Do you worry about money?
by Newborn inwhen i was jw i never had money but that was how it was supposed to be (have a boring part time job and pioneer)...i didn't worry about my pension coz paradise would come long before i'd reach that age.
well, now i will grow old (hopefully) and i do worry a little bit about my pension.
however, i do have some money saved now and earn a good living.

Yes. I have a part time job that ends in January and my Partial unemployment benifits end in January. Nobody is hiring then and the republicans stopped an extension of UI benefits from going through. I can't afford to buy clothes I need and soon will not be able to pay my rent, so yes I worry about money! Every day!

Brief Drama Parody: Do Not Let Your Eye Become Wicked
by sd-7 in[drama introduction music].
[brothers move out podium, replace it with a couch, love seat, and a television on a bench.
two teenage girls, who can best be described as jailbait for worldly people, watch an objectionable program together.].

Very good job sd-7! and your comment that "there are no decent people who are not JW's" is what my brother believes.

If you CHANGE what you said was TRUE...How could it have been true??
by Terry inif the bible says anything; it says what it says.. what is said doesn't change because nobody is continuing to write it.. the bible cannot change, then.. god's word (if that is what the bible is) doesn't change.however, if any person or group interprets the bible's doctrines and the doctrines change, then,it must be the interpreter who is in error.. (i call it "error" because; why change it otherwise?).
who would have enough hubris to risk representing god's word one way---and declare it truth--only to change that truth into something else?.
answer: the watchtower society!.

Is the information on JWfacts.com accurate?
by Nobleheart ini'm researching and going through so much material to try and find out whether jw doctrines and beliefs are based on the bible, as well as if they're consistent.
i'm a jw currently and i have many doubts at the moment.
fortunately this site is helping me so much, as there's always someone who's posted the same question i had in mind.

I've mentioned this many times to my brother. If something is true-it is true. It does not change and become false. Every teaching WT comes out with is said to be the truth from the mouth of Jehovah. Then they get "new light" and ta-dah! the truth is changed into something different, even the opposite. Oh but that does not mean what was taught before is not true. It was the truth too! But it was the truth THEN. Now we have the CURRENT truth. Everything the WT says is the truth. There is "OLD truth" and 'NEW Truth". This makes me mad. I told my brother that what we were taught in the TRUTH book was said to be the TRUTH! But now the truth book is wrong and you can no longer teach with it. So over 107 million people who have the truth book have been lied to by what is in it? No! It's the truth for back then! Now we have the new truth-we must stay current with the truth as Jehovah's chariot is always on the move! It does not bother him at all but I keep wondering why I accepted and believed such crap.
You are so right Terry! But it makes no difference to the witnesses. If the w & g said the earth is flat and the moon is made of cheese most witnesses would automatically accept it! after all, the science books were written by worldly people influenced and controlled by satan! The wt is from Jehovah's spirit! My brother would be the first one out there door to door with the w &g proclaiming these new truths! Isn't it incredible?

Today's Watchtower study shows how desperate they are
by Mickey mouse init seems as though at least one article in every issue of the study watchtower is devoted to reinforcing the governing body's authority.
this from pargraph 10:.
10 christ provides loving oversight of his congregations on earth by means of appointed elders.

My brother always tells me that we must obey the slave! I thought the slave must obey us!
It seems to me too that this emphasis on the GB HAS been increasing and there is less and less about the F&DS class. Perhaps over time the f&ds class is going to dissapear and only the gb will be referred to.

I was born and raised Jewish. All of my relatives are Jews by birth. To me it is a matter of geneology whether a person is a Jew or not. When I gave up practicing Judaism I was still a Jew for my geneology did not change. When I became one of Jehovah's Witnesses I remained a Jew ( not by religion of course) as my parents remained the same. When someone converts to Judaism it is simply joining anonther religion. Their geneology did not change-just their religious beliefs. You can't change your geneology! To me to be a Jew you must have been born one from Jewish parents, grandparents, greatgrandparents, etc.
I recall having a conversation at work back in the late 70's with a co-worker who was going through a conversion to Judaism process similar to what Moshe went through. Her husband was Jewish and they wanted to raise their children in the Jewish religion. I was already a JW and was witnessing to her...she claimed that I was not a Jew anymore and she was! I explained to her that I still came from the same parents, grandparents, greatgrandparents etc and etc (!) and that my geneology did not change. And neither did hers. She was simply joining a religion that I was born into and have given up. She wanted me to speak to her (unfriendly) rabbi to get his view of whether I am a jew or not. I told her I could not care less what his view was as I still have the same parents and relatives-religion has nothing to do with it- Judaism is just a religion. He ended up coming by the store to see her (and me) and ended up telling me to "return to your God, your People and your Religion". I told him I never left my God-who is Jehovah, I never left my people-my family and that Judaism is just a religion and I will not return to it. He was even more unfriendly to me after that and he told the girl to have no further discussions with me! Why anyone would want to follow Judaism I do not know. I would never have chosen it. But I am a natural Jew by birth and having a religion or not does not change who I am desended from! And it makes no difference if one is a desendant of the Israelites or not. One lady told me "you have Jesus'blood in you!".How can that be? He had no kids! Anyway, sorry to go on with this! But it seems the right place to mention it.

JWs love that " new generation" teaching- yes, they do.
by moshe infrom a discussion i had with an active sister this past week.
they had no "issues" with accepting the new generation understanding at all, she said.
all the brothers agreed with the reasoning, apparently there were no protests, murmerings or complaints.

They will just automatically go along with anything the WT says. You really have to be standing away from it to see it as it truly is.

yes... i should know better, but you know, i got to try.. it obviously gets under his skin and annoys him.
