prompted by another post, i looked up 124 columbia heights in the 1940 census.

a few interesting things: all occupants are listed as having the profession of "sell- religious books," except rutherford who is listed as an "editor.

" odd that they aren't listed as ministers.. also, all the educational levels of the occupants were provided- many had not even graduated high school and some not even grammar school.

Some JW on the street, my reaction...

today i had some of my worst experiences.

i saw a jw group walking on preaching.

one of them knows me well, we share a lot of week-end on rbc.. my first reaction was rage and nerves.

your breath right out & the inhale slowly & deeply.

This will relax your diaphram & make you laugh!

Practice it .....it is good for you.

the us edition of the june kingdom ministry urges the still-active witnesses to get out and preach in august saying that it is fitting because the anniversary of the start of the time of the end will be in that month.

what arch hypocrites!.

they won't allow children to have birthdays but they celebrate a date on a calendar that suits their doctrinal purpose...which is itself virtually the "birthday" of the start of the time of the end - according to their doctrine.. perhaps the "celebrations" will backfire when they try to load 100 candles on the celebratory cake and there will be a huge burnout of faith in this man-made date.. besides, the organization was incorporated in 1876 - decades before 1914.. there may well be moments of unease when the few witnesses with operating brain cells realize the organization has kept them in panic-mode to urgently preach about an end that never comes.

No wonder the dubs pop pills, drink to oblivion & live double lives.

No matter how fast they work & study....watchtower keeps them

off balance at all times with their confusing, conflicting double-talk!

I went to one of my previous halls remodel today and they did not recognize me...

i definitely look like a worldly person by jw standards... however i went to my old hall because they are remodelling and they are in the final p[hase.

it was not on purpose.

i had bnusiness on the street and happened to drive past.

Something to pay attention to, if you go to the Memorial...

i'm cutting and pasting from one of my own posts from some timem ago.

if you're having to go to this thing tonight, pay attention to how the speaker explains the timing of events at the passover meal, and then compare that to what the bible actually says.... an oldie, but one of my better goodies, i think.... .

yes, it's time for that annual ritual...no, no...not the ritual of nibbling on crackers and sipping cheap wine, but the ritual of comparing wt teachings of how jesus instituted the memorial versus what the bible actually says.. current wt theology.... as cut and pasted from their own website:.

.."Gospels shows that the WT teaching of the Last Supper is twisted from scripture. And it has to be in order to make their Memorial as important as they claim it is. For only the remnant of Christ's brothers, the 144,000 are allowed to partake. If it was obvious that Judas partook, it robs some, if not all, the significance of the event and the importance of the vow of those who do partake. For if Jesus knew that Judas was his betrayer and still allowed him to stay during this event, then it's not a new institution being set in place for just those in the new covenant, it's just another parable and illustration used to try to teach his followers something. Rob the event of the importance of the occasion and it loses it's place today as a special and significant occasion that has to be observed, thus stripping the WT of some of its credibility as spokesmen for this special group of people."

Memorial Attendance: The Single Most Impactful TTATT "Witness" to Family and Friends

anyone who has awakened to ttatt and conscientiously left the organization--especially a once-prominent individual from a prominent multi-generational tribe of jws-- after decades of devout, high-profile "serve-us," who continues to put in an annual appearance at the memorial thoroughly subverts and undermines, by this one act, any hope s/he may entertain that his/her departure will stir family or former friends to question the whole watchtower bamboozle.

by this one concession s/he assigns him-/herself by every single jw to their handy and dimissive purgatory: the "spiritually-weak.".

nothing blasts a louder, clearer, and more deliberate message to the jws who personally knew you and those familiar with your jw bona fides that you are not merely "not making the meetings" or "spiritually-weak" but that there is a conscientious reason you have rejected the entire watchtower society life than choosing to forego what they know you know to be their one-and-only holy and sacred event of the year, the lord's evening meal.

My 45 Minute Conversation With JWs Today

as i was saying before the watchtower literature trolley has arrived in my little town.... my wife and i were in town this afternoon and i saw one of my former elder colleagues standing beside the trolley talking to a young man and reading to him from one of their books.

ray was one my least favourite people - he was everything that is bad about jw elders.

i went up to them and interrupted and told the man that this is a cult recruitment campaign.
