  i've created a map in google maps for people to mark their location, you don't have to put your real identity if you don't want to.. you need to sign in with a google account, click the 'edit' button and then drop a marker on your location.

  First official shunning was AWESOME

  we went to target this weekend to look at halloween costumes for the kiddos (and maybe me - i'm still a kid at heart).

  my daughter and i were walking down a main aisle when an ex-friend - the very one who testified that i refused to discuss my doubts - came out of a side aisle and almost turned our direction.

  we made eye contact and i gave him a nod as we continued to walk toward him.... but he stopped like he'd run into a brick wall, then turned and started walking with his back to us so that we didn't cross paths.. my daughter pipes up and says, "hey, daddy, isn't that [edit]??

  I think you handled it well. I often think of what I would say if I ran into someone. I think first and foremost I would like observers to know that they are JW's and when they go to their door to remember their Christ-like attitude.

  As for Halloween, YES, you have to do it!!! I got the kids some halloween gear, and mommy went to a fun party on Sat when the kids were with their dad. If you PM me I will give you my FaceBook and you can look at the evil Satanic pics!!

  i just found out that i have breast cancer on thursday (see topic http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/medical/190249/1/i-was-in-the-hospital ).

  my sister has breast cancer too.

  she has had it longer than me.

  Oh my, please know your post just broke my heart. ((HUGS)) to you and your dear family!! Cancer is treatable, you can do it!! Lucky they caught it before it was worse. It will be a tough road. Maybe this will bring your family closer together. Feel free to come here anytime for support.

  perhaps nothing better illustrates the lack of a chrisitian spirit within the leadership of the watch tower society, than their slander and vilification of former members.

  a christian spirit would mandate prayer for and wishing such ones well, even if their sin were authentic and well documented, encouraging such ones to repent and accept the teachings of jesus christ.

  where is the verse in scripture that encourages hatred for a person who merely resigns his membership in an organization?

  walking back from town today we saw two old ladys and i said "good morning" my child said " are those ladys the ones in that religion that come and talk to you about something but i dont know what ?

  " i said they were not but she started to ask about grandma again(jw grandma that has not visited for 18 months , her disfellowshipped dads mother .

  ) it was quite difficult to answer some of her questions and i told her daddy and i dont want to be in the religion because they dont let you see your family who leave the religion (amongst other reasons !

  Why didn't we ever study "Mankind's Search For God"?

  it seems to me that pretty much every publication was studied at the book study, but we never did that one..

  This is the funniest thread ever! I do not think we studied it. But I remember looking at all of the symbols and liking the ying/yang and thinking how cool that looked at the time. I think it was trendy for some reason on clothing or something.
