ruruj - I was being a bit tongue-in-cheek in my description of the JW attitude towards everyone around them. I do not support the WT at all. I don't want to reform it, i just want it to go away. Yes I love most of the people but their publishing co. is evil.

I currently believe in Christ(or some spiritual entity). I do not fully understand all aspects of him/her, but I "feel" there must be something more. That being said I find believeability in many and varried systems of thought. I am also open to changing my beliefs if needed, but not my values!
I suppose not knowing all the answers makes life what it is.
As far as the WT having power, I believe they do and they use it to hurt so many with impunity.

Don't you just love it when people (Christians in this case) push Christ asside and sit upon his throne and start judging everyone else around them. And what is their mesuring rod, themself.
A bit off track but there is a small sceen in Disneys - The Emperor's New Groove where the emperor is out so his advisor sit on the throne and starts holding court. The emperor returns and says, "your doing it again" and the advisor starts trying to explain that she is only "helping". It is cute but I always think about self-rightous people when I see that.

I have always thought, however no way to prove it, that all the changes in medical doctrine come about as a result of a GB member or their family needing a treatment. Transplants, no blood, some blood, etc.
If that could be proven then we could cause them some havoc.
Wobble - I pointed that Revelation book thing out during one of our many times through that stupid book and nobody got it! I said are those members in heaven, did they die, are they now speaking to the GB? Then the GB is talking to the dead...No that is not what it said. ARRRR.

i remember as a kid reading an article - not sure if watchtower or awake - which terrified the life out of me!
i remember thinking at the time "ok, this may be true, but i'm just a kid, i shouldn't be reading this!".
some of the details remain imprinted on my mind decades later.
All the articals and even more graphic talks about sex are not what I would call appropriate for children. I have heard some talks that were boarderline pornographic. These articals and talks not only mess up kids they at times mess up adults. I remember an artical about sex within marrage from around 1985, and in a few talks around the same time and later. Three things were said have that always stuck with me as being assanine. 1.) If a homosexual person does it then you can't do it in the marrage bed. 2.) If you can pay a prostitute for it, you can't do it. 3.) The time a married couple spent having sex could be better used knocking on doors. Of course these are paraphrases but you get the idea.
I know this messes up adults as well as kids as my wife "studied" this artical before we got married, ans as a result we have never had oral sex, because of "what the WT said" She had a child before we met and told me she loves oral sex but from the day we read the artical it was out of bounds.
Let's not forget the Awake with all the faces of young children sacrficed on the no blood alter. That was/is the most sickening IMO. They were just chilrden....................................I'm sorry I have to go cry now.. F@&% the WT

Ann O'Maly is so correct, very few pioneers actually "preach" their full hrs. In the 80's i aux. pioneered for 6 months, I was struck by how many times nobody, and I mean nobody showed up for field service. I worked nights and would go out Sat, Sun, then Mon, Wed, Fri mornings. And at least two days a week I was the only one to show up, litterally. So when i finally stoped pioneering i was told by our loving elders that I was spiritually weak, and yet the invisably present pioneers were our treasures. Go figure
if you follow the current nonsense being taught by the society, in its latest magazines and assembly parts, there seems to be a dominant theme about near worship of the "faithful slave" and tiresome nagging about 'obey, obey, obey'.. my unanswered question is: why?.
if they were the empire in star wars, i would expect to hear dark-robed members of the evil governing body muttering about " a disturbance in the force".. anyhow, what has changed to generate this sudden demand for obedience to their supposed authority?

I think it is all about money, they are afraide they are loosing it. As far as the internet goes, they talk about the porn aspect but are afraide of the us apostates. If they continue to say the internet is full of aspotate wolves they know that thousands of JW would start looking for the info just to prove us wrong, as we see some pop up here all the time. I think that scares they as well, but it is all about the money.

I may not totally understand this/or believe it but is not the good news the Death, burrial, and resurection of Christ? I thought that one thing that set Christianity apprt was that they have a risen savior and most other major religions have dead prophits.
I do believe the the WT loves paul for his dictator like personality.
Debator - When you stand before the throne of Christ, what are you going to answer when he asks "Who do you say that I am"? Is your answer going to be "I don't believe in the trinity"? I find it funny that so many JW's say they looked at all other religions and the WT is the only one preaching the truth. With so mush devine insite as to know what the truth is before you start looking why are they not starting their own religion?
