  Putting on the NEW "New Personality"

  we have often heard about the need to "put on the 'new personality'" as a jw.... but i have realised something in these last few years of awakening to the ttatt...i dont like what i had become as a 'good' jw!.

  JW Witnessing Trolleys. To approach or ignore what is your preference and why?

  i saw two brothers this morning next to the main train station in liverpool city centre this morning.

  they were not actively approaching anyone.

  what i found strange was that they were from a cong that has different territory, so i don't know why they were there.. anyway i knew them both, and they know i was df'd, i was in my car and couldn't park up for a chat, but i did beep and wave to them as i drove passed and they waved back.

  Omg I am 'praying' to bump into one of these!

  Saw one in the city as I drove past, but couldn't

  find a parking spot. It wasn't a standard trolley,

  just some old jw on a 4 wheel scooter that he

  had rigged with a little rack for magazines.

  He was sitting on it ....parked on the sidewalk! lol

  What do you do when your job makes you wanna puke your face off?

  i'm talking like makes you physically sick and emotionally frazzled just thinking about it.

  i'm talking like you hate it to the point you'd rather go without than work at it just for the money.

  you'd live on cheap korean packet noodles for the next year instead of exchanging your labor for this job's money.. well, this is how i feel about teaching and tutoring.

  Julia ... have you defined exactly what it is...

  that you don't like about teaching?

  Hate the hours, you hate kids, hate getting up in

  the morning, the paper work, the union....what?

  *

  To me, work is pretty "life & death", something that

  is a need...not necessarily a want.

  If you really have to work & there is nothing else

  right now....then maybe start viewing the job in a

  different light! And yes...I have puked my face off.

  Raising kids - JW mother, agnostic father

  my wife and i have two wonderful children aged 1 and 3. i was raised as a lutheran but stopped believing in my late teen years.

  my wife is what i would call a liberal jw (yes, i believe such people exist .

  sooner or later our children will have questions about religion and the differences mom and dad show towards it.

  Yes, I see you shunning me!

  even tho i grew up in the org, so much that once seemed normal behavior now seems so bizarre and even cruel.

  i have run into at least 3 people from our old cong since the memorial (i didnt attend) anyhow i have noticed how each time they go out of their way to say hello and flash me a big bright smile, only to immediately avert their eyes and end any possible commitment to a conversation.

  i dont really care as i dont have anything to say to them anyhow.

  Bumped into a pioneer who I had known for 35 yrs.

  She pointed her finger at me as she circled around

  me in the store, sniggering all the while ...

  omg all I could do, was stand there with my mouth

  dropped open at her stupidity!!!

  She has pioneered much of her life, never married or

  had children or her own home! Wears the same plain

  boyish clothes she wore in her 20's.

  I really fear for her if she ever sees the real truth

  & what she has missed!

  DF'ed and Confused...

  i have a tendancy to be long winded about things, so i'll just give a general introduction and maybe tell things as i go along.

  i don't even really know what i want from this site (ironically i remember jehovahs-witness.net mentioned from the platform as a site not to go to).

  Stumble a huge welcome to you, your story

  has a common thread. You are not alone for

  sure ... hundreds of thousands of jw's leave

  WT because of failed doctrine, stumbling over the way

  they are treated, blood issue and the horrid DFing

  and shunning!

  You feel so alone ...because that is the way the WT

  has designed their 'punishment'.

  Try to be very kind and understanding to your Mom.

  She does not want to lose you. Hang around and keep

  posting ....this site, JWfacts, Jwstruggle, JW survey will

  all help you to get a grasp on what is really going on.

  New field service rules coming this summer

  All I know for sure, is that the dubs care how

  they measure-up in their friends eyes.

  I've heard a lot of them say........

  "Even if they (organization) are wrong, I would

  never leave ........I love all the brothers!"

  When I joined this outfit ....our names, & the hours,

  placements & studies, were posted on a hugely

  conspicuous bulletin board at back of the hall.....

  geeze you could see this thing 40 paces away!!!

  I found this to be the choke-hold to force participation.

  In fact, I never realized until looking at that list, that I

  was now obligated to keep up with the norm...or else be

  hated by 'the friends'

  Maybe the list is coming back.

  JW.ORG signs to be put on all Kingdom Halls! New directive.

  so i have been told that all kingdom halls are to have a large jw.org sign placed prominently out the front..... can anyone confirm this?.
