  why did god plant the tree of knowledge right in the middle of the garden of eden if he didnt want the two people he'd created to eat the fruit?.

  why did he, the almighty god who created heaven and earth, lead his creatures into temptation and force them into obedience?

  (ironically enough, the lords prayer says.."lead us not into temptation!).

  hi everyone.. my name is caspian, i am an elder in a congregation in england.. i have been reading this forum for about 12 months, never having the confidence to log in.. however after all the information that has come to light in the recent weeks, i feel that i need to start coming to terms with the crisis that i now feel.. i am a third gen jw, and been an elder for 15 years, my family whom i love dearly are all naive fully committed jw's.. please if any current or ex elders in a similar situation care to make any good advice.

  hey there........

  im not an elder but an elders daughter! It must have been tough for you to post on here as it would be frowned upon by the society but I hope that as you've been reading on here for a year, that you know the majority of us are just seeking friendship and understanding. I hope you dont feel guilty for posting information on here...it means a lot to people like me and anyone who has had judicial meetings or problems with elders in the past.

  When alls said and done, we are all human beings who are capable of thinking but its very difficult if you leave the Truth to find someone who really understands what being a witness means.

  Incidentally, you'll probably know my parents....John and Mary Viney..dad is the HLC chairman!

  Feel free to email me at any time. I appreciate your concerns about the recent events and the way in which the Witnesses were portrayed. Its sad to say that these stories werent really made up or emphasised in any way, and I cant imagine what it must feel to those who are still witnesses who watched the programme.

  Keep posting and thanks for posting in the first place

  well having never eaten an Anchovie I cant possibly comment on the saltiness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  yes........horrible thought that it is, shipman would have been allowed to continue his murderous ways if the wts had anything to do with it.

  the 2 witness policy would have meant that he would have escaped justice.

  to say much more would have been slander and no doubt dubs would be df'd if they continued to make allegations.

  If He was omniscient, He must have known that in creating humans He had made beings who would be curious by nature, and that He would be forcing them to be untrue to their nature. Why might He have done that?

  Why did God reject Cain for displaying jealousy? Had He not forced him to be jealous by giving obvious preference to Abel?

  Was it really the serpent that seduced Eve into a desire for knowledge, or was it God Himself?

  interesting thought although even a JW doctor would be held under the governments scrutiny but point taken. Shipman couldnt have been a JW though cos how could he see people who are pregnant out of wedlock, had stds etc etc without preaching!!!!!!

  ELDER'S WIVES AND CHILDREN

  have you ever noticed how some elder's families are the worst example in the congregation?

  some wives lord it over the rest and think they are special , while some kids get away with all sorts of things because of big daddy.

  have you ever had a problem because an elder's family got away with something and you got blamed for it?

  In my own experience, Id have to agree with the majority on here and say that as an Elders daughter, I probably had a stricter upbringing than most. The only perks Ive seen about the Elders is when it comes to their own wrongdoing, then the covering up begins. In my own case, dad wasnt only an Elder but also the Chairman of the HLC comittee for Wales (and still is).when we did get together as a family not so long ago and had a big discussion about the past, one of the things dad did say was that he probably did sell me and my older sister out BECAUSe he was an Elder and therefore concerned about his own reputation.

  I dont think the children of JW elders get it easier, if anything, its a longer road to travel.
