did they really try to prove it to you or did they write you off as hopelessly lost or somewhere in between?
as some of you are aware, i have been trying to get my wife to prove it to me, and if not her, another believing jehovahs witness.

There is another tactic JWs use.. "Discuss it with the elders."
Then the elders will employ their own selection of thought-stoppers. Even if you do prove them wrong, they'll just end it with "Wait on Jehovah."

by life is to short inthe co is at my husbands hall this week so i tied in to the meeting he was going on and on about how there are 140 elders in the circuit and only 80 something ms's.
of the elders 25 are over 75 years old.
of the ms's it was about 20 are over 75 years old.

Lower standards may translate to more scandals, hopefully raising public awareness, leading to even more adverse reactions during door to door work leading to increasing discouragement for the rank and file who also have to deal with the low-standard elder/ms mix.. making them all leave!

Cantleave and Nugget are coming to visit me!
by Pams girl ini met the lovely mummatron 2 weeks ago and had a fab day x. tomorrow, cantleave and nugget are travelling down with their kids and stopping off to say hi for a few hours before continuing through wales!.
im making a huge lasagne, and have got the beers and vino in.......so excited!.
will be great putting faces to the name, and im glad that at long last, i seem to be able to step out of my little world and make friends.. have got my smurf hanging outside the door so they know my house............. feels like an early christmas present, happy days!

I know one congregation that has meetings for all baptized men,just to "encourage" them to reach out to be a servant or elder.
Horrible yes I've been to such a meeting. It was all about doing more in FS, which is today the only qualifier for becoming MS. After the encouraging talk was over, we had to leave, so they could talk to the MS, and then they had to leave so they could finish up with their super secret elder meeting.
