  hi everyone, someone just made me notice that the pdf document on the u.n. website proving that the watchtower associated itself as ngo from 1991(demand) to 2001 has been deleted or is missing.

  http://www.un.org/dpi/ngosection/pdfs/watchtower.pdf i sent an email (very short since they don't allow more than 200 characters) to the un to inquire.

  i doubt that they'll respond.i suspect that the watchtower pressured the un to deleted that link.....

  Do You Feel Somewhat Liberated When You Talk About Your JW Past?

  i do.. when i tell people that i was a witness, nobody can believe it!

  i enjoy telling them why i left the religion, the harm they cause, and the benefits of being out of it.. do you express yourself in this way too or is it only me?.

  YES! I love explaining to people why I left. I start by saying that I was in a cult and now I am free! This always gets their attention and logically they ask which cult. Then the truth about the JW religion spews out of my mouth and it feels sooo soooo good. I am truly amazed how people don't know much about us. When I told one of my co-workers, she had no idea that we refuse blood and would let our children die because our leaders say so - citing 1 out-of-context bible verse.

  I always make sure I phrase things correctly so they understand how cult like we are, for example:

  Jehovah's Witnesses believe their leaders in NY speak for God, Jesus chose them in the spring of 1919. Soon God will destroy all of mankind (7 BILLION) and ONLY the few million JWs will survive to enter a edenic utopia paradise, petting lions and eating fruit. The leaders from NY will be transported to heaven and rule as Kings with Jesus over all the earth. They have declared Armageddon is coming on such & such a date quite a few times in their short 130 years, they even built a house in San Diego for the soon-to-be resurrected Noah, Abraham etc to live in. Anyone that is NOT a JW is classed as 'worldly' and under the control of Satan! This means YOU! Every single JW carries a suicide card with them at all times, "No blood transfusion", this little card is a signed document allowing the doctors to let them die (without blood) without being sued. If you disagree with anything they teach, you will be cut off from the church and every other JW - even your own family MUST shun you, unless you come back to the cult.

  

  Their faces after hearing that is priceless! After they pick up their dropped jaw I explain how I can now enjoy certain music, movies, books and I am allowed to think for myself and have my own opinion on whatever I choose.... etc

  It is drummed into the JWs heads that the world knows our beliefs and respects them... sorry but that is pure BS! My co-worker was shocked and sickened. She said: "I never talk to the witnesses when they come to my door and now I will tell everyone I know to stay away from them!" Ah another great day of anti-witnessing. I love it.

  I feel like I'm a real life MATRIX! Like I woke up and I want to go back for others.

  All the stuff I’m learning about the org I just want to go and share this good news with all of them left in. Like I wanna use the teaching skills I learned from the JWs and reverse it on them.

  It’s like a strong desire inside of me. Like a fire in my chest. LOL! (whoomp whoomp. Bible Fail! Who was it that said that?) I wanna shout it at the top of my lungs. LOL! I never felt this excited and zealous about service! HA!

  EXACTLY what I felt and went through as well.

  Now it has been almost 1 year from when I took the red pill. It has been an awesome exhilarating experience! I keep learning, I keep growing as a person, life is better than ANY WT$ dream.

  I got rid of him but my home has felt afterwards like it was invaded and the peace that normaly lives within it taken away. I don't belive in demons etc but it feels like this odious man left his bad vibes here.

  Sounds like he has had a major affect on YOU, not your home.

  i was on shaky ground.. any major catastrophe in the world that took place, i thought.

  today i can not think of one single event.

  Today I can not think of one single event that would cause me to fall on my knees and beg the brothers to take me back, unless Jehovah appears and say this is my organization.

  Even IF their was a god named Jehovah and he appears and tells me that the WT$ is his org, I would simply say: "No thanks, your religions sucks and I do NOT want to live forever with your people (JWs)."

  So my answer to your question would be: "nothing"

  Here i am....

  here i am - born in truth, hard-core spiritual everything all my life, early reg.pioneer, ms, elder, assembly parts, tour at bethel, etc, married now...... i'm trying to examine jw teachings a little closer...... i've spent the last two weeks reading many many posts, info , references on where ex-jw's are coming from.

  i'm kind of concerned about a few things lately..... honestly - some points make sense to me - some don't - here are my general thoughts:.

  -wt getting un membership for access to library - doesnt bother me - some passports and other governement documents have similar forms and requirements..... -blood issue - some counterpoints to the jw 'rules' makes sense (original intent of scripture is unbled animals, white blood cells similar in mothers milk) etc -however a lot of 'apostate' reasonings and proof are inaccurate.

  Finally - the 1995 and 2010 changes about generations really really bothers me - scriptures dont say "and this overlapping generation will by no means pass away". Im scared crapless about this - all concept of armagedon coming is changed and not many of my fellow bros and sisters even realized this? am i wrong?

  - 587 vs 607 BCE leading to 1914: some points make sense - is there an actual hard and fast proof from a scholarly source of Babylons destruction date? - i've read the KISS method of explaining - to me it's as confusing as what JW's are accused of...

  So I finished reading the Origin of Species last night.....

  ...oh my.. i am not trying to start a creation vs. evolution debate, but something else really did stand out in my mind upon reading this "infamous" book.

  and that is that the theory of evolution is a very complex and at times, logically interesting theory.

  it makes valid points as well as asking fair and legitimate questions of the theory of creation.

  Yep, last summer. Extremely informative for someone who spent the majority of their life thinking evolution was the devil's work. If you don't really know much about evolution, this book is a great starting point. Lays it all out, and the evidence is overwhelming.

  Thank you unshackled I really look forward in reading it. You just whet my appetite even more for it.

  Thanks to the WT$, I was one of those who spent my life thinking evolution was the devil's work, until I woke up from the JW cult. Once I realized the bible was pure BS I started to think: "Wait a minute, if I was wrong about the bible, how can I still believe in creation?" It was time I looked into evolution deeply & properly, I watched a few videos on it and then I saw Dawkins book and thought: "This looks like a great book to start with" . . .

  so we lost our religion and its time for us to decide which religion to switch, i was sincere so i wanted to do his will as i was taught.... so many here still believe in god and christianity.

  so my question for you is.

  what makes you think that christianity is the true religion?

  Has anyone read Dawkins: 'The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution'

  

  Looks fascinating, I'm planning on buying it this month.

  I have quite a few of Dawkins videos, now it's time for his books.
