Mocking of the Organization from JWs
by NomadSoul inthis is what my aunt told me.. once an elder at the closing of the meeting said this about the revised reasoning book with a sarcastic voice.
"brothers and sisters don't forget to get your copy of the new reasoning book, it has over two hundred revisions!"..
my aunt swears he said it in a sarcastic mocking tone.. i thought it was funny so i had to ask if anybody else had similar stories..

Field Service Reports Count More than Showing Love - Ray Franz CF Book
by flipper ini've always suspected this was the wt society's view when i was in the jehovah's witness organization - but never knew the head of the writing committee karl adams had written a letter to nathan knorr ( then wt president ) recommending a change regarding reporting field service time as it wrongly emphasized jw members being seen as mainly being approved due to field service statistics - instead of emphasizing christian qualities of love, kindness, peace, etc.. karl adams had been personally handpicked by nathan knorr to be the head of the writing department.
in 1971 he wrote a letter to knorr which he wanted shared with the entire governing body as well .
i'll share the main parts of that letter.. on pg.

Flipper...
In my congo, there were two pioneers who were constantly watching the other pioneers, especially the aux pioneers, to see if they were really meeting their quota...
One of those pioneers, an elder, would spend at least 75% of his field service time gossiping with his assigned partner about other brothers in the congo (and other nearby congos)... whenever I was paired up with him, I would cringe... it would always be a continuous onslaught of demeaning gossip about how brother John was fixing his roof instead of going to field service first or how sister Mary only places magazines... It was really embarrasing...

'Great Crowd' of 12 people get baptised at District Convention!!!
by burnedout inyesterday, out of 4,035 people in attendance at the dc, only 12 people were baptized.
that is one more than eleventeen and one less than a baker's dozen.. .
want to take a guess as to the age group of this 'great crowd?

Yeah, that's about normal for a DC of that size... 8 to 10 born-in kids who want to get married (with already baptised born-ins) and 1 or 2 adult "loners" who never Googled "Jehovah Witnesses" before accepting a book study...

What would the Watchtower Society do with $116 Billion?
by slimboyfat inin 2009 two people claiming to be jw missionaries were arrested in possession of "fake" us bonds worth $116 billion in italy.. "the philippine nationals claimed to be jehovahs witnesses and wanted to sell the bonds to finance their religious missions, the prosecutor said.
the individuals had contacted the bank of italy for advice on how to deposit the bonds and some were due to be sold into the u.s., dettori said.".

How so?
The WT is not very well liked in Italy (because of all their Catholic-bashing over the years)... If it were actually proven in the course of the investigation that these Fake Bond trafficers were in fact JWs, the Italian government would have had a field day with the WT within Italy and this would have most certainly turned into a huge media event in less than 24 hours...
That's not to say that the WT isn't capable of sending out mules for this sort of thing (as I just pointed out above).

Obviously the persons arrested for transporting these fake bonds were not JWs...
However, I do know an ex-JW missionary who was asigned to Spain in the late 70's... he explained how he sometimes had to illegally transport obscene amounts of cash from Madrid to New York several times a year. It was an acceptable pratice because it was considered "Theocratic Warfare"... The proceeds were usually from assembly donations.
