my challenge to you is..... next time you see a parent beating a human child in public at the kingdom hall, when there are two witnesses - you and one other - call 911 or the police, and report the parent by name, for child abuse..

If a child is acting up, I would like to know why anyone would think its okay to hit there child so as stop them ? I think it is far better to take things away that they love playing with, then return them when they have learnt their lesson and start behaving..... Slapping them or hitting them just doesnt teach them anything other than its ok to hit others.... Maybe this is why too many teens / adults hit other adults ending up being done with GBH, simply because theyve never been led by any other example .....

the kingdom hall parking has spaces wall weeks except............ you guessed it, the CO visit
Couldn't get a seat in the hall either! It was as though the Pope had visited as the congregation used to be well packed.
Brothers & sisters from other congregations would all pile in and those that only went to meetings when he came suddenly popped up out of the wood work too - Not even extra chairs being put out were enough....
I remembre there was a CO's wife who was so picky. She used to go on about how her hair stylist was 'Vidal Sasoon' and when she went to brothers houses for meals she used to get them rustling up different food than what had been offered.
My mother in law set herself a Salad, (as she was type 2 diabetic she had to watch her sugar intake) and the CO's wife cheekily asked if she would swap her salad for the cooked meal (meat & 2 veg).... Of course the mother in law obliged. This was sooo cheeky..
After this there was an item at the meeting stating that our CO & wife wanted meals that werent always a cooked dinner and that they werent to be too fattening as they were being overly fed with meals that were rich....

Yer, what was it with the CO visit. The elders used to select brothers who were able to speak the finest and anyone who thought they were somebody made that extra special effort to bend over backwards for him (maybe thats what the elders were doing literally - tee hee !!!). Seriously though I just never understood all the hoo har.
Another thing that used to totally frig me off, was that because the CO was used to having the service meetings on a Tuesday and the book study on a Friday we had to change our service days to suit his needs. (This meant it distrupted all the other congregations that also shared the hall)... I mean what was that all about. This was one man for goodness sake. Surely it was easier for him to just fit into our day to day running of things ????

Blood transfusions for pets
by Heartofaboy inhas anyone had the experience of their pet being saved by a blood transfusion?.
a lovely down to earth couple in my old congregation allowed a transfusion for their dog when it developed life threatening complications after surgery.
lo & behold the transfusion did actually save the dog's life.

Yes.... My childminder was a super spiritual JW. She was in as much the ringleader to the congregational click (and still is). She had her dog spade and after surgery was done and the dog had been stitched up the dog was still seve rley bleeding. It became quickly apparent that her labrador was a haeomphiliac and so she agreed to a blood transfusion!
I remember being stunned into silence & couldnt believe my ears, that she had gone ahead with this and that albeit the whole congregation knew about it, nobody so much as batted an eye lid !!!!
Im sure if it had of been my dog the elders would have come down on me like a ton of bricks !

some would be experiences that people had going door to door and visiting a "witch" or "warlock".
some would inadvertently go to a fortune tellers door and have a demonic experience.. i was always facinated by all the stories.

this though doesnt answer why a sewing kit (in a largish square biscuit box) launched itself for no apparent reason across the floor right in my perepherial vision... I keep looking for explanations, but there are none !!! ???

I just know that hadany of my children needed blood I would have let them have it. I had been reproved for other wrong doing in the past, so Im sure I would have said yes and just took the wrap afterwards. Sure it was the same as saying a few hell marys, but at least I would have got to keep my child :)

Seems to me that their is a tumor in your humor & that you need to lighten up....
I thought this site allowed freedom of expression & allowed freeness of speech. If what had been posted was considered Regligious 'hate' then I can understand but it wasnt so I really dont see the issue.
(Both me & Bigmac are English, now I thought we were meant to be the ones who were Stiff Upper Lipped & Straight laced, obviously this isnt the case....)

Whooo hoooo congratulations Butterfly your going to be a mommy .... At least now you will understand why you have been so hormonal & emotional recently. This is what has made you super sensitive and made you think you needed to return to the meetings...
Going the meetings now and putting your body through all this unecessary stress will not do you or the little one any good. Sit back & let your parents come to you ~ a new baby on the scene may be just the thing to make them want to re-establish contact anyway !!! Time will tell.... xxx

@ Butterfly, me & my hubby have faded since Oct 2009, this has resulted in many JW's ignoring us when they come across us in the territory, including my inlaws..
The problem we have is that an elder & his wife frequently visit us at our home to encourage us to come back to the meetings. They visit anything between 2 weeks to once a month to bring the latest WT / Awake. We hate having to pretend to be all down in the dumps and spiritually low'.... (We even took to hiding behind the wall between the hallway and the lounge!) Fading is hard. If you arent seen to be making progress then one way or another someone gets to know ... The inlaws dont know for sure that weve stopped going to the meetings, (because we are not in the same district ie: were at least 12 miles away) but all the same the family are shunning us ~ so I do feel that your attempts to get re-instated, so as to fade are a fools errand....
I wish there was an easier way for you to get your family back, but there isnt. You need to remember this is not your fault, but that of the WBTS because of their CULT teachings.
Your husband deserves better than to be dragged into leading a double life. Your potential children dont need to lead this double life either. Are your children going to have to spend their days not celebrating birthdays or Xmas just so they can live life under the radar too....?
I pray that you think this through, because this last year has been a very rough ride for my 4 children who are aged 9 yrs, 11 yrs, 13 yrs & 16 yrs... it has been incredibly hard living below the radar. They know as we do that they have been in a CULT & now want to be completely free to participate in Xmas and birthdays etc without having to constantly watch over their shoulders....
As much as you love your family you need to start looking after you and your hubby... no going back. You just cant put your fingers in the fire and not expect to get burnt, because you will.
