Plus another handful to vaccum the carpets, clean the sheets, make the meals, wash the dishes, film the rockstars, print the propaganda, buy the booze and chauffeur the Faithful Slave to and from the airport.

Are there more Bethel layoffs in the immediate future?
by LongHairGal ini just saw a post on reddit: ‘wt are prepping the r&f for changes in the march/april meeting workbook’.. in the post the person noted what they read (for march 8) and it mentioned bethel adjustments and reference was made to 2015 when bethelites were let go.. if this happens (yet again) another bunch of people are being sent home to fend for themselves in the big bad world at an advanced age with little to no preparation.
even though this doesn’t surprise me, it could not come at a worse time with a global pandemic and massive job loss everywhere..congregations are already in turmoil because of so many who reached retirement age totally unprepared because they were told armageddon would be here before they reached that age.
this is in addition to all the other ‘needy’ and troubled types in the congregations looking for as$istance.. i hope any bethelites there have a plan and some people they can contact.

Jesus speaks in third person
by menrov ini stumbled on john 17:1,2 which reads in net version:.
17 when jesus had finished saying these things, he looked upward to heaven and said, “father, the time has come.
glorify your son, so that your son may glorify you— 2 just as you have given him authority over all humanity, so that he may give eternal life to everyone you have given him.. if jesus had a close relation with his father, would you not expect to read something like this:.

Jesus seems to have wanted to withold specific information at times, such as forbidding demons from confessing who he was. If he had identified the other sheep as Gentiles for example he might have been rejected and persecuted needlessly by the Jews as Paul was for including them in God's plan of salvation.
Picked the following up somewhere on line.
Ben witherington III (a conservative NT scholar) holds that
if Jesus were to let on too early who He was He would have been crucified before being able to get done whatever preaching and teaching and miracles He did get done.
if Jesus' own followers didn't understand fully what He meant by calling Himself the son of man and the son of God, then how much more so everyone else? The full disclosure of who He was came after the resurrection (because no one understood that the Messiah would have to be crucified and then raised) when in John 21 Thomas calls Him "my Lord and my God!"
Makes sense to me.

Or you could just accept your mom's will and refuse to be a pain in the neck only a little lower.

What Are Jehovah’s Witnesses Like Nowadays?
by minimus ini’ve been gone a long time.
after my mother passed away a few years ago, i pretty much lost most contact with the witnesses.
a couple that were family friends for many years stopped checking on me to say hello.

Sea Breeze
Hadn't heard that Witnesses are permitted to vote. Anything in the literature about that?

Being Reinstated
by azl0058 inso my brother recently became df.
he has full intentions of being reinstated, but it is going to take at least a year.
if the end times occurs while he is df, will he still be allowed in the kingdom of god?.

Man made rules, man made promises, man made salvation, man made religion.

《No...he's toast.》
Precisely Stan. Exactly; you've captured the organization's response cryptically and accurately.
Fortunately for Az's brother, Jesus doesn't abide by the organization's heritical views or dictates.

I have been out of the cult for 10 years now! What is their latest stance on Vaccines or the Covid-19 Vac? Any insiders?
by Intel ini used to be very active on this board - 14 years ago (redpill2006...still remember blondie, barbara and many others).
then left the cult for good 10 years ago (ex-bethelite, ex-elder).
today, after so many years, i decided to come back because there is an issue that is nagging in my mind.

As a legal beneficiary of the will you had a right to see both the will as well as an accounting of funds in the estate account. Actually the lawyer or notary your stepdad used to probate the will should have sent all beneficiaries a copy of the document. Get his name and address from your stepdad. Tell your stepdad you suspect the estate was not settled properly and that you want a copy of all estate banking records. If he balks or will not provide you with all the details visit a lawyer.
My take is that the lawyer will draw up a letter calling for a detailed accounting of funds received and dispersed from the estate account. If your stepdad has cheated you, your call and the letter should put the fear of the law into him as executor.

You don't seem to know if your poor sister is in the new will. Do you know if you are in it?
What your dad would have thought or how poor your sister is or how big or small the estate is makes no difference.
If you are not in the legal will, and you have no evidence that your mom was incompetent or coerced, don't waste your time and money trying to get the will changed.
