friends. My wife already knows I am in doubt, but convinced me to stay for a bit longer to do more research and discuss it with my dad or with the elders. I am still very afraid to confront my dad, I don't want to hurt him by telling I want to quit, but like a band-aid that must be ripped off I know this will be in store for me in the near future.
My goal is to be out in time to celebrate my birthday, and that would make it happen before the end of the year. Do I want to DA or fade? I haven't made my mind up yet.

Typical email exchange I just had with a JW
by jwfacts inmost of the emails that i receive from jws are short and to the point - i am wrong and jehovah will soon exact vengeance on me.
they never identify where i am wrong.
here is a typical one.

The problem is that you can't reason with cult victims. In the case of such e-mails, they are not reasoning with you, but they are trying to suppress their own doubts. Often, the fear of losing the argument will make them angry as well, and they direct this anger to you.

YOU KNOW IT'S THE TRUTH BECAUSE, THE WATCHTOWER TELLS YOU IT IS
by elm inthe study editionof the watchtower for september 15th 2010, p13 states "similarly today, a governing body composed of spirit-anointed christians contributes to the unity of the worldwide congregation.
the governing body publishes spiritually encouraging literature in many languages.
this spiritual food is based on god's word.

'The Governing Body publishes spiritually encouraging literature in many languages. This spiritual food is based on God's word. Thus what is taught is not from men but from Jehovah"
So i guess the Quran is from Jehovah too, since it is also based on God's word the bible, just as the book of Mormon is. This is some very bright new light we are looking at here people!

Whats the weirdest thing a JW ever said to you?
by chukky 594 ini remember a 'sister' coming up to me and telling me off for being on the atkins diet, as it was satanic and designed by satan.. chukky.

A sister told me and her husband that the two of us weren't allowed to go to another sister to have our hair cut because even with two brothers it might be dangerous. I don't know what kind of weird fantasies she has or how the elders get to do shepherding calls then..
