What Do You Say or Is It Better to Saying Nothing?
by Eiben Scrood ini miss some of my old watchtower friendships.
usually i can just put the people out of my mind but when a big event comes up like me expecting my first child, i did reach out a bit.
this one friend in particular was kind of like an older brother to me.

Please Post Reasons For Not Believing The Witnesses Have The "Truth" Anymore
by minimus ini see a few want to believe in the watchtower's view of bible prophecy, scriptural understandings and the view that the "anointed remnant" dispense the "spiritual food at the proper time".. how would you refute those views?.

<<Shunning, misogyny, exclusivism, isolationism, oppression, narrow mindedness, 'waiting on Jehovah', prejudism, going beyond scripture, the math doesn't add up, inappropriate use of scripture to fulfill a man-made agenda, using fear and guilt to force a group of people to do what you want them to do, the 100% failure of their Armageddon Prophecy, their meaning of the 144,000 number from the Bible, their lack of understanding of the history of the Bible, their stance on higher education, their lack of critical thinking skills, and their ever widening gap and grip on reality.>>
Hope my graphic shows

True, many people just don't know how to die.
But my grandfather knew how to die. Yes sir! He died quietly and peacefully in his sleep....not like the others in his car who went kicking and screaming as they drove over the cliff.
OK, enough comic relief.
It is interesting that David feared death...at least premature death anyway. And actually, so did Jesus Christ...but not necessarily death itself...but the cup that was associated with it.

Mankkeli,
<<mrquik - Although, they all died in the flesh but the memories of their deeds and the way they lived their lives remains. Thats the logic and the plain truth behind the expression that those millions who witnessed 1914 will never die.>>
Such a revisionist spin doesn't hold an ounce of water. In context, the millions campaign of the early 20s reveals the WTBTS was predicting an end to Armageddon and by 1926 the general resurrection and restoration would be well underway and on that basis millions would not have to experience physical death. Those who had died before Armageddon of course would be raised after a quick phone call to Abraham in Jerusalem.

Christmas Origins VS. Watchtower's 1914
by Butterflyleia85 inok sooo this of course has nothing to do with each other but the reasoning is beneficial for critical thinkers.
christmas is one of the most popular holidays that has spread throughout the world.
what one can think is that this holiday must have its significance, yes greatly influenced but in order for something to be so influenced it has to have ground of truth and honesty behind it.

The Crux of the Matter For Me
by MrDarkKnight init has been very interesting and beneficial reading the posts and comments of everyone on the board since i joined back in june of this year.
the recent efforts of mankeli have made me consider exactly what it is i have issue with when it comes to the teachings of the wtbs and jehovah's witnesses.
i have stated my background before: 38 years in the organization, 10 years at bethel in responsible positions, 15 years an elder with circuit and district responsibilities and parts on circuit and disctrict assemblies, a former member of the hospital liason committee and a presiding overseer for 5 years.

Pose THIS QUESTION and watch JW"S REALIZE they have been DUPED!!
by foolsparadise ini told a current longtime jw friend who hasn't been to a meeting in months now :) this statement:.
"if jw's were so honest and this was the true religion that they really and i mean really believed was the truth, how come they never tell any of their return visits or children before babtizim that if they ever choose to think differently and believe differently and decides they no longer want to be one of jehovahs witness, they will be shunned by all former friends and last but not least family??!!
do you really think if they were told this "disclosure" at the time of studying they would continue?

'Where else is there to go'? Thoughts I had this morning--and evening...
by sd-7 ini was just thinking of something this morning.
when presented with the possibility that the witnesses could be wrong, the typical response is 'where else is there to go?
' in short, 'if not us, who?
