  DF'd and struggling....LONG POST........my story.

  how do i make a long story short?

  i am fully aware that if anyone in my area were to read this that they will know who i am.

  i was disfellowshipped on january 28th 2010 after an "interview" about an evening of bowling with friends and family back in november 2009. i was among 4 who were disfellowshipped and 6 who were publicly reproved.

  This is such a clear example of the unfairness of the WT judicial system. You could put this story in a dozen different congregations and get a dozen different results. (In my congregation, the elders would get together and have a couple of beers afterwards) I know you must feel devastated by such outrageous behaviour from elders of your congregation. I didn't know that getting drunk, even a number of times, was grounds for DF'ing. We had an elder some years back that was causing a ruckus in some of the local bars. It was a year before he was asked to even step down. He was back in business in another year. It's hypocrisy. This is just another thing that is making me completely convinced that this organization is not spirit directed. Take heart, the people on this board will give you support and encouragement.

  were (are) there certains ones in the congregation that elders do not offer counsel to because of family ties, connections, or that the families or characters within that family are outspoken?.

  Thoughts on NOT dating

  wondering if anyone feels the same as i do.

  you know, being brought up not being allowed to date until you were 'of marrying age'.

  We are five generations of JW's and none of us had had chaperones.

  I have to say in all honesty that none of the elders I have ever known has given me any counsel on this or any other matter. (No, I take that back, once two showed up and wanted to talk about my continued association with a member of my family who was disfellowshipped, but when I basically said it was really my business why I needed to, they dropped it politely) I would be curious if elders sometimes leave certain people alone because of family background or because they have strong personalities and would challenge them. Recently a young elder asked me if I wanted a sheperding call and I told him no, that he had recently given a talk that I disapproved of and that I was still a little miffed over it. We discussed the talk, why I felt upset about it, and I don't think there will be a sheperding call. I think I will post this question on a separate thread without my opinion and see what the elders say.

  Do you think your leaving makes it easier for others to leave, too?

  i am not trying to minimize the pain and difficulties of leaving the scam (being fortunate never to have belonged to it, in the first place), but i would like to ask people a question.

  have you thought that, if you leave, your friends and family have someone out there who really understands them and could be there for you?.

  on the one hand, your family and friends will shun you, that's for sure.

  No, not if I leave too soon. People can only follow if you lead. You can't lead my stubborn family from the outside, I will have to take the lead from the inside. but not until my mother has passed on. It would cause her death to have that kind of strain and upset in her physical condition. My time will come. Already I am having an influence....

  I am thinking about other things now. How I plan to spend the week. what I need from the store. what i wished i had said to the checkout girl at the 7 eleven. Before i know it, it's time to go home. Maybe it's because i am getting old. Sometimes i do the same thing when i sit down to watch tv, suddenly i realize it's over, and i forgot to watch. Ha,ha,ha

  i am a born in who holds absolutely no animosity toward any witness.

  i have had weeks and weeks of trouble trying to log in, but i'm here now.. long story short, i am one of 4 children who were raised as witnesses.

  today's been somewhat of a strange day for me, but what concerns me is that i can't provide an explanation why.

  i awoke a couple minutes before my alarm clock went off, as i always do.

  its rare that the alarm wakes me.

  I agree with a couple of the posters that this could be mild panic attacks. A lot of people have them and don't realize it because they are the really severe ones. The way you describe them, it sounds like my mild ones. I have had a couple of real lulu's in the past, but mostly I have tiny ones, sometimes a couple of times a week. Try not to worry, it's terribly common.

  Watched the video brotherdan,

  that's pretty scary folks, but the thing that scared me the most is the device that identifies the isp as belonging to someone.

  Can someone do that to this site other than simon? Now I'm really uncomfortable, even though I have not posted anything that otherwise identify me personally. Should I ask this on the tech forum?
