  My last meeting at the Kingdom Hall. Here's how it went.....

  nothing spectacular but you may relate to some of my emotions.. it was nearly 5 years ago now.

  i had almost left twice before but changed my mind at the last minute.

  this time i knew it was for real.

  I felt the same, freedom was so sweet when I left for good. The hatred and anger did come later for me as well. Be proud that you have saved your family from a life of pure shit! They will grow up without the crap & zombies from the KH. People are so insulting when you leave, I just heard someone insult me two days ago to a family member who is still going to the KH. They don't know how to act, at the end who gives a crap what they say about us, our lives are so much better.

  Thanks for story, I love reading how people leave this cult and feel better for it.

  there is a big insert in the jan kingdom ministry about the family worship night (which has evolved new capital letters - like governing body.).

  some helpful suggestions include the head of the household putting an agenda on the fridge door a few days ahead for the family to "build excitement and anticipation" (i kid you not.

  ) the provision is compared to the sabbath arrangement as a gift from god.

And a young married pioneer couple say that they wake up in the morning & say with excitement "Today is our Family Worship Night."

  Has anyone ever had a 'Near Death Experience' ?

  i'm wondering if anyone here has had a "near death experience" or know of someone that has.

  as an example: such as floating above your body during your operation when the doctors 'lose' you and you make a decision to return back to your body even though the bright light and some voice tell you otherwise... .

  did it change you/them in anyway?.

  Interestingly, when Christians have near death experiences, they usually see Jesus or Mary.

  When Muslims have near death experiences they tend to see Allah, or important spirits from the quaran.

  When Hindus have near death experiences they tend to see Krishna or symbolic images from their religion.

  If everyone all had the same near death experience regardless of their beliefs or religion beforehand, I might be slightly inclined to take the drug blurred ramblings of a dying brain a tiny bit more seriously.

  a few years ago i gave an experience on stage about how i came into the truth and why since it was a struggle i suppose.

  Hi Gordon, I watched your video on your blog. I agree with what you said: "(JWs) It's one of the most ridiculous religions that there is" We need to laugh at it. When I get together with my friend (ex-JW) we laugh and tease it till will have tears of laughter streaming down our face, it really is the stupidest religion on the planet. It's our outlet, we get angry a lot but then stop ourselves and just laugh, otherwise we will explode from the hatred we have for this shitty religion.

  I also agree that there is a book in all us ex-JWs, the shit we have seen in this so called religion of love can easily be turned into a book.

  Your book sounds interesting, I will add it to the list of books I want to read.

  finally i registered today.

  being a lurker for quite some months, i convinced myself it is time to give my own 2 pence from time to time.

  i am living in europe and i am still 'in', although by now i must be counted as an inactive jw.

  Thank you for your story. Glad you and your wife are out of this evil religion of lies.

  607 was a big one for me as well, when 1914 crumbles away the house of cards (called the watchtower society) fall.

  I've helped one person completely leave this religion by proving 607/1914 as a lie, a have a few others lined up, hoping they too will see it.

  Look forward to reading more from you.

  okay so when i was talking with the brothers, somehow they got me to agree to come up with a list of jw teachings i don't agree with.

  for some reason the po gave the number as "12".

  don't ask me why he came to that conclusion.

  Flying to Orlando tomorrow, my daughter is in the hospital

  my daughter is in the hospital with pneumonia, and possibly a blood clot in her lung.

  they'll be testing through the night...apparently, her heart is enlarged as well.

  she is scared... and if her jw father catches wind of it, he will be there trying to intefere with her treatment... he lives close by to her, so i'll be flying down in the morning....to head him off at the pass.

  Do you/they now believe in some sort of after life?

  Do you/they see that 'Near Death Experience' as your mind just playing tricks on you?

  Did it seem real or feel like a dream?

  I know someone that was clinically dead for 30 min before he was brought back. He told me he remembers absolutely nothing.

  [BTW: I have never experienced one]

  New kid on the block

  new to writing yes, to reading no, been reading here for 18 months or so.

  [ been trying to join for a while now, but kept getting an error message, until i read in the tech section, throw out your cookies, so i did, my wife brought me a cup of tea and cake, and here i am, even us "bushies" know what cookies are, round pastry things, cooked to golden brown... anyway] i don't know how many have read the writing "it hurts" at doc browns http://www.docbob.org/wordpress/?p=822 i am sure many can connect to one/some of the things written at one time or other, i certainly could.

  but "if laughter be the best medicine" as someone i cant remember once said, then i would like to put you people on notice, "you will all be facing a jc hearing soon" as you have had me pissing myself laughing, from the time i've been reading here, and as you all should know, laughter is a nono" not ever mentioned in km agenda "so your all bad" and i am thanking you for being so.

  Loved the question you asked the elder about 'where (from the bible) do they get the hours for pioneers .. etc'

  I too was never an elder, ms or a pioneer... it never made sense to me, I didn't see any of those things as privileges, more like slave labour.
