my mom's cousin sharon passed away at 1:30pm thursday september 6, 2001. she was a lovely person and was always more like a sister than a cousin.
mulan held her hand every step of the way through a battle with breast cancer and she was with her when she died.. mom's birthday is tomorrow.
now she will celebrate sharon's life along with her own every year at this time.. i wish there was some way to ease your pain mom.

my father was rushed by ambulance from his rest home to st. marks hospital in salt lake city, utah friday, but i only just heard about it.
i received a call from the floor nurse and she told me he is not expected to live.

ok this has nothing to do with being a jw or anything of that nature but it is important to me and i need some help:.
here goes i have been drinking rum and coke (bacardi) since i can remember and finally realized that maybe it is contributing to my severly harsh hangovers.
so i went on a quest in search of a new drink.
I know you don't like Cranberry Juice but have you ever tried it with Rum? This is my drink of choice. Any juice with rum is a favorite. I prefer Malibu Rum but C. Morgan Parrot Bay will suffice (if you don't mind really sweet rum).
I also love Whiskey Sours. Not too strong..just right.
A really good Vodka with anything is always a good choice.
Of course, I am no expert. I have a very low tolerance and I am absolutely 'lets-get-naked-BLITZED' after 5 small rum&cranberry's so I really shouldn't even talk.

this is a chat i had a few months ago on yahoo (you people who chat on this stupid board, get yer asses over to yahoo, now!)..
jag1lisa: what religion are you.
cygnustsp: last thursdayist.
Excellent stuff.
You guys (and you KNOW who you are) are a delight to read.
My thoughts exactly.
That's pretty much what I was going to say so I'll avoid repetition and just agree with Nathan.

i am due in the middle of october and my husband and i cannot come up with a name.
i almost had him sold on venus, until he asked people at work what they thought and he got wierd looks.
i wanted to name the last baby sidney, but let him name her because he has never gotten a chance to name a kid before.
Just had to respond again...Vita's suggestion of 'Audrey' (a name I adore--Good taste Vita!), also brought to mind another favorite: Aubrey. I love this name. I know a little girl named Aubrey and she is the sweetest, smartest, most beautiful little girl I have ever met (besides my own )
I guess names by association really do have an impact!

PS: April; LOL...I know how you feel!
the ultrasound results are in: foxy and i are going to be having a baby girl, sometime around the end of january!
yippie!.
i'm just realizing, though, that i know nothing about girls, having grown up with three brothers.
Congratulations! I am so happy for you! I have a boy and a girl, and I must also agree that daughter and daddy usually have something special between them. My 21 month old daughter literally sits at the door waiting for her daddy to come home from work! Be warned: prepare to be utterly, completely wrapped around her little finger..but don't worry, you won't notice; and if you do, you won't care.

PS: Can I have your quote?

Hi!
I just heard this and thought it was quite suitable for this thread:
A psychiatrist was conducting a group therapy session with four young
mothers and their small children. "You all have obsessions," he observed.
To the first mother, he said, "You are obsessed with eating. You've even named your daughter Candy."
He turned to the second Mom. "Your obsession is money. Again, it manifests itself in your child's name, Penny."
He turned to the third Mom. "Your obsession is alcohol. Like the others, your obsession manifests itself in your child's name, Brandy."
At this point, the fourth mother got up, took her little 5 year old boy by the hand and whispered, "Come on, Dick, let's get out of here."
