  Studying my faith away

  i want to introduce myself.

  i'm a 28 year old active, married jw from belgium.

  in the preceding months (i'd say starting from about march) i've been slowly losing my faith.

  illuminator hi, such good advice from all on this board. i'm 9mths into a fade myself. At first my feelings were very militant ... actually looked forward to the elders 'inquisition' mtg! Phoned "the Spy Store" for info on concealed recording devices! Oh yeah this was feeling good! Then i calmed down ... and thought about family and what would really be best for us. Slow fade for now.

  Would you plse show info about the Great Pyramid Gizah ie.existing before flood? How very interesting!

  Phoebed ... wonderful that you found this place, from what I can see it is very supportive although haven't been here long myself. To find out the Truth about the 'truth' is very shocking. Grief and rage about the deception of the watchtower is hard to get over. Take one day at a time.

  i've been watching the new dvd and it is a bull fest about russell.

  i haven't even gotten half way and they already excluded one very important bit of information.

  you'll recall that russell "lost" his faith and "turning away from church creeds and searching for truth, russell examined some leading oriental religions, only to find these unsatisfying".

  Wow, Titus ... I 've been following the10 pages of these posts. Didn't want to put you in a 'spot' so not asking for the link, but appreciative of all your efforts. Just new on here but over 40yrs 'in' and 9mths fading. About a year ago I had a visit by Cong O and Circuit S .. the old predictable speil, read the daily text and more service. In my ignorance refferred to "that neat old book" JW's in the Divine Purpose, where could I get it? They kept insisting and correcting me, that I meant the Proclaimers book .... almost inferring that the earlier book never existed!! I soon found out why.

  What Is The Watchtower Afraid Of?

  if you follow the current nonsense being taught by the society, in its latest magazines and assembly parts, there seems to be a dominant theme about near worship of the "faithful slave" and tiresome nagging about 'obey, obey, obey'.. my unanswered question is: why?.

  if they were the empire in star wars, i would expect to hear dark-robed members of the evil governing body muttering about " a disturbance in the force".. anyhow, what has changed to generate this sudden demand for obedience to their supposed authority?

  some years ago, they panicked after contributions collapsed in the 'voluntary donation arrangement'.

  Metatron, so many questions .... so many answers. Someone covered the financial angle a while back ...but to put it succinctley ... they don't want to miss out on the biggest bonanza of all time! Baby Boomers! A large number of hard core JW's are Boomers, the number of them is large because there never has been alive at one time (generation) so many aged persons. What does this bunch have? Money, property, inheritance. How old are they? So old, that in every November Watchtower for the last few years the society has shamelessly shilled for donations, mostly aimed at them ... for their realestate, insurance policies, jewelery, cash.......maybe someone would post that disgusting dble page?? Now this jackpot must be protected by every and all means! Does this answer one of the Whys?

  My Story - Abbreviated but still way too long

  when my mum returned after 6 weeks she had also been converted.

  i am sure the twenty years younger and big boobs had nothing whatsoever to do with it and cannot think why he both could think of no other way of leaving and why if it was so bad it was alright to leave his kids in it.

  she beat me so bad i found out afterwards my brothers thought she was going to kill me.

  Wow, what a story, thanks for sharing. My heart goes out to the hurt little kid that you were and the damage done to you. When you think of the chaotic years of your life, it does boggle the mind that the "only true religion" was a great part of it!! My 2 cents, ....... no one, not governments, publishing companies, friends relatives nor god should come between parents and their children! Ever. I'm new here too, glad to be on. Now if I could only figure everything out. may I thank two "friends" on here? Thanks for your welcome to 'what-a-coincidence' .. I am enjoying the show and to 'emptyinside' ... thanks for your support.

  I guess they had me at ... "you will gain fathers and mothers and sisters and brothers".

  They came to my door and told many'different'stories, ...things I had only dreamed of, as being possible.

  Oh yes, the Borg had me alright for a long time, until ... well here I am getting ahead of myself.

  Hi, another Newbie here for you. Thanks for the welcome at the top. Getting started is a bit confusing.

  I have been researching as never before and reading and digesting the words of all of you for the last 9 mths. Quite a revelation to say the least, and for the most ...a breaking apart of my guts and a falling to my knees in momentary disbelief and weeping bitterly as the scales fell from my eyes as I saw clearly for the first time in over 40yrs, .... the lies.
