  this has been discussed in the district convention thread but i felt like all the "toes" info would be nice to see in one place.

  and of course, i had some fun with them... an older, brunette woman who obviously dyes her hair and could stand to lose a bit of weight, and a slim blonde teenage girl - probably around 15 - 17.... i started out by asking them if they knew how old the bible was.... .

  (and unfortunately, i think i demonstrated that i wouldn't make a very good "undercover" bible study prospect... .

  but they didn't even know how old - young - the bible was!!.

  I don't know Zid, but as a fully in dub I would not be very impressed by your 'talk', I would be very interested and would probably have looked up some of those myths on google though. And that might've begun my waterfall of doubt. But it would not have made me question my faith. I would have just applied the "Satan is the source of all false religion, so it's no surprise that he has perverted the messiah story" excuse to stop any further thinking.

  Of course for the girl that was at the door, if she wasn't 100% brainwashed, it might've worked a lot better on her than it would've on me.

  I think an undercover apostate was sitting near me at the meeting this afternoon

  this brother was sitting near me today at the hall and when the public speaker started talking about the signs of the last days this guy started whispering something to his wife and kind of mocking the speaker in a quiet voice.

  his wife looked really pissed off.. i've suspected this guy before by some of the stuff he's said and done and some of the #3 talks hes given he's gone off the assigned topic quite a bit.. during the wt study i was doing mics and i happened to walk by him several times.

  his wt was on the floor and his bible was opened to topic for conversation at the end of the bible at the last days part.. a little while later his wife gave him the look and said something to him and he picked up his unprepared wt and followed along.. hoser.

  Sounds a lot like me when I was in my last active year, even down to the reaction of my wife when I whispered critical comments into her ear. I also gave some questionable talks, but the sheep were not able to detect my real reasoning and praised me for them. Eventually I did stop commenting at all though.

  Just this morning I had a enormous ectoplasm discharge in the shower, I quickly washed it down the drain so my wife wouldn't find it.. or are we talking about something else here?

  Why can't you ask questions?

  i know that some will disagree on this, and say you can ask questions.

  yet, i ask you to honestly think what would happen if you openly started asking questions on jw doctrine or evolution.

  likely you would be made to feel like i did below if you started asking these questions to other jws.. .

  When you knocked on someone's door you felt that you had all the answers and were better than other religions because of it.

  When you found an annoying householder that had some real tough questions you went back to research. Then after a few return visits you decided he just wants to ague and doesn't want to accept the truth. When you don't have the answers, you demonize the householder.

  When you ask your local elder something you will get an unsatisfying answer. If you keep probing, you will be found spiritually weak and you are probably secretly masturbating, so the holy spirit is not guiding you and maybe even having a negative impact on the whole congregation. The elder is demonizing you so he won't have to think about your annoying questions.

  i had a discussion with my jw friend during which i asked her why a rational person should believe the world is run by demons.

  in response, she questioned the existence of objective rationality.

  she said that we should "agree to disagree.

  They'll Never Get It

  after listening to my family members go on and on about the new light regarding the generation, coming home from the convention all ramped out because "the end is so close you can feel it, it's just around the corner", i finally realized it.. they'll never see it for what it is.

  even if the organization goes down, they'll sink with that ship.

  there is not a rational person that could swallow the new generation overlap teaching and really believe it.

  The doctrine is just a treadmill.. it's not actually important for them to stay in. That's why new doctrine is so exciting, it's like a new treadmill, less boring than the old one. Their unwavering obedience to the GB is the actual issue here.

  Jehovah was so wise to let rape victims marry their rapists. I mean, who else would marry such a dirty woman? She was probably asking for it, winking at the rapist or wearing a skirt that was not covering her knees. In his loving wisdom he made sure that the woman would not become a single spinster, a fate much more terrible than getting raped and enslaved by some random horny goatherd for the rest of their lives. And of course the woman's father would be paid well for selling off one of his slaves - errr..- daughters.
