Well last year would have been my 1 year anniversary and the day went passed me I ddnt even remember. And my 2 year is coming up next month. And ill probably forget the day again. Its not important to me. I think I got baptised because it was the next step and I had doubts and I told the persOn who I was studying that I wasn't sure about it. Well when I was talking to an elder one day after the meeting about maybe getting baptized he goes and tells me "well, sister how much field service time have u had? First thought in my head was "where in the bible does it say anything about reporting time as a prerequisite to baptism." Smh I should have listened to my gut feelings that I had. I WILL NEVER CELEBRATE THAT ANNIVERSERY!!!!!! I will be celebrating my birthday and I'm throwing a suprise Birthday party for my child!!! And I might even do christmas and easter and valentines day :)

Welcome!!! I never understood how jw backd th "slave" theory using the bible. Just their interpretation of it to juStify why all jw's mmust obey Their authority.

Help me...
by rafreuter ini wish this weren't the way i greeted the board.
i've been lurking here for about 2 years now, but was unable to really interact because of limitations of my ipod browser (you can't post from there) and the parental controls on my computer.. .
well 2 years later, i'm a big boy, turned 18 and moved out.

U need to stay true to yourself, and u willNOT be able to do that being a witness! Do not give yourself a time table u can't do that it takes time to get yourself together. Were u happy before u left home and attending the meetings? Do you think u will be truly happy if u go back? I suggest that u take as much time as u need to figure your life out. You have friends here! Love always Dawn

by dawntodaylight ini had started studying with jw because i was curious about the religion because my bf then(now husband) was a witness.
i am a very open minded person and really had i known what i know now i prob would not have been baptized.
i always had my doubts but i really enjoyed the positive aspects that i was learning at the meetings...i studied with my mom in law.i prob shouldn't have done that because she has taken it very personal that we have stopped and even had the nerve to say i started studying to get in good with the fam!!

I've told my hubby about this site but he isn't much of a site user. He is more about reading and videos so guess what he is doing right now watching a video on youtube about the wt and it affiliation with the un. Knowledge is the key..and that is exactly why the org dsnt want u to get info from other sources. Smh

What's wrong with my friends?
by Alan_56 ini really can't stand it when i can't go to someones house just because they are "worldy".
why can't i just be a normal teenager and be able to choose my friends whom ever they may be?
i told my mom i don't have any witness friends then she told me "well you better find some or else your gonna have some serious problems".

There isn't anything wrong with your friends but because your parents are jws they believe that anyone who isn't a jw is a bad influence on u. Imagine how your parents would feel if they found out u are involved with this site..u are going to make friends here as well. And they will not approve why? Because we do not agree with the jw controlling policies and practices. What u need to do is get a job open up a bank acct and start saving your money NOW!!! Do good in school because that will be a part of securing an independant future. And obey your parents please!

Its funny cause we ddnt do a fade we just stopped! I'm a grown woman and I only answer to my husband and to jehovah that's it!in the beginning when I was getting a lot of pressure from MIL i was starting to get really confused, depressed and very uneasy but .with my husbands support I got thru it. So I can just imagine the psychological affect that those who grew up as jws get when they leave. Smh I remember the last time I went to the hall one of the elders came up to me and said that I owed him time...didn't say hi how are u. At that point I knew I wasn't going back. If jehova knows all why do I have to keep a log of my time. We have had a few elders call on us but they no better then to pry and get in our business. My hubby had doubts about jw even though its all he knew! And we are already feeling the shunning from fam and jw so called friends. Soooo here I am. I love this site its a support group for all of us that have been affected by the controlling aspects of this religion.
