6Greed & Blood Transfusions
by Alfred inif this doesn't make you angry, nothing will.... you say that "at a blood transfusion the person receiving the blood is in great need of it; the transfusion is not undertaken because he is greedy for it".
for when a doctor tells a patient that he must have a blood transfusion or else he cannot get well and live, what does the doctor create in the patient but a greed for the blood of another human creature?
-watchtower may 15, 1950 page 159. so, according to the wt, people who accept blood transfusions (because they want to live and be there for their children) are greedy!

JWs pronounce the popular version of Gods name
by Alfred ingrowing up jw, the elders in my congo never wasted an opportunity to remind the youth in my congo that we should always endeavor to do what is correct in gods eyes, not what the world considers to be popular.
this would cover just about every subject (clothing, music, sports, entertainment, etc.)..
however, when it comes to the one thing that should probably matter the most to all jay dubs (correctly pronouncing gods name), popularity takes precedence over correctness.

What's going on at 100 Henry Street?
by Alfred inid like to first clarify that i am not a conspiracy theorist by any stretch of the imagination.
however, i couldnt resist connecting the dots on some research ive been doing recently about watchtower spin-off corporations.
one such corporation that caught my attention is located just a few blocks away from the wtbts headquarters in brooklyn, quite possibly in a back room at the st george hotel on 100 henry street.

Why was Rutherford sent to prison?
by Alfred inwell that was 93 years ago so well probably never know all the facts.
but the wt claims that russell and others were falsely accused of sedition.
the may 9, 1918 new york times article that covered these arrests and sedition charges states that they were charged with spreading doctrines calculated to promote unrest and disloyalty among the men of the army and navy.

Finished Mystery (1917)... The book that Jesus approved...
by Alfred inso a few months ago, a friend sent me an actual copy of finished mystery which was published in 1917 (not a pdf download... the actual book).
i must say, this was the most disturbing book i have ever had the displeasure of reading.
but i only read it because this was the main publication that was being distributed worldwide when jesus supposedly chose the watchtower in 1918 and i basically wanted to see for myself what jesus saw in the wt that would compel him to choose this religious corporation over all other religious denominations.. anyway, if anyone is interested in knowing the actual contents of this book, here are some bullet points i put together from some of the notes i took as i read the book:.

WTBTS now has access to 67,000 additional homes in Puerto Rico ($$$)
by Alfred inthe boston circuit court of appeals has just granted jay dubs in the us territory of puerto rico unobstructed access to controlled-access gated communities in puerto rico.

sadly, two things were completely ignored by the court.. 1. aside from enjoying a higher level of security, one of the main reasons that people purchase homes in gated communities is to avoid having their evenings interrupted by persistent door-to-door salesmen and to be able to sleep in any day of the week without getting awakened by jay dubs at 9am.

Watchtower claims Armageddon will come when US is no longer a World Power
by Alfred injust when i thought the wash towel was done trying to interpret the book of revelations, i came across this from paragraph 16 on the last page of the march 15, 2011 watchtower.... .
the urgency of the times we live in is underscored when we consider the inspired prophecy at revelation 17:10. the seventh king, the anglo-american world power, has come into existence.
concerning it we read: when he [the seventh world power] does arrive he must remain a short while.

1914 to be abandoned around 2016
by Alfred inthe other day i was doing some research about "1914" for a friend on my wt cd library (spanish) and i found it quite interesting that the number of times "1914" is mentioned in the watchtower magazine during the previous 3 decades has been dropping exponentially as follows.... 1980-1989: mentioned 854 times.
1990-1999: mentioned 492 times.
2000-2009: mentioned 222 times.

Faith In Action DVD... A tribute to Freemasons
by Alfred invery few people actually know this but the watchtower dvd faith in action is actually a tribute to freemasonry.
this dvd presents illustrations of several famous freemasons such as john coustos (a portuguese grand master from lisbon circa 1740).
the dvd actually presents two illustrations of coustos being tortured by the clergy while the anonymous narrator denounces historic abuse from the clergy.

Bethel Branch at Ajalvir, Spain
by Alfred inmost of you have probably read about this already, but just in case... i recently came across some interesting information regarding the spains' bethel branch in ajalvir.
on march 26, 2007, spains's department of labor and social matters (ministerio de trabajo y asuntos sociales) paid a very unwelcome visit to the branch and conducted a site inspection which uncovered overwhelming evidence that the watchtower society was knowingly violating varios legislative decrees regading workers' rights.
it was further discovered that the society was intentionally circumventing the law in order to avoid having to pay social security benefits as required by the "regimen general del sistema de seguridad social" (spain's ss administration).
