1 John 4:14 And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent his Son to be the Savior of the world.
<<The fact that God is the only saviour is not contradicted by the fact that God sends a saviour into the world to accomplish his will. God is the saviour and the one he sends forth is the means by which he saves.>>
I'm glad you can see that there is no contradiction. Do you also see no contradiction when God identifies Himself as sole Creator
Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; is.24:44 For thus saith the LORD that created the heavens; God himself that formed the earth and made it; he hath established it, he created it not in vain, he formed it to be inhabited: I am the LORD; and there is none else. Is 45:18
Similarly the NT identifies Jesus as Creator as well.
John
1:1-4
In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made
through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him
was life, and the life was the light of men.
Colossians 1:15-16
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.
Hebrews 1:1-2
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; My conclusion is that Jesus Christ as Lord, Saviour and Creator of all things is worthy of the same honour as the Father. That would include worship.
