Best chili recipes for Superbowl?

this is not the right category, i'm sure, to post this.

but... can some of you give me your favorite recipes for chili?

i'm making it for the game tomorrow :) .

White chili-

Ground turkey or ground chicken

onion

white beans

cumin

yellow and red pepper

canned jalapeno

salt, pepper

add some broth and sour cream, mix till creamy

add some cilantro if you like that also

i'd say my worst is sometimes i don't like to deal with important things and don't unless necessary.. my best quality (and there are so many that this may be difficult.

Worst, I think I expect too much out of people sometimes, perhaps too idealistic.

Best, when I want something, I go for it and make sure it happens.

What's Your Favourite Way to Treat a Bad Cold?

i've been suffering from a really bad cold, with flu-type symptoms, for almost a week now.

very unusual for me.. it couldn't have come at a worse time, as i've just started working as a self-employed person, working outdoors in all weathers.

no sick pay, so no money coming in.. i expect that i'll be ok for monday, though.. i'm right in the middle of making a homemade lamb curry.

Umcka, it is the extract of a geranium plant that is supposed to work by inhibiting the virus from sticking to your cells. It works like most cold preventors or rememdies that shorten duration, take when you feel that first tickle in your nose or throat.

For flu, i buy oscillo, that works well. I also try elderberry extract.

so oompa got df'd this week...

no call to invite me to a committee meeting...no notification of deciding i should be df'd....no telling my jw wife of the announcement...not a chance to appeal what i did not even know what was going on...my mini-serve son is devasted....he even researched it....told me to go to page 153-154 of the od book...never heard of it but it is a green hardback given to all who are to be baptized.

wow...the elders broke every rule in this book as to my case.... i have no respect for these men that can take away your jw family without even telling you they are going to.

my jw son has now begged me to meet with my committee...even though there is prob zero chance they can reverse the decision...that chance is from when they let you know...and you have to appeal by letter within 7 days (i cant make this stuff up!!

The more I read this, the angrier I get. So do you thing the F-U comment was what gave the elders the reasoning to DA/DF you as a non cooperation type of stance, coupled with your wife signing because you told her you would have blood?

They must have pried into her to find that out? Or maybe family and gossip. Such a shame. So sorry. What are you going to do?

I am so sorry you are so upset. My heart goes out to you. This seems very unfair and cruel. So let me get this straight, you are inactive for several years, wife and son are in, you get in a life threatening accident, are on deaths door, and they call sometimes during your recovery, and want to know if you have taken blood or not because well, that is the rumor anyway? Then you get told out of the blue that you are DF'd?

So do you think this is because of the blood, or because you are outspoken against JW's?

What are the ramifications against this, will your wife and son go nuts? What about your employees, will they quit? I would be going apeshit myself that they did that with no warning and no basis. What are you going to do?

I would definitely stir the pot if they do this.

WOW, I wish they would show actual healing pics though. Tammy, the video was showing a method of harvesting stem skin cells, putting them in a water based solution and basically spraying them on the skin to help burn victims. A 2nd degree burn was healed using this method in 4 days. A process which usually takes weeks.

Did you ever find the meetings refreshing?

i can remember one pompous elder asking me "how can you be depressed after sittiing through such a wonderful meeting?!!".

i only ever felt relief at getting away, what about you?.

Refreshing? I feel refreshed after a shower, or a swim on a hot day. If I have to think of something positive I would be happy to see some of my friends I guess. The meetings themselves were very boring to me, unless the talk was something very attention getting. But refreshing no. I think at the time I felt good once I got home, thinking I did the right thing, and happy that I made others happy from being there. But deep down I resented the putting on of panty hose to the hauling in bookbags of stuff.

i'm talking ben bernanke, (current chairman of the fed).

richard abrahamson, secretary/treasurer of the wtb&ts of pennsylvania since 2000. i looked all over and couldn't find a picture of him, but he's famous for his bow ties.

Russia: JW convicted over refusing blood transfusion for her 5 year old son

in a first, a court convicted a member of the jehovahs witnesses religious sect over her refusal to sanction blood transfusion for a relative, a procedure banned by the sects teachings, interfax reported wednesday.. natalya podlozhevich was fined 5,000 rubles ($170) by a magistrate of the khanty-mansiisk regions town of kogalym, which found her guilty of abandoning in danger her 5-year-old son.. the unnamed boy was hospitalized last february in serious condition, the cause of which was not specified.

medics said he required blood transfusion, but his mother refused to sanction the procedure.
