  Hi, new to this forum. Figured I'd let everyone know about my story before I got involved.

  if you just want the juicy details where i leave, i'll make disclaimer where it begins, if you just want to know what happened with the elders and organization after i realized it wasn't true, i'll mark that seperately.

  we didn't do jack shit in service, or in the congregation.

  maybe this was how jehovah came about?

  Wow, what a great read! Yes I read it all, a beer would be great thanks.

  I feel for you, your wife is not free from the cult and I can not even imagine how terrible it is for you & others who have partners trapped in. I remember the day I sat my wife down and I told her everything about the cult and how I felt etc.. she took it well and after two months I had helped her see it as a stupid lying dangerous cult. I hope that one day you can help your wife see it too...

  from australia very difficult life in the truth always fighting for the young ones as they had it very tough in the italian cong and i being a ms was always repramanded for it.

  been in the truth for over 30 years together with my sibblings and mother.

  mum passed away last year with parkinsons desease.

  I've written a short story for a short film and shooting will commence in a couple of weeks hopefully many JW'S shall be intrigued by it. It's titled 'Life is red' about the senseless belief of abstaining from blood and allowing your own to die.

  well i am new to this, and i must admit that at first i was very opposed to this site.

  i grew up being a witness and was warned about looking into apostate things, which is exactly what this site would be that they are referring to.

  i always tried to live my life the best that i could under the societys control, and never really got to have any life experiance at all.

  Show your wife how much she really means to you. Explain to her ALL the doubts you have about this stupid cruel religion, she will see that you are not just saying it to keep her. Bring up points that will make her think that you really do see the crap in the religion. Burn the society's books in front of her if you need to, do everything you can to prove you hate the religion as much as she does. She loves you & will see it. All the best my friend.

  i've been loggin in to this site for about 3 or 4 months on an almost daily basis.

  i decided to finally make an account cause i just have to vent and connect with those who have been in my shoes.

  "worldly" people don't understand completely when i talk to them about the hardship of being born into a religion/cult, growing up with people making decisions for me, and having them choose my future, goals, and dreams; all the while sacrificing normal childhood joys and replacing them with study, service hours, and 5 minute talks.

  When one of my relatives found out I had left for good, she told me that she cried & cried every night. It's so sad that they have been brainwashed to the point that when they find out that you don't believe in their fairy tales anymore they just break down and die inside. Sorry but my life is just that, my life. She is handling it much better now. Time helps, stay strong. Enjoy the real life now :)

  How many active JWs would opt for one meeting day verses two days per week.

  and he went away and started to proclaim in the decapolis all the things jesus/yeshua did for him, and all the people began to wonder" ( mark 5:20).. the first quote is an example of a man who worshiped the father as jeshus/yeshua did and he had strong faith in yeshua that enabled him to emulate his miraculous work, but was not a follower of yeshua, yet the apostles thought to stop this man because they did not understand the concept of the narrow road to life that jesus/yeshua was advocating (matthew 7:13).. .

  does anyone know the last mention of 1874 in the orgs publications?

  i am trying to pinpoint in their own literature when this was changed to 1914. i know the 1914 doctrine came into its "current understanding" around 1941, right?.

  That is what that book says, 3Mozzies, and it is a quote I would show a Dub but, from memory, that is not really the first time.

  I choose it because they are likely to have it on their bookshelf and because the later date gives them a fright. I have it on mine with a dogear at the page. The fact that it is incorrect is irrelevant if they spot it, because it is their book, not mine.

  Hey Black Sheep, I love showing that to my JW friends as well, it freaks them right out!

  Are You Going To the Memorial?

  i can't see myself not attending.

  i would feel horrible not to go.

  i don't know where i'm going to land and if i had to look back and think i didn't go... well, i would feel awful..

  I will NEVER go to another JW meeting in my life - especially the memorial!

  Ask yourself:

  * If you believe in Jesus then 'NO' because it is the most disrespectful evening of the year for Christians, when the JWs reject Jesus and pretty much just try and convince you that you shouldn't partake using scriptures taken out of context.

  * If you're a JW and believe Jesus returned in 1914, again 'NO' because Jesus said to keep doing this until he returned.

  * If you don't believe in Jesus then why the heck go anyway?

  So to sum up: "There is NO reason for any human to go to the 'Jesus Reject Party' held by your local JW cult!
