  sd-7, stop reading that crap!

  If there was an actual righteous God giving me detailed instructions for good reasons, I might listen. Especially if it's stuff like "Hold your staff high so I can drown all the Egyptians before they kill you." Because I'd rather not be killed by angry Egyptians. But God is not the same as a human overseer. And this overseer-dude is giving me detailed instructions on stuff God didn't even bother mentioning in the bible.

  The so-called new light often changes a few years later. So why even bother trying to understand? Just wait a few years and maybe the 'current bible truth' will be the same as your own beliefs.

  What the WTS actually wants is you reading the bible as a treadmill activity, giving up trying to actually understand what it says and just answering everything with the weak excuses and explanations you are taught in the literature.

  3. Have lots of stories of how big J gave them a car or a house to continue pioneering, keep telling everyone, are disappointed when you have a similar story as a non-elder or non-pioneer

  4. Keep a magic-marked copy of the revelations book nearby when people visit so they can keep convincing the 'flock' that Armageddon is really near this time..

  5. When they comment at the meeting they always try to work in a reference to the spirit-directed organization, the FDS or the GB

  Is this Loaded Language in the 2011 Calendar?

  i think it could be fair to say, that if paul spoke for jesus, then "revealed truth" could be a valid description since the scriptures say he visited them several times, but i think the loaded language comes in when you try to apply this to modern times, (wts a modern paul?).

  i see this as trying to mold the first century to fit the current wts/jws.

  what do you think?.

  in this instance it was sent as my daughter had spent some time in hospital.

  note, very little information in terms of family news.

  - Jehovah's wrath lasts forever.. or not..

  - God tests people.. or he doesn't..

  - You can be saved by faith alone.. uhmm no scrap that, by works alone..

  - You can't see God's face and live, and no man has seen him.. except of course for Moses, Abram, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu and 70 elders

  - I never told you guys to make me burnt offerings when you moved out of egypt.. oh wait, i did, whoops

  - I created the animals first.. no wait men!

  - Pauls companions only heard the voice, not the light.. i mean they only saw the light, they didnt hear the voice

  - Only Jesus went to heaven, nobody elese.. except for Elia of course, whoops, forgot about him

  - I am Jehovah who punishes until the 4th generation. Even though according to my heavenly righteous standards, a child cannot be punished for the crime of its father

  - Jehovah never tires.. except when he's annoyed by the israelites or when they party too much

  - Jesus was seen resurrected for the first time by: 1 woman, 2 women, 3 women, more than 5 women?

  - What were Jesus last words?

  Conclusion: The bible is very unreliable

  It's very strange and inappriopate when a JW tells me "I missed you!" or "I missed you at the meeting!" when they know I have big doctrinal issues, don't believe in God anymore and think the WTS is an evil mind control cult. Do they think that will all magically go away if I just start attending again?

  The Watchtower Society Hedge Fund

  the watchtower society hedge fundseveral weeks ago it came to my attention via the e-jehovahs-witnesses discussion board that the watchtower society had devised a new money raising scheme.

  the scheme is to beg and borrow money from each individual congregation account, which they deem to be in excess of the congregation's actual expenses.

  i half jokingly responded to the topic then that the watchtower has become a hedge fund.

  I personally know a congregation who has loaned off their excess money to the WTS, and another one who monthly increases that loan because they always get more than enough gifts.

  this is about a experience given by someone who was newly baptised ....the demons were troubling her as she was practicing spiritism before she got baptised....once when the demons troubled her she raised her voice and asked arent you afraid of jehovah...and the demons replied we are but currently he is busy gathering his army for armaggedon.....how many of you have heard similar stories?.

  You have to wonder how long it takes an omnipotent superbeing to gather his spiritual army. Apparently it takes a very long long time. I guess they don't have highways or airplanes in heaven?
