today when i read it, i see a completely different story.. the bible is completely true, or at least that's what many people believe.
when asking them which translation is true, the person might pick their favourite translation.
when asking about things that contradict, be logically incorrect, or refer to unscientific things like the four corners of the earth, one might get a response that some of it is symbolic, and not meant to be taken literally, but everything else is entirely true.. the same principle can be applied to any piece of writing.

I have never looked at these 'scriptures' this way before or until recently never doubted the authenticity of the bible as a whole!

Why would he indeed! Christ already has the job.

Even though the governing body has brazenly inserted itself in between man & Christ - usurping him, they have no legal or scriptural rights for this. Or much less claim to be mediators for the great crowd!

i have a lingering memory of an wt article about the ark being found and measured, this read as fact and not a working theory or a possibility.
i was just a kid when i read it, but it stayed with me until i was a young adult and discovered that it was not true.
does anyone else remember this article, or is this just a confused memory from my cracked youth?.
Hello Scarlouie, no you are not mistaken there was a story about the ark, frozen in the ice on the side of a mountain. Think it was in Life magazine or something like that. You could google it and probably come up with the story. Also I heard there was some new information about it.

i tried to do a minimum 30 hours a month field service.
however, if we had only been allowed to count the time of "the actual conversations" we had with householders at the door i wonder what the real figure would be?.
i think mine would easily have been less than 1 hour per month.
When I started to read these blogs and heard about the ingenious ways to fib time, I almost fell off my chair. Magazines in the back window of the car ... collecting time until they were removed!! lol
I realized how naive I was ... didn't start counting time until my first knock at the door! My life sure would have been a lot easier if we had the net then. Darn, and oh, all those pioneers, lording it over me 'cause I just couldn't manage it, hmmm, me thinks that they actually couldn't either.

i found this site and thought i would let some people know of my experiences.. my sister is a baptised witness and had a bash at getting me to join.
she thought it would help straighten me out and save me, (i had been a very naughty boy and had just been released for a very serious crime where i hurt some people).. i have always had an interest in theology and have always believed in a god, i just didnt like him that much because i blamed him for things that had gone wrong in my life.. the first meeting i want to was horrible.
an elders wife ran up to me and was saying how lovely it was to see me there and i told her exactly what she could do in some very colourful language.

so a few months ago, a friend sent me an actual copy of finished mystery which was published in 1917 (not a pdf download... the actual book).
i must say, this was the most disturbing book i have ever had the displeasure of reading.
but i only read it because this was the main publication that was being distributed worldwide when jesus supposedly chose the watchtower in 1918 and i basically wanted to see for myself what jesus saw in the wt that would compel him to choose this religious corporation over all other religious denominations.. anyway, if anyone is interested in knowing the actual contents of this book, here are some bullet points i put together from some of the notes i took as i read the book:.
Thanks Black Sheep, I thought all the halls removed all older literature a number of years ago. When I asked about the old Jehovah's witnesses in the Divine Purpose book here, the elders acted as though it had never existed.
