  I've just read the Spanish version of the July 15 "Mentally Diseased" WT article...

  this morning i decided to download the spanish july 15, 2011 watctower just to see what phrase was used in spanish for "mentally diseased".... i was disgusted to find that the phrase used in the spanish wt is "mentalmente enfermo"... now, this translation may appear to be correct, particularly if you used an english/spanish dictionary to translate from english to spanish.

  however, if you ask any hispanic person (who speaks spanish & english fluently) to translate "mentalmente enfermo" into english, 99% of the time the translation will come back as "mentally sick"... that's right mentally sick (not mentally diseased).. now just imagine yourself reading this article for the first time and in place of seeing the phrase "mentally diseased" you actually see "mentally sick" instead?

  WT Flip-Flops on Jesus’ Inspection… Was it in 1918 or 1919?... Did the WT PASS or FAIL?

  this is utterly ridiculous.... .

  the more i research this particular subject, the more flip-flops i uncover.

  it seems the fds cant even make up their minds regarding what happened in 1918 (or should i say 1919?).

  The more I research this particular subject, the more flip-flops I uncover. It seems the FDS can’t even make up their minds regarding what happened in 1918 (or should I say 1919?). As a matter of fact, they can’t even decide what year Jesus’ alleged “Inspection” took place or even what the immediate outcome of said inspection turned out to be.

  Here’s a quick list of references I looked up early this year when I was trying to sort out all the contradictions regarding this inspection:

  Now, assuming the FDS finally decided to stick with 1918 as the actual year of this inspection and assuming they PASSED this inspection. It would behoove JWs to research exactly what was “spiritual food” the FDS was dispensing that year so they can decide for themselves whether or not the FDS in fact passed this so-called inspection.   I must say, having finally read this in Spanish, I am even more disgusted with this article than I was originally (having first read it in English)...

  ‘How Will I Be Able to Preach?’

  Throughout the world, we have outstanding examples of brothers and sisters who faithfully share in the preaching work despite coping with serious health problems.

  Take, as an example, Dalia, who lives in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania.

  Dalia is a sister in her mid-30’s. Since birth, she has suffered from the effects of cerebral apoplexy. That disorder has left her paralyzed and with a serious speech impediment. As a result, only family members are able to understand her well. Dalia lives with her mother, Galina, who cares for her needs. Although Dalia’s life has been filled with adversity and anxiety, she maintains a positive outlook. How is that possible?

  Galina explains: “In 1999, my cousin Apolonija came to visit us. We noticed that Apolonija, who is one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, knew her Bible well, and Dalia began to ask her many questions. Before long, a Bible study was started with Dalia. Occasionally, I joined them in the study to help interpret Dalia’s speech. I noticed, though, that everything that she was learning really benefited her. Soon I too requested a Bible study.”

  As Dalia began to understand Bible truths, one question started to bother her more and more. Finally, she spoke up and asked Apolonija: “How is one like me—being paralyzed—able to preach?” (Matt. 28:19, 20) Apolonija calmly reassured Dalia: “Do not be afraid. Jehovah will help you.” And, indeed, Jehovah does.

  How, then, does Dalia preach? In several ways. Christian sisters help her to prepare letters with a Bible message. First, Dalia expresses her thoughts to the sisters. Then, they compose a letter containing her thoughts. Dalia also witnesses by sending text messages on her mobile phone. And when the weather is favorable, congregation members take her outside to approach people they meet in local parks and on the street.

  Dalia and her mother have continued to make spiritual progress. They both dedicated themselves to Jehovah and were baptized in November 2004. In September 2008, a Polish-speaking group was formed in Vilnius. Since the group had a need for more Kingdom publishers, Dalia and her mother joined it. Says Dalia: “Some months I get worried when I have not yet been out in service. But after praying to Jehovah about it, soon someone makes an appointment to go out with me in the ministry.” How does our dear sister Dalia feel about her situation? She states: “The disease has paralyzed my body, but it has not paralyzed my mind. I am so happy to be able to tell others about Jehovah!”

  JWs preparing for some "Special Top Secret Meeting" does anyone knows about this?

  i was talking to one of my jw ex-friends today (we keep in contact every once in a while) and she was all excited telling me about the new arregment, a special meeting only for elders, their wives, pioneers and other sheep of "exemplary" conduct... (of course she was invited)..... something about one meeting from bethel that is going to be broadcasted to everyone at assembly halls and translated via radio for those who cannot speak english... is by invitation only (and they are "being discreet w the invitations to avoid offend the ones not invited") and they even gave them tickets they have to present at the door..... anyone has the scoop??

  in my area, a jw with "exemplary conduct" is basically a non-elder / non-pioneer who cleans toilets after meetings, reports at least 10 hours per month, and invites the congo overseer to social gatherings at least twice a year... yes, there are still a few jws that fit this mold and would get the left-over tickets in my area...

  Of course it's possible!!! ... For example, if he falls down a flight of stairs and wakes up in the hospital with amnesia and a Jehovah Witness patient sharing the hospital room with him shoves a Witchtower rag in his face, he could easily get reindoctrinated. Anything is possible with jehovah.

  The WT plays the blame game.

  i was thinking about this yesterday.

  when the wt claims that they are spirit-directed (not inspired mind you, whatever that means), and then they go and make a mistake, change doctrines and/or flip flop, where do they lay the blame?

  do they say that they were the ones to make the mistake, or do they shift their blame elsewhere?

  I've also heard this from an elder... 1975 was a test from Jehovah to sort out the JWs who were serving him with a specific time frame in mind... I've also heard: it was Jehovah's way of doing "sprong cleaning"... WTF!!!

  What exactly are men at the back of the hall taking care of?

  once people have come in, and the doorman and the mic men are in place, why are there a few other suits scattered about at the back?

  i saw a guy get up, sit down, get up, sit down, get up and when i looked what he was up to he was reading the noticeboard and looking around, waiting for a bus.

  i figured he wasn't doing much at that point, but anything to not stay seated.

  They're probably just taking care of homework so they won't have to do it at home... field service reports, territory assignments, part assignments, bills, accounts, literature orders, etc.. They usually want to be able to get as much of that BS done during the meetings so they don't have to waste anymore valuable time that they could spend with their families. But somehow, the Watchtower always seems to keep them busy at home also...

  we received an email from an old friend who is still an elder and doesn't know what we are up to.

  "a change, they are no longer training missionaries and sending them into foreign fields.

  the witchtower knows they can spin this into anything they want and most jay dubs won't ever have a clue what's really behind all of this... this will likely be viewed by the average jay dub as a "sign" that jehovah is wrapping up the preaching work and that armageddon is right around the corner... again.
