According to the bible.....what were birds made of?
by gumby inaccording to the bible, man was made from the ground.....the dirt.. do you know what "fowls" were made from?
take your pick.. from the waters.gen.1:20-21"and god said, let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
and god created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and god saw that it was good.

Yay! Sunnygal's coming?! Fun! Our own little eastern apostofest!
I meant to add above that I love, love, love, love Tuber Rose incense. You can buy it at Chapters. It's heavenly! Of course, some people are sensitive to it.

Why don't you wear scent anymore Talesin? Are you allergic? Or is it a work thing? (and yes, the authentic scents are usually not a problem with the allergic...it's all the chemicals in the colognes and sprays that are the real culprits, imo...the $200 an ounce real perfume is probably still ok, but people are so pc that if they get a whiff of anything other than au naturel they will call foul.)

Talesin - My LIL's sister-in-law wears Opium. It's her signature fragrance. I never cared for it, but I like her so much that I like Opium now because it makes me think of her.

Deleted's Top Five Poll #1 - What would you get disfellowshipped for today?
by Deleted ini've been reading this site for years and i need more posts (is this a left over dub-thang like counting time?).
so taking a page from ozzie's poll, here's my top five.
1. i got myself doctorates in divinity & metaphysics from the ulc (ulc.org, about $140 - i went for the works) so i could register with the county as a minister to officiate weddings, done 4 so far - i don't charge if you're interested.

Hmmm....to be disfellowshipped and/or disciplined:
1) voting (Canada's federal election is coming up! or is that a "conscience matter" now?)
2) fornicating (*grin*)
3) self-pleasuring (*grin again*..then again, you'd have to confess that in order to be df'd, wouldn't you?? who'd be nuts enough to do that? Is there more culpability if a mechanical device is involved? ;))
4) swearing (I love the F word, in moderation of course. :)
5) investigating atheism
6) reading mine and others' horoscopes and laughing without fear
7) speaking of laughter, laughing at dirty jokes instead of choking on the chuckle
8) hosting the baddest Halloween party around
9) playing D&D
10) smoking the good stuff (just a little) every now and then
11) gambling (I'm very good at blackjack and poker.)
12) associating with *gasp* apostates!
13) getting a decent education and moving up the corporate ladder
14) reading Tarot
15) loving my family and friends by not shunning them despite their life choices
16) donating Blood!!
I'm sure there's more, but that's all the sins I can think of so far.
*edited to add # 16 - donating blood, as that's the one I'm most proud of. :)

Great topic Stephanie!
Usually I smell like Ivory soap. Mostly because I've worked in a scent-free environment for about a year now. Sometimes though, my hair smells like Senscience, if I use their mousse or hairspray. I find I'm a lot more sensitive to fragrance now and I rarely wear it, however...
When I go out in the spring or summer, I like Tommy Girl (the original)...one of my good friends used it first and I've never seen so many men turn their heads and go 'who's wearing that scent?!!' just at a whiff of it. For late fall and winter I love, love, love Samsara by Guerlin...it's aspicy! :)
It's so cool how scent affects our memories! Yerusalim wrote: "I used to be a Drakar man...now I'm boycotting, so it's Old Spice...and the wife likes it...in fact I've had several compliments from several different women on my smell...must be a chemical thing" and I thought Old Spice...yuck! That's a cheap old man scent...but you know what? I remember secretly stealing into the bathroom as a teenager just to smell my older brother's Old Spice deodorant. So yes, there may be something to the chemical thing for women!
Mulan - you wrote: "I wear Estee Lauder "Beautiful". I've used it for about 20 years. I don't mix colognes so all my clothes will smell the same. I heard my daughter in law say one time "You've been hugging grandma, haven't you? You smell just like grandma". That was neat." That is cool Mulan....a signature fragrance. I remember my nana everytime I smell Dove soap. And I remember my best little girlfriend's mom whenever I smell Noxema. Happy memories, happy scents. :)
Oh, and, Eternity for Men is still a killer in my book!
