The only way to argue against ridiculous statements is ridicule, but it offends the tender psyches of the people who want so badly to believe God and Jesus have a myriad of angels at their beck and call. So, we end up with a long, drawn-out argument that sways nobody, because the entire premise of the discussion is based on an initial lie. God isn't fixing things in anyone's life.

If you believe God is talking to you, putting your cancer in remission, getting you a job, finding you a spouse, etc...; you've gone off the deep end and are an embarrassment to theism. Please stop "helping" with your "proofs", because you make us all look like idiots. God isn't ignoring millions of starving children in Africa, just to get you out of your particular jam.

If you believe Jesus told you he was your butler, because of something in the Bible, then you're functionally illiterate and woefully ignorant of Scripture. I don't care if you believe God is supernaturally instilling you with knowledge or if you feel you're a Bible scholar; he isnt and you're not. If you believe God is doing anything to help you with your mundane life, you've lost your mind. Anything you "preach" to that effect just piles up evidence that you are not to be listened to, because you've completely slipped off your cracker.

And please stop with your answersingenesis.org "science". Don't lecture people about how the literal or figurative world works because of anything your pastor said or that you think you remember hearing somewhere. This entire thread is a laundry list of reasons people become atheists. For the most part, "Christians" are ignorant, stupid, and superstitious. You are doing far more harm than good for your cause, so if you care at all about anyone ever changing their minds in favor of theism, please crawl back into your ill-informed, illogical, kooky hole and stop - for the love of God - talking.

this is a very good find from another jw only web site i have access to... hey i just found this on a link of my mom's that she is "friends" with, yes, still a jw...anyway, i had to copy/paste it so you could all see, thought it was a bit hilarious to see how they blatantly speak of keeping info from "outsiders.

" i did not copy the name of the person since that is not my point and i am not that disrespectful, but i did copy their comment...they were discussing the wt about killing all apostates and someone that was studying asked a question as to whether they all thought that was right or not, so here it is..............."james... although its a great article and very encouraging, as apostates do deserve to be murdered, it may not be such a good idea to reveal it our friend zeek at this moment.

I've been thrown off of JW forums for downplaying the role of the Society and others who posted way-over-the-top stuff like this and open worship of the Society have contacted me afterward with words of consolation. Turns out a lot of super wackos are ex-JWs trying to make people think, by out-JWing the JWs. The sad part is, someone says something this extreme and nobody corrects him; nobody throws him off the forum for being a destructive influence. Sadly, playing the part of the nutjob, he is saying what real JWs are thinking. But real JWs are used to their 2-tier belief system and hiding the reality from outsiders. When they feel safe, like no non-JWs will hear, the truth starts coming out and it's not pretty. Unfortunately, in his attempt to get them to realize how crazy their own thoughts and feelings sound, he probably just got them all wound up, like a pep talk.

How would you assess the intelligence level of the individual GB members?

i know there's really no way to tell who has the highest or lowest iq of those on the current governing body or even who exhibits more thinking ability or more knowledge of wt bs.

but many of you have heard talks from these clowns at district assemblies throughout the us and abroad over the years... others here have seen the 2010 dvd "faith in action" or have seen youtube videos of gb members dispensing meat in due season... so i'm curious to know what your personal assessmenment is of the 7 stooges currently living in brooklyn heights.... here's my personal assessment... (from dumbest to least dumb).

guy pierce (completely clueless)anthony morrisgerrit loschstephen lettsam herdgeoffrey jacksondavid splane (knows enough wt bs to hold his own)again, i know this is a subjective assessment, but i would really like to know your opinion on who you believe has been dumbed down the most by the wt and who has been dumbed down the least.... thanks!.

It's very difficult to tell the difference between stupidity and willful rejection of the truth to further an agenda. We've probably all encountered the hard-headed resistance to cut-and-dry, slam-dunk proof from JWs, Mormons, holy-rolling faith-healing tongue speakers, etc. Some of these people may actually be quite intelligent, but sound very stupid on their belief system. It may be insanity, stupidity, ignorance, or outright lying. Does a fortune teller know she's a charlatan or is she convinced she has special powers? I guess it would depend on the fortune teller, but separating the degree of various motivations would be virtually - if not actually - impossible.

If the GB realize they're con men, what is their motivation? Do they cling to the glory, the lifestyle, the power? Do they fear the alternative, because without being "prophets", they're not qualified to be Wal-Mart greeters? Did they just trip over their feet into their positions because they were popular with the right people or did they claw and scheme their way up the socio-political JW ladder? Are they simply figureheads of the Watchtower corporation (like the British royalty) or do they take an active role in asserting their position? Each one's reasons may be totally different than the others.

There are too many variables that could contribute to boil it down to a single aspect.

Unless standing there with Jesus when he said that, on what basis would someone claim it applies to them? These are the men who went out expelling demons, healing the blind, raising the dead, speaking foreign tongues, etc. You claiming people do that now? Those are exactly the claims made by fraudulent "faith healers" and holy-rolling retards who babble like brain-damaged infants. Let me know what language you read and I'll try to translate into it. I never denied belief in God. Where you got that, I have no idea. One of the most annoying groups of religious idiots is the personal miracle people, who claim God is the janitor of their life, cleaning up messes and patching up cracks. That sort of anecdotal "evidence" is exactly the sort of thing that atheists prey on when arguing against existence of God. You going to tell us about "Andre", too? Yes, you're either a liar pushing your religious agenda or delusional. When it appears that nobody intelligent, educated, sane, or logical believes in God, then who wants to share company with that lousy lot?

Okay... You're delusional. You're not the only one in the world, so don't feel bad. You're not even the only one in the forum. Others here believe God is speaking to them and their completely "unique" doctrine is a product of Holy Spirit granting them supernatural knowledge. God doesn't do anything for us or to us. Satan is the god of instant gratification. For example, Jesus knew he would eventually be king of kings, but Satan tempted him with the kingdoms of the earth, right then. God's already said he'll fix everything in his own time, so why would you believe he'll drop everything and violate his timetable for you? That makes you not only deluded, but narcissistic. If anyone jumped to patch up something in your life like your own personal genie, it wasn't God.

No, I just like to put my insults out in the open, rather than couching them pathetically in transparent guises. I can honestly say the WT never screwed with my brain. They lied to me about what they believed, then reading the WT clued me in that they reject Scripture in favor of their own idolatry. Granted, many spend years or decades of their lives preaching lies because they're too lazy to read the Bible or think, but don't pin that on me.

Jesus said there was none greater than John the Baptist and God allowed him to have his head chopped off by a heathen. But, I guess you're special, so God takes more of an interest in your life. Hey, whatever you need to tell yourself. JW elders like to believe they're hand-picked by God to watch over his flock. I guess when one is a janitor (or some other form of loser), it's nice to dream there is a bigger plan in the grand scheme of things.

The entire premise of this thread is divine intervention (or lack thereof). People who pray for God to help them get a job that allows them to pioneer, pray for world peace, pray to heal, or really ask for much of anything are deluded. Why does God allow suffering? Because he's not in charge. He has made it clear, he is no longer "hands-on", like he was with Israel. In fact, for the rest of the world, he always was. Woe for the earth, because the Devil has come down to you. What would be the point of God jumping in to fix things here and there, but not fix everything permanently? Things are bad everywhere, but people are making things worse in some places more than in others. Why stop starvation in Africa and allow people to die of cancer? Why do people expect some half-assed salvation?

Religious idiots try to spread stories about modern miracles, in an attempt to prove their belief in God. What they actually do is undermine any miracles that have ever happened as just some other lie told in an old book. They also make God out to be wishy-washy and arbitrary. Why would he intervene for one person but not another? Why would he fix one ill but not another? These lies allow retards like the "Why won't God heal amputees?" guy to spread their illogical arguments. The truth is, nobody is being healed. Nobody is being saved. God isn't intervening on behalf of anyone, any time, for any reason. He's also not testing anyone, cursing anyone, or punishing anyone.

A time has been set for intervention and that time hasn't come yet.

Anyone who believes God jumps in to save or protect them and allowed John the Baptist to be beheaded is a flaming fuck-tard. We've seen the WT elude to divine intervention and we've all heard the "experiences" at the CAs and DCs and urban legends that float around the Hall. These are merely anecdotal myths to promote the interests of the Watchtower company and its subsidiary corporations. Faith healing is the same claptrap and anyone who believes it (no, I don't care if someone reading this is one of the morons) is an idiot.

i'm wondering what to reply to someone who said the main message of the "truth" is the same.

that jehovah is god and he sent his only-begotten son to die for us,so that,we could have everlasting life on earth.. the rest of the changes don't really matter to them.

that witnesses are the only religion to teach this and the only ones preaching it.

If that actually was their mission, a whole lot of ex-JWs wouldn't be "ex". Check out some of their blasphemous claims I cite in Do Christians Have Human Leaders? They might knock on doors with a message that sounds pure, but the real goal is a bait-and-switch scam. The central doctrine of JWs is obedience and unity under the thumb of the ever-elusive "faithful and discreet slave". Interesting how their authority is so absolute when their indentity is so tentative.
