They have an answer for pretty much everything. They suck.
lol
i recently listened to an old fred franz talk that i found online that i remember attending when i was 11 in 1983 in indianapolis.
since i remembered that i didn't follow what he was saying back then, i wanted to listen to it and see if i could understand it now.
(the only difference is he still doesn't make much sense, but now i know it wasn't just because i was too young to understand at the time.).

has anybody else come across jdubs that have never heard of the kingdom interlinear translation?
i noticed this artcle http://www.soundwitness.org/jw/kit_part1.htm and i've found when i asked witnesses about it some never heard of it and other's had heard of it but didn't have one and didn't know if they were still in print and one got all weird and suspicious saying "well what do you want it for?".
when i called the watchtower and asked if it was still in print the guy had to put me on hold and look it up somewhere, he didn't know off the top of his head.
I have both a KIT and Emphatic Diaglott. I have found it eye-opening.
I originally used them to understand where the "Great Crowd" are serving GOD. It is absolutely clear that they are in the "Divine habitation" and not on the earth.

BTT for VM
several years ago, before my wife and i left, my 5 yr old daughter got up during the watchtower to cross the aisle to sit with someone else.
she tripped on the roving microphone wire and smashed her head on the foot of a metal chair.
the bleeding was profuse and an ambulance was called.
Ahhhhh....I see.
Your principles are subjective. Very nice. You didn't see fit to seek damages at the time, but waited several years, before the statute of limitations ran out to sue.
If you were a principled person, your view of the congregation would have zero to do with whether you felt they were liable for the damages. Obviously you didn't feel they were liable at the time, but as your animosity toward the congregation grew, and after you left, you felt you could go back and grind an axe.
I'm glad I don't know you.
ok first off let me ease your worry...i'm not asking you 'what stocks i should invest in.
' i have a stock in mind that i have seen progress steadily up and up.
before i could even think about investing, i knew this company was going to take off and it's slowly climbing.
You should see if you can buy the stock through your 401(k). Sometimes there are a few individual stocks you can buy through your 401(k) but it's usually limited to mutual funds or common stock of your own company.
I would look into setting up an etrade account. I have one. You don't need any special license or permit to buy stock. All brokerages have fees associated with trades. You're not going to get out of paying a fee for buying stock.
You will receive a tax form by January 31 of your gains or losses for the previous year. You have to pay capital gains on the appreciation of the investment. You can deduct any losses.
The upshot is you can do it yourself through etrade or sharebuilder, and they'll let you know next January what you can deduct or claim as income on your taxes.
It's not very complicated. Don't be intimidated by it. Normally, I would recommend you go through an advisor, but since you are interested in buying one particular stock, you should be fine just doing it on your own.
Good luck!

VM44,
Here's a link to the talk.
And here's a link to a whole host of talks from special talks, to Circuit Assembly parts, to DC talks.....I was able to find some people I remember and the talks they gave. (one of whom is now a Circuit Overseer) It was enjoyable to listen to my old friend who's now a CO because he really is a loving and caring person who is really good at giving talks.
an older man on the elder body i was on, once said at an elders meeting, just prior to a co visit:.
"brothers we want to be careful not to bring up any dirty laundry with bro...co when he comes to visit" i didn't say anything at the time because i was duly doing my duty as a non thinking jw or at least non speaking and i also knew i was outnumbered.. even though i put this in quotes, i really don't remember exactly what he said but the general idea is there.. so the question is, has anyone else had a similar experience?.
perhaps some may have some thoughts on the many shows that go on in a kingdom hall..
The CO had the elders in one congregation I attended apologize from the platform to the congregation for their mishandling of situations and not showing love to the brothers and sisters. It was a large congregation with only two elders at the time. One was a special pioneer and the other was in his early 30's at the time. The entire body of elders had been removed about 3 years prior to this. I guess you can only hide things for so long, eventually the truth comes out.

When my son was about 2 years old, he fell, and his little fat chin hit the floor of the KH. Poor little guy had to go to the ER and get stitches while I had to hold his head down while he was looking up at me with his big eyes full of tears, not understanding why I wouldn't pick him up and hold him while the doctor was putting stitches in his chin. I seriously think it was nearly as hard on me as it was on him......
That being said......I NEVER considered suing the congregation, or the KH. Accidents happen and it's not their fault.
Why people are so litigious and sue happy, these days I don't understand. As long as there isn't any negligence or malice, I don't think it's right to sue. Someone getting hurt shouldn't create a windfall for them, or their parents.
I feel for your daughter and I understand how traumatic it can be especially with all of the blood and crying etc.......I hope your daughter is doing well now especially her cardiac problems.

He mentioned how the 4th bowl of Revelation was poured out in 1925 in Indianapolis, and the sun became scorching in fulfillment of Rev.16:8,9.
This also coincided with the 4th Trumpet blast of Rev. 8:12.
This led to me getting out my old, underlined, and studied copy of the Revelation Climax book. In it, I noticed that it seems there are no fulfillments of trumpet blasts, vials being poured out, or really any other signifigant happenings since about 1935. This means that those of the generation who could witness any of these supposed fulfillments are at least 76 years old.
Has the WTS claimed any fulfillment of Revelation since the early 20th century?
Do they believe there has been nothing happening in the way of biblical prophecy for nearly 80 years?
It seems that if they were correct in their understanding, those who were around during the trumpet blasts would still be around at armageddon, since these were supposedly a warning to the nations, and to religious leaders. So, what they are saying is people who heard the trumpet blasts, and the bowls being poured out and ignored it will be resurrected for the most part since most have already died before armageddon. However, those who have been born since have never heard the trumpet blasts, or the bowls being poured out, yet they will die at armageddon without hearing the warnings.
folks,.
reading the john/jack/fred barr "info" on page 6, can anyone tell me the difference between this blantant human honoring eulogy and what would be presented at an actual funeral for any tom, dick or harry?
i can't tell the difference.
I have heard, but I've never read anything that I can remember. What is the WTS opinion of eulogies? When my Dad died, the elder who gave the talk said: "We're not here to eulogize Jim........" What do they say is wrong with a eulogy?
